بَرَآءَةٞ
BARAAAʹATUM
Freedom from obligations
مِّنَ
MINAL
from
ٱللَّهِ
LAAHI
Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ
wa-Rasooliheee
and His Messenger
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those (with) whom
عَٰهَدتُّم
ʻaahattum
you made a covenant
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
Mushrikeen:―
the polytheists
١
9:2
فَسِيحُواْ
Faseeḥoo
So move about
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
أَرۡبَعَةَ
ʹarbaʻata
(during) four
أَشۡهُرٖ
ʹashhuriñw
months
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
waʻlamooo
but know
أَنَّكُمۡ
ʹannakum
that you
غَيۡرُ
g̣ayru
(can) not
مُعۡجِزِي
muʻjizil
escape
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَأَنَّ
wa-ʹannal
and that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
مُخۡزِي
mukhzil
(is) the One Who (will) disgrace
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
the disbelievers
٢
9:3
وَأَذَٰنٞ
Wa-ʹaẓaanum
And an announcement
مِّنَ
minal
from Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
from Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ
wa-Rasooliheee
and His Messenger
إِلَى
ʹilan
to
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
the people
يَوۡمَ
yawmal
(on the) day
ٱلۡحَجِّ
Ḥajjil
(of) the greater Pilgrimage
ٱلۡأَكۡبَرِ
ʹAkbari
(of) the greater Pilgrimage
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
بَرِيٓءٞ
bareeeʹum
(is) free from obligations
مِّنَ
minal
[of]
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
mushrikeena
(to) the polytheists
وَرَسُولُهُۥۚ
wa-Rasooluh.
and (so is) His Messenger
فَإِن
Faʹiñ
So if
تُبۡتُمۡ
tubtum
you repent
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
then it is
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
best
لَّكُمۡۖ
lakum:
for you
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñ
But if
تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ
tawallaytum
you turn away
فَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
faʻlamooo
then know
أَنَّكُمۡ
ʹannakum
that you
غَيۡرُ
g̣ayru
(can) not
مُعۡجِزِي
muʻjizil
escape
ٱللَّهِۗ
laah.
Allah
وَبَشِّرِ
Wa-bashshiril
And give glad tidings
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(to) those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
بِعَذَابٍ
biʻaẓaabin
of a punishment
أَلِيمٍ
ʹaleem:
painful
٣
9:4
إِلَّا
ʹIllal
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those (with) whom
عَٰهَدتُّم
ʻaahattum
you have a covenant
مِّنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
mushrikeena
the polytheists
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
لَمۡ
lam
not
يَنقُصُوكُمۡ
yañq̣uṣookum
they have failed you
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
(in any) thing
وَلَمۡ
walam
and not
يُظَٰهِرُواْ
yuz̤̣aahiroo
they have supported
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
against you
أَحَدٗا
ʹaḥadañ
anyone
فَأَتِمُّوٓاْ
faʹatimmooo
so fulfil
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
to them
عَهۡدَهُمۡ
ʻahdahum
their treaty
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
till
مُدَّتِهِمۡۚ
muddatihim:
their term
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
loves
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Muttaq̣een.
the righteous
٤
9:5
فَإِذَا
Faʹiẓañ
Then when
ٱنسَلَخَ
salakhal
have passed
ٱلۡأَشۡهُرُ
ʹAshhurul
the sacred months
ٱلۡحُرُمُ
Ḥurumu
the sacred months
فَٱقۡتُلُواْ
faq̣tulul
then kill
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
mushrikeena
the polytheists
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
wherever
وَجَدتُّمُوهُمۡ
wajattumoohum
you find them
وَخُذُوهُمۡ
wa-khuẓoohum
and seize them
وَٱحۡصُرُوهُمۡ
waḥṣuroohum
and besiege them
وَٱقۡعُدُواْ
waq̣ʻudoo
and sit (in wait)
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
كُلَّ
kulla
(at) every
مَرۡصَدٖۚ
marṣad.
place of ambush
فَإِن
Faʹiñ
But if
تَابُواْ
taaboo
they repent
وَأَقَامُواْ
wa-ʹaq̣aamuṣ
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayer
وَءَاتَوُاْ
wa-ʹaatawuz
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
Zakaata
the zakah
فَخَلُّواْ
fakhalloo
then leave
سَبِيلَهُمۡۚ
sabeelahum:
their way
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
٥
9:6
وَإِنۡ
Wa-ʹin
And if
أَحَدٞ
ʹaḥadum
anyone
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
mushrikeenas
the polytheists
ٱسۡتَجَارَكَ
tajaaraka
seek your protection
فَأَجِرۡهُ
faʹajirhu
then grant him protection
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يَسۡمَعَ
yasmaʻa
he hears
كَلَٰمَ
Kalaamal
(the) Words of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(the) Words of Allah
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
أَبۡلِغۡهُ
ʹablig̣hu
escort him
مَأۡمَنَهُۥۚ
maʹmanah.
(to) his place of safety
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
biʹannahum
(is) because they
قَوۡمٞ
q̣awmul
(are) a people
لَّا
laa
(who) do not know
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
(who) do not know

كَيۡفَ
Kayfa
How
يَكُونُ
yakoonu
can (there) be
لِلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
lilmushrikeena
for the polytheists
عَهۡدٌ
ʻahdun
a covenant
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
with
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَعِندَ
wa-ʻiñda
and with
رَسُولِهِۦٓ
Rasooliheee
His Messenger
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those (with) whom
عَٰهَدتُّمۡ
ʻaahattum
you made a covenant
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
near
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
Masjidil
Al-Masjid
ٱلۡحَرَامِۖ
Ḥaraam?
Al-Haraam
فَمَا
Famas
So long as
ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ
taq̣aamoo
they are upright
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
فَٱسۡتَقِيمُواْ
fastaq̣eemoo
then you be upright
لَهُمۡۚ
lahum:
to them
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
loves
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Muttaq̣een.
the righteous
٧
9:8
كَيۡفَ
Kayfa
How
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
while if
يَظۡهَرُواْ
yaz̤̣haroo
they gain dominance
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
over you
لَا
laa-
they do not regard (the ties)
يَرۡقُبُواْ
yarq̣uboo
they do not regard (the ties)
فِيكُمۡ
feekum
with you
إِلّٗا
ʹillañw
(of) kinship
وَلَا
Walaa
and not
ذِمَّةٗۚ
ẓimmah?
covenant of protection
يُرۡضُونَكُم
Yurḍoonakum̃
They satisfy you
بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ
biʹafwaahihim
with their mouths
وَتَأۡبَىٰ
wa-taʹbaa
but refuse
قُلُوبُهُمۡ
q̣uloobuhum;
their hearts
وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
wa-ʹaks̤aruhum
and most of them
فَٰسِقُونَ
faasiq̣oon.
(are) defiantly disobedient
٨
9:9
ٱشۡتَرَوۡاْ
ʹIshtaraw
They exchange
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biʹAayaatil
[with] the Verses of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
[with] the Verses of Allah
ثَمَنٗا
s̤amanañ
(for) a little price
قَلِيلٗا
q̣aleelañ
(for) a little price
فَصَدُّواْ
faṣaddoo
and they hinder (people)
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَبِيلِهِۦٓۚ
Sabeelih:
His way
إِنَّهُمۡ
ʹinnahum
Indeed
سَآءَ
saaaʹa
evil
مَا
maa-
(is) what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloon.
do
٩
9:10
لَا
Laa-
Not
يَرۡقُبُونَ
yarq̣uboona
they respect (the ties)
فِي
fee
towards
مُؤۡمِنٍ
Muʹminin
a believer
إِلّٗا
ʹillañw
(of) kinship
وَلَا
Walaa
and not
ذِمَّةٗۚ
ẓimmah.
covenant of protection
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
Wa-ʹulaaaʹika
And those
هُمُ
humul
[they]
ٱلۡمُعۡتَدُونَ
muʻtadoon.
(are) the transgressors
١٠
9:11
فَإِن
Faʹiñ
But if
تَابُواْ
taaboo
they repent
وَأَقَامُواْ
wa-ʹaq̣aamuṣ
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayer
وَءَاتَوُاْ
wa-ʹaatawuz
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
Zakaata
the zakah
فَإِخۡوَٰنُكُمۡ
faʹikhwaanukum
then (they are) your brothers
فِي
fid
in
ٱلدِّينِۗ
Deen:
[the] religion
وَنُفَصِّلُ
wa-nufaṣṣilul
And We explain in detail
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
ʹAayaati
the Verses
لِقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
(who) know
١١
9:12
وَإِن
Wa-ʹin
And if
نَّكَثُوٓاْ
nakas̤ooo
they break
أَيۡمَٰنَهُم
ʹaymaanahum
their oaths
مِّنۢ
mim
after
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
عَهۡدِهِمۡ
ʻahdihim
their treaty
وَطَعَنُواْ
waṭaʻanoo
and defame
فِي
fee
[in]
دِينِكُمۡ
Deenikum
your religion
فَقَٰتِلُوٓاْ
faq̣aatilooo
then fight
أَئِمَّةَ
ʹaʹimmatal
the leaders
ٱلۡكُفۡرِ
kufri
(of) [the] disbelief
إِنَّهُمۡ
ʹinnahum
indeed they
لَآ
laaa
no
أَيۡمَٰنَ
ʹaymaana
oaths
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَنتَهُونَ
yañtahoon.
cease
١٢
9:13
أَلَا
ʹAlaa
Will not
تُقَٰتِلُونَ
tuq̣aatiloona
you fight
قَوۡمٗا
q̣awman
a people
نَّكَثُوٓاْ
nakas̤ooo
who broke
أَيۡمَٰنَهُمۡ
ʹaymaanahum
their oaths
وَهَمُّواْ
wa-hammoo
and determined
بِإِخۡرَاجِ
biʹikhraajir
to drive out
ٱلرَّسُولِ
Rasooli
the Messenger
وَهُم
wa-hum̃
and they
بَدَءُوكُمۡ
badaʹookum
began (to attack) you
أَوَّلَ
ʹawwala
first
مَرَّةٍۚ
marrah?
time
أَتَخۡشَوۡنَهُمۡۚ
ʹAtakhshawnahum?
Do you fear them
فَٱللَّهُ
Fallaahu
But Allah
أَحَقُّ
ʹaḥaq̣q̣u
(has) more right
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَخۡشَوۡهُ
takhshawhu
you should fear Him
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you are
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen.
believers

9:14
قَٰتِلُوهُمۡ
Q̣aatiloohum
Fight them
يُعَذِّبۡهُمُ
yuʻaẓẓibhumul
Allah will punish them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah will punish them
بِأَيۡدِيكُمۡ
biʹaydeekum
by your hands
وَيُخۡزِهِمۡ
wa-yukhzihim
and disgrace them
وَيَنصُرۡكُمۡ
wa-yañṣurkum
and give you victory
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
over them
وَيَشۡفِ
wa-yashfi
and will heal
صُدُورَ
ṣudoora
(the) breasts
قَوۡمٖ
q̣awmim
(of) a people
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen.
(who are) believers
١٤
9:15
وَيُذۡهِبۡ
Wa-yuẓhib
And remove
غَيۡظَ
g̣ayz̤̣a
(the) anger
قُلُوبِهِمۡۗ
q̣uloobihim.
(of) their hearts
وَيَتُوبُ
Wa-yatoobul
And Allah accepts repentance
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
And Allah accepts repentance
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
of
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۗ
yashaaaʹ;
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleemun
(is) All-Knower
حَكِيمٌ
Ḥakeem.
All-Wise
١٥
9:16
أَمۡ
ʹAm
Or
حَسِبۡتُمۡ
ḥasibtum
(do) you think
أَن
ʹañ
that
تُتۡرَكُواْ
tutrakoo
you would be left
وَلَمَّا
wa-lammaa
while not
يَعۡلَمِ
yaʻlamil
Allah made evident
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah made evident
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
جَٰهَدُواْ
jaahadoo
strive
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
and not
يَتَّخِذُواْ
yattakhiẓoo
take
مِن
miñ
besides Allah
دُونِ
doonil
besides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
besides Allah
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
رَسُولِهِۦ
Rasoolihee
His Messenger
وَلَا
wa-lal
and not
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineena
the believers
وَلِيجَةٗۚ
waleejah?
(as) intimates
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
خَبِيرُۢ
khabeerum
(is) All-Aware
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon.
you do
١٦
9:17
مَا
Maa-
(It) is not
كَانَ
kaana
(It) is not
لِلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
lil-Mushrikeena
for the polytheists
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَعۡمُرُواْ
yaʻmuroo
they maintain
مَسَٰجِدَ
masaajidal
(the) masajid of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(the) masajid of Allah
شَٰهِدِينَ
shaahideena
(while) witnessing
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
against
أَنفُسِهِم
ʹañfusihim̃
themselves
بِٱلۡكُفۡرِۚ
bilkufr.
[with] disbelief
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹika
(For) those
حَبِطَتۡ
ḥabiṭat
worthless
أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡ
ʹaʻmaaluhum
(are) their deeds
وَفِي
wa-fin
and in
ٱلنَّارِ
Naari
the Fire
هُمۡ
hum
they
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaalidoon.
(will) abide forever
١٧
9:18
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamaa
Only
يَعۡمُرُ
yaʻmuru
will maintain
مَسَٰجِدَ
masaajidal
(the) masajid of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(the) masajid of Allah
مَنۡ
man
(the one) who
ءَامَنَ
ʹaamana
believes
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-Yawmil
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِ
ʹAakhiri
the Last
وَأَقَامَ
wa-ʹaq̣aamaṣ
and establishes
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayer
وَءَاتَى
wa-ʹaataz
and gives
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
Zakaata
the zakah
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
and not
يَخۡشَ
yakhsha
fear
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱللَّهَۖ
laah.
Allah
فَعَسَىٰٓ
Faʻasaaa
Then perhaps
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹika
those
أَن
ʹañy
[that]
يَكُونُواْ
yakoonoo
they are
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَ
Muhtadeen.
the guided ones
١٨
9:19
۞أَجَعَلۡتُمۡ
ʹAjaʻaltum
Do you make
سِقَايَةَ
siq̣aayatal
the providing of water
ٱلۡحَآجِّ
Ḥaaajji
(to) the pilgrims
وَعِمَارَةَ
wa-ʻimaaratal
and (the) maintenance
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
Masjidil
(of) Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
ٱلۡحَرَامِ
Ḥaraami
(of) Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
كَمَنۡ
kaman
like (the one) who
ءَامَنَ
ʹaamana
believes
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-Yawmil
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِ
ʹAakhiri
the Last
وَجَٰهَدَ
wa-jaahada
and strives
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah?
(of) Allah
لَا
Laa-
They are not equal
يَسۡتَوُۥنَ
yastawoona
They are not equal
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
near
ٱللَّهِۗ
laah:
Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdil
guide
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awmaz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
١٩
9:20
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believed
وَهَاجَرُواْ
wa-haajaroo
and emigrated
وَجَٰهَدُواْ
wa-jaahadoo
and strove
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
بِأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ
biʹamwaalihim
with their wealth
وَأَنفُسِهِمۡ
wa-ʹañfusihim
and their lives
أَعۡظَمُ
ʹaʻz̤̣amu
(are) greater
دَرَجَةً
darajatan
(in) rank
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
near
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah:
Allah
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
wa-ʹulaaaʹika
And those
هُمُ
humul
they
ٱلۡفَآئِزُونَ
faaaʹizoon.
(are) the successful

يُبَشِّرُهُمۡ
Yubashshiruhum
Their Lord gives them glad tidings
رَبُّهُم
Rabbuhum̃
Their Lord gives them glad tidings
بِرَحۡمَةٖ
biraḥmatim
of Mercy
مِّنۡهُ
minhu
from Him
وَرِضۡوَٰنٖ
wa-riḍwaaniñw
and Pleasure
وَجَنَّٰتٖ
wa-Jannaatil
and Gardens
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
for them
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
نَعِيمٞ
naʻeemum
(is) bliss
مُّقِيمٌ
muq̣eem;
enduring
٢١
9:22
خَٰلِدِينَ
Khaalideena
(They will) abide
فِيهَآ
feehaaa
in it
أَبَدًاۚ
ʹabadaa.
forever
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عِندَهُۥٓ
ʻiñdahooo
with Him
أَجۡرٌ
ʹajrun
(is) a reward
عَظِيمٞ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
great
٢٢
9:23
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ
tattakhiẓooo
take
ءَابَآءَكُمۡ
ʹaabaaaʹakum
your fathers
وَإِخۡوَٰنَكُمۡ
wa-ʹikhwaanakum
and your brothers
أَوۡلِيَآءَ
ʹawliyaaaʹa
(as) allies
إِنِ
ʹinis
if
ٱسۡتَحَبُّواْ
taḥabbul
they prefer
ٱلۡكُفۡرَ
kufra
[the] disbelief
عَلَى
ʻalal
over
ٱلۡإِيمَٰنِۚ
ʹeemaan.
[the] belief
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يَتَوَلَّهُم
yatawal-lahum
takes them as allies
مِّنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
then those
هُمُ
humuz̤̣
[they]
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoon.
(are) the wrongdoers
٢٣
9:24
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
إِن
ʹiñ
If
كَانَ
kaana
are
ءَابَآؤُكُمۡ
ʹaabaaaʹukum
your fathers
وَأَبۡنَآؤُكُمۡ
wa-ʹabnaaaʹukum
and your sons
وَإِخۡوَٰنُكُمۡ
wa-ʹikhwaanukum
and your brothers
وَأَزۡوَٰجُكُمۡ
wa-ʹazwaajukum
and your spouses
وَعَشِيرَتُكُمۡ
wa-ʻasheeratukum
and your relatives
وَأَمۡوَٰلٌ
wa-ʹamwaaluniq̣
and wealth
ٱقۡتَرَفۡتُمُوهَا
taraftumoohaa
that you have acquired
وَتِجَٰرَةٞ
wa-tijaaratuñ
and the commerce
تَخۡشَوۡنَ
takhshawna
you fear
كَسَادَهَا

أَحَبَّ

(are) more beloved
إِلَيۡكُم
ʹilaykum
to you
مِّنَ

than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
wa-Rasoolihee
and His Messenger
وَجِهَادٖ
wa-Jihaadiñ
and striving
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِهِۦ
Sabeelihee
His way
فَتَرَبَّصُواْ
fatarabbaṣoo
then wait
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يَأۡتِيَ
yaʹtiyallaahu
Allah brings
ٱللَّهُ
bi
Allah brings
بِأَمۡرِهِۦۗ
ʹAmrih.
His Command
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdil
guide
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awmal
the people
ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ
faasiq̣een.
the defiantly disobedient

9:25
لَقَدۡ
Laq̣ad
Verily
نَصَرَكُمُ
naṣarakumul
Allah helped you
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah helped you
فِي
fee
in
مَوَاطِنَ
mawaaṭina
regions
كَثِيرَةٖ
kas̤eeratiñw
many
وَيَوۡمَ
wayawma
and (on the) day
حُنَيۡنٍ
Ḥunaynin
(of) Hunain
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
أَعۡجَبَتۡكُمۡ
ʹaʻjabatkum
pleased you
كَثۡرَتُكُمۡ
kas̤ratukum
your multitude
فَلَمۡ
falam
but not
تُغۡنِ
tug̣ni
availed
عَنكُمۡ
ʻañkum
you
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
anything
وَضَاقَتۡ
waḍaaq̣at
and (was) straitened
عَلَيۡكُمُ
ʻalaykumul
for you
ٱلۡأَرۡضُ
ʹarḍu
the earth
بِمَا
bimaa
(in spite) of its vastness
رَحُبَتۡ
raḥubat
(in spite) of its vastness
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
وَلَّيۡتُم
wallaytum
you turned back
مُّدۡبِرِينَ
mudbireen!
fleeing

9:26
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzalal
Allah sent down
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah sent down
سَكِينَتَهُۥ
sakeenatahoo
His tranquility
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
رَسُولِهِۦ
Rasoolihee
His Messenger
وَعَلَى
wa-ʻalal
and on
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineena
the believers
وَأَنزَلَ
wa-ʹañzala
and sent down
جُنُودٗا
junoodal
forces
لَّمۡ
lam
which you did not see
تَرَوۡهَا
tarawhaa:
which you did not see
وَعَذَّبَ
wa-ʻaẓẓabal
and He punished
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْۚ
kafaroo.
disbelieved
وَذَٰلِكَ
Wa-ẓaalika
And that
جَزَآءُ
jazaaaʹul
(is) the recompense
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
(of) the disbelievers

Allah accepts repentance

عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
for
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۗ
yashaaaʹ:
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful

9:28
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
O you who believe
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
O you who believe
إِنَّمَا
ʹinnamal
Indeed
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكُونَ
Mushrikoona
the polytheists
نَجَسٞ
najasuñ
(are) unclean
فَلَا
falaa
so let them not come near
يَقۡرَبُواْ
yaq̣rabul
so let them not come near
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدَ
Masjidal
Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
ٱلۡحَرَامَ
Ḥaraama
Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
عَامِهِمۡ
ʻaamihim
this their (final) year
هَٰذَاۚ
haaẓaa.
this their (final) year
وَإِنۡ
Wa-ʹin
And if
خِفۡتُمۡ
khiftum
you fear
عَيۡلَةٗ
ʻaylatañ
poverty
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
then soon
يُغۡنِيكُمُ
yug̣neekumul
Allah will enrich you
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah will enrich you
مِن
miñ
from
فَضۡلِهِۦٓ
faḍliheee
His Bounty
إِن
ʹiñ
if
شَآءَۚ
shaaaʹ.
He wills
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleemun
(is) All-Knower
حَكِيمٞ
Ḥakeem.
All-Wise

قَٰتِلُواْ
Q̣aatilul
Fight
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
بِٱلۡيَوۡمِ
bil-yawmil
in the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِ
ʹAakhiri
the Last
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يُحَرِّمُونَ
yuḥarrimoona
they make unlawful
مَا
maa-
what
حَرَّمَ
ḥarramal
Allah has made unlawful
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah has made unlawful
وَرَسُولُهُۥ
wa-Rasooluhoo
and His Messenger
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يَدِينُونَ
yadeenoona
they acknowledge
دِينَ
Deenal
(the) religion
ٱلۡحَقِّ
Ḥaq̣q̣i
(of) the truth
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
أُوتُواْ
ʹootul
were given
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Scripture
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يُعۡطُواْ
yuʻṭul
they pay
ٱلۡجِزۡيَةَ
Jizyata
the jizyah
عَن
ʻañy
willingly
يَدٖ
yadiñw
willingly
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
صَٰغِرُونَ
ṣaag̣iroon.
(are) subdued

9:30
وَقَالَتِ
Wa-q̣aalatil
And said
ٱلۡيَهُودُ
Yahoodu
the Jews
عُزَيۡرٌ
ʻUzayrunib
Uzair
ٱبۡنُ
nul
(is) son
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَقَالَتِ
wa-q̣aalatin
And said
ٱلنَّصَٰرَى
Naṣaaral
the Christians
ٱلۡمَسِيحُ
Maseeḥub
Messiah
ٱبۡنُ
nul
(is) son
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah.
(of) Allah
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
قَوۡلُهُم
q̣awluhum̃
(is) their saying
بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡۖ
biʹafwaahihim.
with their mouths
يُضَٰهِـُٔونَ
Yuḍaahiʹoona
they imitate
قَوۡلَ
q̣awlal
the saying
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُۚ
q̣abl.
before
قَٰتَلَهُمُ
Q̣aatalahumul
(May) Allah destroy them
ٱللَّهُۖ
laah;
(May) Allah destroy them
أَنَّىٰ
ʹannaa
How
يُؤۡفَكُونَ
yuʹfakoon!
deluded are they

9:31
ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْ
ʹIttakhaẓooo
They have taken
أَحۡبَارَهُمۡ
ʹaḥbaarahum
their rabbis
وَرُهۡبَٰنَهُمۡ
wa-ruhbaanahum
and their monks
أَرۡبَابٗا
ʹarbaabam
(as) Lords
مِّن
miñ
besides
دُونِ
doonil
besides
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَٱلۡمَسِيحَ
wal-Maseeḥab
and the Messiah
ٱبۡنَ
na
son
مَرۡيَمَ
Maryam.
(of) Maryam
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أُمِرُوٓاْ
ʹumirooo
they were commanded
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
لِيَعۡبُدُوٓاْ
liyaʻbudooo
that they worship
إِلَٰهٗا
ʹIlaahañw
One God
وَٰحِدٗاۖ
Waa-ḥidaa.
One God
لَّآ
Laaa
(There) is no
إِلَٰهَ
ʹilaaha
god
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
هُوَۚ
Hoo.
Him
سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ
Subḥaanahoo
Glory be to Him
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
from what
يُشۡرِكُونَ
yushrikoon.
they associate (with Him)

They want

Allah's light

بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ
biʹafwaahihim
with their mouths
وَيَأۡبَى
wa-yaʹbal
but Allah refuses
ٱللَّهُ

إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañy
to
يُتِمَّ
yutimma
perfect
نُورَهُۥ
Noorahoo
His Light
وَلَوۡ
wa-law
even if
كَرِهَ
karihal
the disbelievers dislike (it)
ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ
Kaafiroon.
the disbelievers dislike (it)

9:33
هُوَ
Huwal
He
ٱلَّذِيٓ
laẓeee
(is) the One Who
أَرۡسَلَ
ʹarsala
has sent
رَسُولَهُۥ
Rasoolahoo
His Messenger
بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ
bil-Hudaa
with the guidance
وَدِينِ
wa-Deenil
and the religion
ٱلۡحَقِّ
Ḥaq̣q̣i
(of) [the] truth
لِيُظۡهِرَهُۥ
liyuz̤̣hirahoo
to manifest it
عَلَى
ʻalad
over
ٱلدِّينِ
deeni
all religions
كُلِّهِۦ
kullihee
all religions
وَلَوۡ
wa-law
Even if
كَرِهَ
karihal
dislike (it)
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكُونَ
Mushrikoon.

9:34
۞يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
O you who believe
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
O you who believe
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeram
many
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡأَحۡبَارِ
ʹaḥbaari
the rabbis
وَٱلرُّهۡبَانِ
warruhbaani
and the monks
لَيَأۡكُلُونَ
layaʹkuloona
surely eat
أَمۡوَٰلَ
ʹamwaalan
(the) wealth
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
(of) the people
بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ
bil-baaṭili
in falsehood
وَيَصُدُّونَ
wa-yaṣuddoona
and hinder
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۗ
laah.
(of) Allah
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
يَكۡنِزُونَ
yaknizoonaẓ
hoard
ٱلذَّهَبَ
ẓahaba
the gold
وَٱلۡفِضَّةَ
wal-fiḍḍata
and the silver
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
يُنفِقُونَهَا
yuñfiq̣oonahaa
spend it
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
فَبَشِّرۡهُم
fabashshirhum̃
[so] give them tidings
بِعَذَابٍ
biʻaẓaabin
of a punishment
أَلِيمٖ
ʹaleem.

9:35
يَوۡمَ
Yawma
(The) Day
يُحۡمَىٰ
yuḥmaa
it will be heated [on it]
عَلَيۡهَا
ʻalayhaa
it will be heated [on it]
فِي
fee
in
نَارِ
Naari
the Fire
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
(of) Hell
فَتُكۡوَىٰ
fatukwaa
and will be branded
بِهَا
bihaa
with it
جِبَاهُهُمۡ
jibaahuhum
their foreheads
وَجُنُوبُهُمۡ
wa-junoobuhum
and their flanks
وَظُهُورُهُمۡۖ
waz̤̣uhooruhum.
and their backs
هَٰذَا
Haaẓaa
This
مَا
maa-
(is) what
كَنَزۡتُمۡ
kanaztum
you hoarded
لِأَنفُسِكُمۡ
liʹañfusikum
for yourselves
فَذُوقُواْ
faẓooq̣oo
so taste
مَا
maa-
what
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used to
تَكۡنِزُونَ
taknizoon.
hoard

9:36
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
عِدَّةَ
ʻiddatash
(the) number
ٱلشُّهُورِ
shuhoori
(of) the months
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
with
ٱللَّهِ
laahis̤
Allah
ٱثۡنَا
naa
(is) twelve
عَشَرَ
ʻashara
(is) twelve
شَهۡرٗا
shahrañ
months
فِي
fee
in
كِتَٰبِ
Kitaabil
(the) ordinance
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(from the) Day
خَلَقَ
khalaq̣as
He created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-ʹarḍa
and the earth
مِنۡهَآ
minhaaa
of them
أَرۡبَعَةٌ
ʹarbaʻatun
four
حُرُمٞۚ
ḥurum:
(are) sacred
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalikad
That
ٱلدِّينُ
Deenul
(is) the religion
ٱلۡقَيِّمُۚ
Q̣ayyim.
the upright
فَلَا
Falaa
so (do) not
تَظۡلِمُواْ
taz̤̣limoo
wrong
فِيهِنَّ
feehinna
therein
أَنفُسَكُمۡۚ
ʹañfusakum;
yourselves
وَقَٰتِلُواْ
wa-q̣aatilul
And fight
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
Mushrikeena
the polytheists
كَآفَّةٗ
kaaaffatañ
all together
كَمَا
kamaa
as
يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمۡ
yuq̣aatiloonakum
they fight you
كَآفَّةٗۚ
kaaaffah.
all together
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
Waʻlamooo
And know
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
مَعَ
maʻal
(is) with
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Muttaq̣een.
the righteous

ʹInnaman
Indeed
ٱلنَّسِيٓءُ
naseeeʹu
the postponing
زِيَادَةٞ
ziyaadatuñ
(is) an increase
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡكُفۡرِۖ
kufri
the disbelief
يُضَلُّ
yuḍallu
are led astray
بِهِ
bihil
by it
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
يُحِلُّونَهُۥ
yuḥillunahoo
They make it lawful
عَامٗا
ʻaamañw
one year
وَيُحَرِّمُونَهُۥ
Wayuḥarrimoonahoo
and make it unlawful
عَامٗا
ʻaamal
(another) year
لِّيُوَاطِـُٔواْ
liyuwaaṭiʹoo
to adjust
عِدَّةَ
ʻiddata
the number
مَا
maa-
which
حَرَّمَ
ḥarramal
Allah has made unlawful
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah has made unlawful
فَيُحِلُّواْ
fayuḥilloo
and making lawful
مَا
maa-
what
حَرَّمَ
harramal
Allah has made unlawful
ٱللَّهُۚ
laah.
Allah has made unlawful
زُيِّنَ
Zuyyina
Is made fair-seeming
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
سُوٓءُ
soooʹu
(the) evil
أَعۡمَٰلِهِمۡۗ
ʹaʻmaalihim.
(of) their deeds
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdil
guide
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awmal
the people
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Kaafireen.
the disbelievers

9:38
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
O you who believe
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
O you who believe
مَا
maa-
What
لَكُمۡ
lakum
(is the matter) with you
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
قِيلَ
q̣eela
it is said
لَكُمُ
lakumuñ
to you
ٱنفِرُواْ
firoo
go forth
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahis̤
(of) Allah
ٱثَّاقَلۡتُمۡ
s̤aaq̣altum
you cling heavily
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
ʹarḍ?
the earth
أَرَضِيتُم
ʹAraḍeetum̃
Are you pleased
بِٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
bilḥayaatid
with the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
مِنَ
minal
(rather) than
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ
ʹAakhirah?
the Hereafter
فَمَا
Famaa
But what
مَتَٰعُ
mataaʻul
(is the) enjoyment
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
فِي
fil
in (comparison to)
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
the hereafter
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
قَلِيلٌ
q̣aleel.
a little

9:39
إِلَّا
ʹIllaa
If not
تَنفِرُواْ
tañfiroo
you go forth
يُعَذِّبۡكُمۡ
yuʻaẓẓibkum
He will punish you
عَذَابًا
ʻaẓaaban
(with) a painful punishment
أَلِيمٗا
ʹaleemañw
(with) a painful punishment
وَيَسۡتَبۡدِلۡ
Wayastabdil
and will replace you
قَوۡمًا
q̣awman
(with) a people
غَيۡرَكُمۡ
g̣ayrakum
other than you
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تَضُرُّوهُ
taḍurroohu
you can harm Him
شَيۡـٔٗاۗ
shayʹaa.
(in) anything
وَٱللَّهُ
Wal-laahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
Q̣adeer.
All-Powerful
٣٩
9:40
إِلَّا
ʹIllaa
If not
تَنصُرُوهُ
tañṣuroohu
you help him
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
certainly
نَصَرَهُ
naṣarahul
Allah helped him
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah helped him
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
أَخۡرَجَهُ
ʹakhrajahul
drove him out
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
ثَانِيَ
S̤aaniyas̤
the second
ٱثۡنَيۡنِ
nayni
(of) the two
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
هُمَا
humaa
they both
فِي
fil
(were) in
ٱلۡغَارِ
G̣aari
the cave
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
يَقُولُ
yaq̣oolu
he said
لِصَٰحِبِهِۦ
li-Ṣaaḥibihee
to his companion
لَا
˹Laa
(Do) not
تَحۡزَنۡ
taḥzan
grieve
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
مَعَنَاۖ
maʻanaa.
(is) with us
فَأَنزَلَ
Faʹañzalal
Then Allah sent down
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Then Allah sent down
سَكِينَتَهُۥ
sakeenatahoo
His tranquility
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
upon him
وَأَيَّدَهُۥ
wa-ʹayyadahoo
and supported him
بِجُنُودٖ
bijunoodil
with forces
لَّمۡ
lam
which you did not see
تَرَوۡهَا
tarawhaa
which you did not see
وَجَعَلَ
wa-jaʻala
and made
كَلِمَةَ
kalimatal
(the) word
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafarus
disbelieved
ٱلسُّفۡلَىٰۗ
suflaa;
the lowest
وَكَلِمَةُ
wa-Kalimatul
while (the) Word
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
هِيَ
hiyal
it (is)
ٱلۡعُلۡيَاۗ
ʻUlyaa:
the highest
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
عَزِيزٌ
ʻAzeezun
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٌ
Ḥakeem.

Go forth
خِفَافٗا
khifaafañw
light
وَثِقَالٗا
was̤iq̣aalañw
or heavy
وَجَٰهِدُواْ
wajaahidoo
and strive
بِأَمۡوَٰلِكُمۡ
biʹamwaalikum
with your wealth
وَأَنفُسِكُمۡ
wa-ʹañfusikum
and your lives
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah.
(of) Allah
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
Ẓaalikum
That
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
(is) better
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
for you
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon.
know

لَوۡ
Law
If
كَانَ
kaana
it had been
عَرَضٗا
ʻaraḍañ
a gain
قَرِيبٗا
q̣areebañw
near
وَسَفَرٗا
wasafarañ
and a journey
قَاصِدٗا
q̣aaṣidal
easy
لَّٱتَّبَعُوكَ
lattabaʻooka
surely they (would) have followed you
وَلَٰكِنۢ
wa-laakim
but
بَعُدَتۡ
baʻudat
was long
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimush
for them
ٱلشُّقَّةُۚ
shuq̣q̣ah.
the distance
وَسَيَحۡلِفُونَ
Wa-sayaḥlifoona
And they will swear
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
by Allah
لَوِ
lawis
If
ٱسۡتَطَعۡنَا
taṭaʻnaa
we were able
لَخَرَجۡنَا
lakharajnaa
certainly we (would) have come forth
مَعَكُمۡ
maʻakum.
with you
يُهۡلِكُونَ
Yuhlikoona
They destroy
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum;
their own selves
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-laahu
and Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
إِنَّهُمۡ
ʹinnahum
(that) indeed they
لَكَٰذِبُونَ
lakaaẓiboon.
(are) surely liars

9:43
عَفَا
ʻAfal
(May) Allah forgive
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(May) Allah forgive
عَنكَ
ʻañka
you
لِمَ
Lima
Why (did)
أَذِنتَ
ʹaẓiñta
you grant leave
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يَتَبَيَّنَ
yatabayyana
(became) evident
لَكَ
lakal
to you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
صَدَقُواْ
ṣadaq̣oo
were truthful
وَتَعۡلَمَ
wa-taʻlamal
and you knew
ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
kaaẓibeen.
the liars
٤٣
9:44
لَا
Laa-
(Would) not ask your permission
يَسۡتَـٔۡذِنُكَ
yastaʹẓinukal
(Would) not ask your permission
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-Yawmil
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِ
ʹAakhiri
the Last
أَن
ʹañy
that
يُجَٰهِدُواْ
yujaahidoo
they strive
بِأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ
biʹamwaalihim
with their wealth
وَأَنفُسِهِمۡۗ
wa-ʹañfusihim.
and their lives
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
ʻAleemum
(is) All-Knower
بِٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
bil-Muttaq̣een.
of the righteous
٤٤
9:45
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamaa
Only
يَسۡتَـٔۡذِنُكَ
yastaʹẓinukal
ask your leave
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-Yawmil
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِ
ʹAakhiri
the Last
وَٱرۡتَابَتۡ
wartaabat
and (are in) doubts
قُلُوبُهُمۡ
q̣uloobuhum
their hearts
فَهُمۡ
fahum
so they
فِي
fee
in
رَيۡبِهِمۡ
raybihim
their doubts
يَتَرَدَّدُونَ
yataraddadoon.
they waver
٤٥
9:46
۞وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَرَادُواْ
ʹaraadul
they had wished
ٱلۡخُرُوجَ
khurooja
(to) go forth
لَأَعَدُّواْ
laʹaʻaddoo
surely they (would) have prepared
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for it
عُدَّةٗ
ʻuddatañw
(some) preparation
وَلَٰكِن
Walaakiñ
But
كَرِهَ
karihal
Allah disliked
ٱللَّهُ
laahum
Allah disliked
ٱنۢبِعَاثَهُمۡ
biʻaas̤ahum
their being sent
فَثَبَّطَهُمۡ
fas̤abbaṭahum
so He made them lag behind
وَقِيلَ
wa-q̣eelaq̣
and it was said
ٱقۡعُدُواْ
ʻudoo
Sit
مَعَ
maʻal
with
ٱلۡقَٰعِدِينَ
q̣aaʻideen.
those who sit
٤٦
9:47
لَوۡ
Law
If
خَرَجُواْ
kharajoo
they (had) gone forth
فِيكُم
feekum
with you
مَّا
maa
not
زَادُوكُمۡ
zaadookum
they (would) have increased you
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
خَبَالٗا
khabaalañw
(in) confusion
وَلَأَوۡضَعُواْ
walaʹawḍaʻoo
and would have been active
خِلَٰلَكُمۡ
khilaalakum
in your midst
يَبۡغُونَكُمُ
yabg̣oonakumul
seeking (for) you
ٱلۡفِتۡنَةَ
fitnah;
dissension
وَفِيكُمۡ
wa-feekum
And among you (are some)
سَمَّٰعُونَ
sammaaʻoona
who would have listened
لَهُمۡۗ
lahum.
to them
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
ʻAleemum
(is) All-Knower
بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
biz̤̣z̤̣aalimeen.
of the wrongdoers

لَقَدِ
Laq̣adib
Verily
ٱبۡتَغَوُاْ
tag̣awul
they had sought
ٱلۡفِتۡنَةَ
fitnata
dissension
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
وَقَلَّبُواْ
wa-q̣allaboo
and had upset
لَكَ
lakal
for you
ٱلۡأُمُورَ
ʹumoora
the matters
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
جَآءَ
jaaaʹal
came
ٱلۡحَقُّ
Ḥaq̣q̣u
the truth
وَظَهَرَ
waz̤̣ahara
and became manifest
أَمۡرُ
ʹAmrul
(the) Order of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(the) Order of Allah
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
كَٰرِهُونَ
kaarihoon.
disliked (it)
٤٨
9:49
وَمِنۡهُم
Wa-minhum
And among them
مَّن
mañy
(is he) who
يَقُولُ
yaq̣ooluʹ
says
ٱئۡذَن
ẓal
Grant me leave
لِّي
lee
Grant me leave
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَفۡتِنِّيٓۚ
taftinnee.
put me to trial
أَلَا
ʹAlaa
Surely
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡفِتۡنَةِ
fitnati
the trial
سَقَطُواْۗ
saq̣aṭoo?
they have fallen
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinna
And indeed
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
Hell
لَمُحِيطَةُۢ
lamuḥeeṭatum
(will) surely surround
بِٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
bil-Kaafireen.
the disbelievers
٤٩
9:50
إِن
ʹIñ
If
تُصِبۡكَ
tuṣibka
befalls you
حَسَنَةٞ
ḥasanatuñ
good
تَسُؤۡهُمۡۖ
tasuʹhum;
it distresses them
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñ
but if
تُصِبۡكَ
tuṣibka
befalls you
مُصِيبَةٞ
muṣeebatuñy
a calamity
يَقُولُواْ
yaq̣ooloo
they say
قَدۡ
q̣ad
Verily
أَخَذۡنَآ
ʹakhaẓnaaa
we took
أَمۡرَنَا
ʹamranaa
our matter
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
وَيَتَوَلَّواْ
wa-yatawallaw
And they turn away
وَّهُمۡ
wahum
while they
فَرِحُونَ
fariḥoon.
(are) rejoicing
