8:1
يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ
Yasʹaloonaka
They ask you
عَنِ
ʻanil
about
ٱلۡأَنفَالِۖ
ʹAÑ-FAAL.
the spoils of war
قُلِ
Q̣ulil
Say
ٱلۡأَنفَالُ
ʹAñfaalu
The spoils of war
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
(are) for Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولِۖ
war-Rasool:
and the Messenger
فَٱتَّقُواْ
Fattaq̣ul
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَأَصۡلِحُواْ
wa-ʹaṣliḥoo
and set right
ذَاتَ
ẓaata
that
بَيۡنِكُمۡۖ
baynikum:
(which is) between you
وَأَطِيعُواْ
wa-ʹaṭeeʻul
and obey
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ
wa-Rasoolahooo
and His Messenger
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you are
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen.
believers
١
8:2
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamal
Only
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
Muʹminoonal
the believers
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(are) those who
إِذَا
ʹizaa
when
ذُكِرَ
ẓukiral
is mentioned
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
وَجِلَتۡ
wajilat
feel fear
قُلُوبُهُمۡ
q̣uloobuhum
their hearts
وَإِذَا
wa-ʹiẓaa
and when
تُلِيَتۡ
tuliyat
are recited
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
to them
ءَايَٰتُهُۥ
ʹAayaatuhoo
His Verses
زَادَتۡهُمۡ
zaadathum
they increase them
إِيمَٰنٗا
ʹeemaanañw
(in) faith
وَعَلَىٰ
Waʻalaa
and upon
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
yatawakkaloon;
they put their trust
٢
8:3
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
يُقِيمُونَ
yuq̣eemoonaṣ
establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayer
وَمِمَّا
wa-mimmaa
and out of what
رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ
razaq̣naahum
We have provided them
يُنفِقُونَ
yuñfiq̣oon:
they spend
٣
8:4
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹika
Those
هُمُ
humul
they are
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
Muʹminoona
the believers
حَقّٗاۚ
ḥaq̣q̣aa;
(in) truth
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
For them
دَرَجَٰتٌ
darajaatun
(are) ranks
عِندَ
ʻiñda
with
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
وَمَغۡفِرَةٞ
wa-mag̣firatuñw
and forgiveness
وَرِزۡقٞ
warizq̣uñ
and a provision
كَرِيمٞ
kareem.

8:5
كَمَآ
Kamaaa
As
أَخۡرَجَكَ
ʹakhrajaka
brought you out
رَبُّكَ
Rabbuka
your Lord
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَيۡتِكَ
baytika
your home
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
bilḥaq̣q̣i
in truth
وَإِنَّ
wa-ʹinna
while indeed
فَرِيقٗا
fareeq̣am
a party
مِّنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineena
the believers
لَكَٰرِهُونَ
lakaarihoon,
certainly disliked
٥
8:6
يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ
Yujaadiloonaka
They dispute with you
فِي
fil
concerning
ٱلۡحَقِّ
Ḥaq̣q̣i
the truth
بَعۡدَ مَا
baʻdamaa-
after what
تَبَيَّنَ
tabayyana
was made clear
كَأَنَّمَا
kaʹannamaa
as if
يُسَاقُونَ
yusaaq̣oona
they were driven
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱلۡمَوۡتِ
mawti
[the] death
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
يَنظُرُونَ
yañz̤̣uroon.
(were) looking
٦
8:7
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
يَعِدُكُمُ
yaʻidukumul
promised you
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
إِحۡدَى
ʹiḥdaṭ
one
ٱلطَّآئِفَتَيۡنِ
ṭaaaʹifatayni
(of) the two groups
أَنَّهَا
ʹannahaa
that it (would be)
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَتَوَدُّونَ
wa-tawaddoona
and you wished
أَنَّ
ʹanna
that
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayra
(one) other than
ذَاتِ
ẓaatish
that
ٱلشَّوۡكَةِ
shawkati
(of) the armed
تَكُونُ
takoonu
would be
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَيُرِيدُ
wa-yureedul
But intended
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
أَن
ʹañy
to
يُحِقَّ
yuḥiq̣q̣al
justify
ٱلۡحَقَّ
Ḥaq̣q̣a
the truth
بِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ
bi-Kalimaatihee
by His words
وَيَقۡطَعَ
wa-yaq̣ṭaʻa
and cut off
دَابِرَ
daabiral
(the) roots
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen;―
(of) the disbelievers
٧
8:8
لِيُحِقَّ
Liyuḥiq̣q̣al
That He might justify
ٱلۡحَقَّ
Ḥaq̣q̣a
the truth
وَيُبۡطِلَ
wa-yubṭilal
and prove false
ٱلۡبَٰطِلَ
Baaṭila
the falsehood
وَلَوۡ
wa-law
even if
كَرِهَ
karihal
disliked (it)
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
mujrimoon.
the criminals

إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
تَسۡتَغِيثُونَ
tastag̣ees̤oona
you were seeking help
رَبَّكُمۡ
Rabbakum
(of) your Lord
فَٱسۡتَجَابَ
fastajaaba
and He answered
لَكُمۡ
lakum
[to] you
أَنِّي
ʹannee
Indeed I am
مُمِدُّكُم
mumiddukum̃
going to reinforce you
بِأَلۡفٖ
biʹalfim
with a thousand
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
malaaaʹikati
the Angels
مُرۡدِفِينَ
murdifeen.
one after another
٩
8:10
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
جَعَلَهُ
jaʻalahul
(it was) made
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(by) Allah
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
but
بُشۡرَىٰ
bushraa
good tidings
وَلِتَطۡمَئِنَّ
wa-litaṭmaʹinna
and so that might be at rest
بِهِۦ
bihee
with it
قُلُوبُكُمۡۚ
q̣uloobukum.
your hearts
وَمَا
Wa-man
And (there is) no
ٱلنَّصۡرُ
naṣru
[the] victory
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مِنۡ
min
from
عِندِ
ʻiñdil
[of]
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah:
Allah
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
ʻAzeezun
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٌ
Ḥakeem.
All-Wise
١٠
8:11
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
يُغَشِّيكُمُ
yug̣ashsheekumun
He covered you
ٱلنُّعَاسَ
nuʻaasa
with [the] slumber
أَمَنَةٗ
ʹamanatam
a security
مِّنۡهُ
minhu
from Him
وَيُنَزِّلُ
wa-yunazzilu
and sent down
عَلَيۡكُم
ʻalaykum
upon you
مِّنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
مَآءٗ
maaaʹal
water
لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم
liyuṭahhirakum̃
so that He may purify you
بِهِۦ
bihee
with it
وَيُذۡهِبَ
wa-yuẓhiba
and take away
عَنكُمۡ
ʻañkum
from you
رِجۡزَ
rijzash
evil (suggestions)
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ
Shayṭaani
(of) the Shaitaan
وَلِيَرۡبِطَ
wa-liyarbiṭa
And to strengthen
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
[on]
قُلُوبِكُمۡ
q̣uloobikum
your hearts
وَيُثَبِّتَ
wa-yus̤abbita
and make firm
بِهِ
bihil
with it
ٱلۡأَقۡدَامَ
ʹaq̣daam.
your feet
١١
8:12
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
يُوحِي
yooḥee
inspired
رَبُّكَ
Rabbuka
your Lord
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
malaaaʹikati
the Angels
أَنِّي
ʹannee
I am
مَعَكُمۡ
maʻakum
with you
فَثَبِّتُواْ
fas̤abbitul
so strengthen
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْۚ
ʹaamanoo.
believed
سَأُلۡقِي
Saʹulq̣ee
I will cast
فِي
fee
in
قُلُوبِ
q̣uloobil
(the) hearts
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafarur
disbelieved
ٱلرُّعۡبَ
ruʻba
the terror
فَٱضۡرِبُواْ
faḍriboo
so strike
فَوۡقَ
fawq̣al
above
ٱلۡأَعۡنَاقِ
ʹaʻnaaq̣i
the necks
وَٱضۡرِبُواْ
waḍriboo
and strike
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
from them
كُلَّ
kulla
every
بَنَانٖ
banaan.
fingertip[s]
١٢
8:13
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
biʹannahum
(is) because they
شَآقُّواْ
shaaaq̣q̣ul
opposed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥۚ
wa-Rasoolah:
and His Messenger
وَمَن
wa-mañy
And whoever
يُشَاقِقِ
yushaaq̣iq̣il
opposes
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ
wa-Rasoolahoo
and His Messenger
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
شَدِيدُ
shadeedul
(is) severe
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
ʻiq̣aab.
in [the] penalty
١٣
8:14
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
Ẓaalikum
That
فَذُوقُوهُ
faẓooq̣oohu
So taste it
وَأَنَّ
wa-ʹanna
And that
لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireena
for the disbelievers
عَذَابَ
ʻaẓaaban
(is the) punishment
ٱلنَّارِ
Naar.
(of) the Fire
١٤
8:15
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
When
لَقِيتُمُ
laq̣eetumul
you meet
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
زَحۡفٗا
zaḥfañ
advancing
فَلَا
falaa
then (do) not
تُوَلُّوهُمُ
tuwalloohumul
turn to them
ٱلۡأَدۡبَارَ
ʹadbaar.
the backs
١٥
8:16
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يُوَلِّهِمۡ
yuwallihim
turns to them
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawmaʹiẓiñ
that day
دُبُرَهُۥٓ
duburahooo
his back
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مُتَحَرِّفٗا
mutaḥarrifal
(as) a strategy
لِّقِتَالٍ
liq̣itaalin
of war
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
مُتَحَيِّزًا
mutaḥayyizan
(to) join
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
فِئَةٖ
fiʹatiñ
a group
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
certainly
بَآءَ
baaaʹa
(he has) incurred
بِغَضَبٖ
big̣aḍabim
wrath
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَمَأۡوَىٰهُ
wa-maʹwaahu
and his abode
جَهَنَّمُۖ
Jahannam,―
(is) Hell
وَبِئۡسَ
wa-biʹsal
a wretched
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
maṣeer!
destination

8:17
فَلَمۡ
Falam
And not
تَقۡتُلُوهُمۡ
taq̣tuloohum
you kill them
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnal
but
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
قَتَلَهُمۡۚ
q̣atalahum.
killed them
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
رَمَيۡتَ
ramayta
you threw
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
رَمَيۡتَ
ramayta
you threw
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnal
but
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
رَمَىٰ
ramaa:
threw
وَلِيُبۡلِيَ
wa-liyubliyal
and that He may test
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineena
the believers
مِنۡهُ
minhu
from Him
بَلَآءً
balaaaʹan
(with) a trial
حَسَنًاۚ
ḥasanaa:
good
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
سَمِيعٌ
Sameeʻun
(is) All-Hearing
عَلِيمٞ
ʻAleem.
All-Knowing
١٧
8:18
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
Ẓaalikum
That (is the case)
وَأَنَّ
wa-ʹannal
and that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah (is)
مُوهِنُ
moohinu
one who makes weak
كَيۡدِ
kaydil
(the) plan
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
(of) the disbelievers
١٨
8:19
إِن
ʹIñ
If
تَسۡتَفۡتِحُواْ
tastaftiḥoo
you ask for victory
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then certainly
جَآءَكُمُ
jaaaʹakumul
has come to you
ٱلۡفَتۡحُۖ
fatḥ.
the victory
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
تَنتَهُواْ
tañtahoo
you desist
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
then it (is)
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
good
لَّكُمۡۖ
lakum.
for you
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
but if
تَعُودُواْ
taʻoodoo
you return
نَعُدۡ
naʻud.
We will return (too)
وَلَن
Wa-lañ
And never
تُغۡنِيَ
tug̣niya
will avail
عَنكُمۡ
ʻañkum
you
فِئَتُكُمۡ
fiʹatukum
your forces
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
anything
وَلَوۡ
walaw
even if
كَثُرَتۡ
kas̤urat
(they are) numerous
وَأَنَّ
wa-ʹannal
And that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
مَعَ
maʻal
(is) with
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen!
the believers
١٩
8:20
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhaal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe
أَطِيعُواْ
ʹaṭeeʻul
Obey
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ
wa-Rasoolahoo
and His Messenger
وَلَا
wa-laa
And (do) not
تَوَلَّوۡاْ
tawallaw
turn away
عَنۡهُ
ʻanhu
from him
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while you
تَسۡمَعُونَ
tasmaʻoon.
hear
٢٠
8:21
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَكُونُواْ
takoonoo
be
كَٱلَّذِينَ
kallaẓeena
like those who
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
say
سَمِعۡنَا
samiʻnaa
We heard
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَسۡمَعُونَ
yasmaʻoon:
hear
٢١
8:22
۞إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
شَرَّ
sharrad
worst
ٱلدَّوَآبِّ
dawaaabbi
(of) the living creatures
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
near
ٱللَّهِ
laahiṣ
Allah
ٱلصُّمُّ
ṣummul
(are) the deaf
ٱلۡبُكۡمُ
bukmul
the dumb
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡقِلُونَ
yaʻq̣iloon.
use (their) intellect
٢٢
8:23
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
عَلِمَ
ʻalimal
(had) known
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
فِيهِمۡ
feehim
in them
خَيۡرٗا
khayral
any good
لَّأَسۡمَعَهُمۡۖ
laʹasmaʻahum:
surely He (would) have made them hear
وَلَوۡ
wa-law
And if
أَسۡمَعَهُمۡ
ʹasmaʻahum
He had made them hear
لَتَوَلَّواْ
latawallaw
surely they would have turned away
وَّهُم
wahum
while they
مُّعۡرِضُونَ
muʻriḍoon.
(were) averse
٢٣
8:24
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanus
believe
ٱسۡتَجِيبُواْ
tajeeboo
Respond
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
to Allah
وَلِلرَّسُولِ
wa-lir-Rasooli
and His Messenger
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
دَعَاكُمۡ
daʻaakum
he calls you
لِمَا
limaa
to what
يُحۡيِيكُمۡۖ
yuḥyeekum:
gives you life
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
waʻlamooo
And know
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَحُولُ
yaḥoolu
comes
بَيۡنَ
baynal
(in) between
ٱلۡمَرۡءِ
marʹi
a man
وَقَلۡبِهِۦ
wa-q̣albihee
and his heart
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ
wa-ʹannahooo
and that
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
to Him
تُحۡشَرُونَ
tuḥsharoon.
you will be gathered
٢٤
8:25
وَٱتَّقُواْ
Wattaq̣oo
And fear
فِتۡنَةٗ
fitnatal
a trial
لَّا
laa
not
تُصِيبَنَّ
tuṣeebannal
which will afflict
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ظَلَمُواْ
z̤̣alamoo
do wrong
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
خَآصَّةٗۖ
khaaaṣṣah:
exclusively
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
waʻlamooo
And know
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
شَدِيدُ
shadeedul
(is) severe
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
ʻiq̣aab.
(in) the penalty

8:26
وَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْ
Waẓkurooo
And remember
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
أَنتُمۡ
ʹañtum
you
قَلِيلٞ
q̣aleelum
(were) few
مُّسۡتَضۡعَفُونَ
mustaḍʻafoona
(and) deemed weak
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
تَخَافُونَ
takhaafoona
fearing
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ
yatakhaṭṭafakumun
might do away with you
ٱلنَّاسُ
naasu
the men
فَـَٔاوَىٰكُمۡ
faʹaawaakum
then He sheltered you
وَأَيَّدَكُم
wa-ʹayyadakum̃
and strengthened you
بِنَصۡرِهِۦ
binaṣrihee
with His help
وَرَزَقَكُم
wa-razaq̣akum
and provided you
مِّنَ
minaṭ
of
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
ṭayyibaati
the good things
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuroon.
(be) thankful
٢٦
8:27
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَخُونُواْ
takhoonul
betray
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولَ
war-Rasoola
and the Messenger
وَتَخُونُوٓاْ
wa-takhoonooo
or betray
أَمَٰنَٰتِكُمۡ
ʹamaanaatikum
your trusts
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while you
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon.
know
٢٧
8:28
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
Waʻlamooo
And know
أَنَّمَآ
ʹannamaaa
that
أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ
ʹamwaalukum
your wealth
وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ
wa-ʹawlaadukum
and your children
فِتۡنَةٞ
fitnatuñw
(are) a trial
وَأَنَّ
waʹannal
And that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عِندَهُۥٓ
ʻiñdahooo
with Him
أَجۡرٌ
ʹajrun
(is) a reward
عَظِيمٞ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
great
٢٨
8:29
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe
إِن
ʹiñ
If
تَتَّقُواْ
tattaq̣ul
you fear
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَجۡعَل
yajʻal
He will grant
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
you
فُرۡقَانٗا
Furq̣aanañw
a criterion
وَيُكَفِّرۡ
Wayukaffir
and will remove
عَنكُمۡ
ʻañkum
from you
سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ
sayyiʹaatikum
your evil deeds
وَيَغۡفِرۡ
wa-yag̣fir
and forgive
لَكُمۡۗ
lakum.
you
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
ذُو
Ẓul
(is) the Possessor
ٱلۡفَضۡلِ
Faḍlil
(of) Bounty
ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
the Great
٢٩
8:30
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
يَمۡكُرُ
yamkuru
plotted
بِكَ
bikal
against you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
لِيُثۡبِتُوكَ
liyus̤bitooka
that they restrain you
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يَقۡتُلُوكَ
yaq̣tulooka
kill you
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يُخۡرِجُوكَۚ
yukhrijook.
drive you out
وَيَمۡكُرُونَ
Wa-yamkuroona
And they were planning
وَيَمۡكُرُ
wa-yamkurul
and (also) was planning
ٱللَّهُۖ
laah:
Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
خَيۡرُ
Khayrul
is (the) Best
ٱلۡمَٰكِرِينَ
maakireen.
(of) the Planners
٣٠
8:31
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
تُتۡلَىٰ
tutlaa
are recited
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
to them
ءَايَٰتُنَا
ʹAayaatunaa
Our Verses
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they say
قَدۡ
q̣ad
Verily
سَمِعۡنَا
samiʻnaa
we have heard
لَوۡ
law
if
نَشَآءُ
nashaaaʹu
we wish
لَقُلۡنَا
laq̣ulnaa
surely we could say
مِثۡلَ
mis̤la
like
هَٰذَآ
haaẓaaa
this
إِنۡ
ʹin
Not
هَٰذَآ
haaẓaaa
is this
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
but
أَسَٰطِيرُ
ʹasaaṭeerul
tales
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
ʹawwaleen.
(of) the former (people)
٣١
8:32
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قَالُواْ
q̣aalul
they said
ٱللَّهُمَّ
laahumma
O Allah
إِن
ʹiñ
If
كَانَ
kaana
was
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
this
هُوَ
huwal
[it]
ٱلۡحَقَّ
Ḥaq̣q̣a
the truth
مِنۡ
min
[of]
عِندِكَ
ʻiñdika
from You
فَأَمۡطِرۡ
faʹamṭir
then (send) rain
عَلَيۡنَا
ʻalaynaa
upon us
حِجَارَةٗ
ḥijaaratam
(of) stones
مِّنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
أَوِ
ʹawiʹ
or
ٱئۡتِنَا
tinaa
bring (upon) us
بِعَذَابٍ
biʻaẓaabin
a punishment
أَلِيمٖ
ʹaleem.
painful
٣٢
8:33
وَمَا
Wa-maa
But not
كَانَ
kaanal
is
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(for) Allah
لِيُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
liyuʻaẓẓibahum
that He punishes them
وَأَنتَ
wa-ʹañta
while you
فِيهِمۡۚ
feehim;
(are) among them
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
كَانَ
kaanal
is
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
muʻaẓẓibahum
the One Who punishes them
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
يَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
yastag̣firoon.
seek forgiveness

8:34
وَمَا
Wa-maa
But what
لَهُمۡ
lahum
(is) for them
أَلَّا
ʹallaa
that not
يُعَذِّبَهُمُ
yuʻaẓẓibahumul
(should) punish them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
يَصُدُّونَ
yaṣuddoona
hinder (people)
عَنِ
ʻanil
from
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
Masjidil
Al-Masjid
ٱلۡحَرَامِ
Ḥaraami
Al-Haraam
وَمَا
wa-maa
while not
كَانُوٓاْ
kaanooo
they are
أَوۡلِيَآءَهُۥٓۚ
ʹawliyaaaʹah?
its guardians
إِنۡ
ʹIn
Not (can be)
أَوۡلِيَآؤُهُۥٓ
ʹawliyaaaʹuhooo
its guardians
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ
Muttaq̣oona
the ones who fear Allah
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walaakinna
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
ʹaks̤arahum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know
٣٤
8:35
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كَانَ
kaana
was
صَلَاتُهُمۡ
ṣalaatuhum
their prayer
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
at
ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
Bayti
the House
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مُكَآءٗ
mukaaaʹañw
whistling
وَتَصۡدِيَةٗۚ
wataṣdiyah:
and clapping
فَذُوقُواْ
faẓooq̣ul
So taste
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
ʻaẓaaba
the punishment
بِمَا
bimaa
because
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used to
تَكۡفُرُونَ
takfuroon.
disbelieve
٣٥
8:36
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
يُنفِقُونَ
yuñfiq̣oona
they spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ
ʹamwaalahum
their wealth
لِيَصُدُّواْ
liyaṣuddoo
to hinder (people)
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah.
(of) Allah
فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا
Fasayuñfiq̣oonahaa
So they will spend it
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
تَكُونُ
takoonu
it will be
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
for them
حَسۡرَةٗ
ḥasratañ
a regret
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
يُغۡلَبُونَۗ
yug̣laboon.
they will be overcome
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wal-laẓeena
And those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafarooo
disbelieve
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
Hell
يُحۡشَرُونَ
yuḥsharoon.
they will be gathered
٣٦
8:37
لِيَمِيزَ
Liyameezal
That may distinguish
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلۡخَبِيثَ
khabees̤a
the wicked
مِنَ
minaṭ
from
ٱلطَّيِّبِ
ṭayyibi
the good
وَيَجۡعَلَ
wa-yajʻalal
and place
ٱلۡخَبِيثَ
khabees̤a
the wicked
بَعۡضَهُۥ
baʻḍahoo
some of them
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
بَعۡضٖ
baʻḍiñ
others
فَيَرۡكُمَهُۥ
fayarkumahoo
and heap them
جَمِيعٗا
jameeʻañ
all together
فَيَجۡعَلَهُۥ
fayajʻalahoo
and put them
فِي
fee
in
جَهَنَّمَۚ
jahannam.
Hell
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹika
Those
هُمُ
humul
they
ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
khaasiroon.
(are) the losers
٣٧
8:38
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لِّلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
to those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafarooo
disbelieve
إِن
ʹiñy
if
يَنتَهُواْ
yañtahoo
they cease
يُغۡفَرۡ
yug̣far
will be forgiven
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مَّا
maa
what
قَدۡ
q̣ad
[verily]
سَلَفَ
salaf;
(is) past
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
But if
يَعُودُواْ
yaʻoodoo
they return
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then verily
مَضَتۡ
maḍat
preceded
سُنَّتُ
Sunnatul
(the) practice
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
ʹawwaleen.
(of) the former (people)
٣٨
8:39
وَقَٰتِلُوهُمۡ
Wa-q̣aatiloohum
And fight them
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
لَا
laa-
not
تَكُونَ
takoona
there is
فِتۡنَةٞ
fitnatuñw
oppression
وَيَكُونَ
wayakoonad
and is
ٱلدِّينُ
Deenu
the religion
كُلُّهُۥ
kulluhoo
all of it
لِلَّهِۚ
lillaah;
for Allah
فَإِنِ
faʹiniñ
But if
ٱنتَهَوۡاْ
tahaw
they cease
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloona
they do
بَصِيرٞ
Baṣeer.
(is) All-Seer
٣٩
8:40
وَإِن
Wa-ʹin
And if
تَوَلَّوۡاْ
tawallaw
they turn away
فَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
faʻlamooo
then know
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۚ
Mawlaakum―
(is) your Protector
نِعۡمَ
Niʻmal
Excellent
ٱلۡمَوۡلَىٰ
Mawlaa
(is) the Protector
وَنِعۡمَ
wa-Niʻman
and Excellent
ٱلنَّصِيرُ
Naṣeer.
(is) the Helper

8:41
۞وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
Waʻlamooo
And know
أَنَّمَا
ʹannamaa
that what
غَنِمۡتُم
g̣animtum
you obtain (as) spoils of war
مِّن
miñ
of
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
anything
فَأَنَّ
faʹanna
then that
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
for Allah
خُمُسَهُۥ
khumusahoo
(is) one fifth of it
وَلِلرَّسُولِ
wa-lir-Rasooli
and for the Messenger
وَلِذِي
wa-liẓil
and for the
ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ
q̣urbaa
near relatives
وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ
walyataamaa
and the orphans
وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ
walmasaakeeni
and the needy
وَٱبۡنِ
wabnis
and the
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
sabeeli
wayfarer
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you
ءَامَنتُم
ʹaamañtum̃
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and (in) what
أَنزَلۡنَا
ʹañzalnaa
We sent down
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
to
عَبۡدِنَا
ʻAbdinaa
Our slave
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(on the) day
ٱلۡفُرۡقَانِ
Furq̣aani
(of) the criterion
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(the) day
ٱلۡتَقَى
taq̣al
(when) met
ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِۗ
jamʻaan.
the two forces
وَٱللَّهُ
Wal-laahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
Q̣adeer.
All-Powerful
٤١
8:42
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
أَنتُم
ʹañtum̃
you (were)
بِٱلۡعُدۡوَةِ
bilʻudwatid
on side of the valley
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
the nearer
وَهُم
wa-hum̃
and they
بِٱلۡعُدۡوَةِ
bilʻudwatil
(were) on the side
ٱلۡقُصۡوَىٰ
q̣uṣwaa
the farther
وَٱلرَّكۡبُ
warrakbu
and the caravan
أَسۡفَلَ
ʹasfala
(was) lower
مِنكُمۡۚ
miñkum.
than you
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
تَوَاعَدتُّمۡ
tawaaʻattum
you (had) made an appointment
لَٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ
lakhtalaftum
certainly you would have failed
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡمِيعَٰدِ
meeʻaadi
the appointment
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakil
But
لِّيَقۡضِيَ
liyaq̣ḍiyal
that might accomplish
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
أَمۡرٗا
ʹamrañ
a matter
كَانَ
kaana
(that) was
مَفۡعُولٗا
mafʻoolaa;
destined
لِّيَهۡلِكَ
liyahlika
that (might be) destroyed
مَنۡ
man
(those) who
هَلَكَ
halaka
(were to be) destroyed
عَنۢ
ʻam
on
بَيِّنَةٖ
Bayyinatiñw
a clear evidence
وَيَحۡيَىٰ
Wayaḥyaa
and (might) live
مَنۡ
man
(those) who
حَيَّ
ḥayya
(were to) live
عَنۢ
ʻam
on
بَيِّنَةٖۗ
Bayyinah.
a clear evidence
وَإِنَّ
Wa-innal
And indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَسَمِيعٌ
la-Sameeʻun
(is) All-Hearing
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleem.
All-Knowing
٤٢
8:43
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
يُرِيكَهُمُ
yureekahumul
you (where) shown them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(by) Allah
فِي
fee
in
مَنَامِكَ
manaamika
your dream
قَلِيلٗاۖ
q̣aleelaa:
(as) few
وَلَوۡ
wa-law
and if
أَرَىٰكَهُمۡ
ʹaraakahum
He had shown them to you
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeral
(as) many
لَّفَشِلۡتُمۡ
lafashiltum
surely you would have lost courage
وَلَتَنَٰزَعۡتُمۡ
wa-latanaazaʻtum
and surely you would have disputed
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
ʹamri
the matter
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnal
but
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
سَلَّمَۚ
sallam:
saved (you)
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed He
عَلِيمُۢ
ʻAleemum
(is) All-Knower
بِذَاتِ
biẓaatiṣ
of what is in
ٱلصُّدُورِ
ṣudoor.
the breasts
٤٣
8:44
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
يُرِيكُمُوهُمۡ
yureekumoohum
He showed them to you
إِذِ
ʹiẓil
when
ٱلۡتَقَيۡتُمۡ
taq̣aytum
you met
فِيٓ
feee
in
أَعۡيُنِكُمۡ
ʹaʻyunikum
your eyes
قَلِيلٗا
q̣aleelañw
(as) few
وَيُقَلِّلُكُمۡ
wayuq̣allilukum
and He made you (appear) as few
فِيٓ
feee
in
أَعۡيُنِهِمۡ
ʹaʻyunihim
their eyes
لِيَقۡضِيَ
liyaq̣ḍiyal
that might accomplish
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah might accomplish
أَمۡرٗا
ʹamrañ
a matter
كَانَ
kaana
(that) was
مَفۡعُولٗاۗ
mafʻoolaa.
(already) destined
وَإِلَى
Wa-ʹilal
And to
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
تُرۡجَعُ
turjaʻul
return
ٱلۡأُمُورُ
ʹumoor.
(all) the matters
٤٤
8:45
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
When
لَقِيتُمۡ
laq̣eetum
you meet
فِئَةٗ
fiʹatañ
a force
فَٱثۡبُتُواْ
fas̤butoo
then be firm
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ
waẓkurul
and remember
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeral
much
لَّعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تُفۡلِحُونَ
tufliḥoon:
(be) successful
٤٥

8:46
وَأَطِيعُواْ
Wa-ʹaṭeeʻul
And obey
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ
wa-Rasoolahoo
and His Messenger
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَنَٰزَعُواْ
tanaazaʻoo
dispute
فَتَفۡشَلُواْ
fatafshaloo
lest you lose courage
وَتَذۡهَبَ
wa-taẓhaba
and (would) depart
رِيحُكُمۡۖ
reeḥukum
your strength
وَٱصۡبِرُوٓاْۚ
waṣbiroo:
and be patient
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
مَعَ
maʻaṣ
(is) with
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Ṣaabireen.
the patient ones
٤٦
8:47
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَكُونُواْ
takoonoo
be
كَٱلَّذِينَ
kallaẓeena
like those who
خَرَجُواْ
kharajoo
came forth
مِن
miñ
from
دِيَٰرِهِم
diyaarihim̃
their homes
بَطَرٗا
baṭarañw
boastfully
وَرِئَآءَ
wariʹaaaʹan
and showing off
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
(to) the people
وَيَصُدُّونَ
wa-yaṣuddoona
and hinder (them)
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah:
(of) Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloona
they do
مُحِيطٞ
Muḥeeṭ.
(is) All-Encompassing
٤٧
8:48
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
زَيَّنَ
zayyana
made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
lahumush
to them
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ
ʹaʻmaalahum
their deeds
وَقَالَ
Waq̣aala
and he said
لَا
laa-
No (one)
غَالِبَ
g̣aaliba
(can) overcome
لَكُمُ
lakumul
[to] you
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
yawma
today
مِنَ
minan
from
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
the people
وَإِنِّي
wa-ʹinnee
and indeed I am
جَارٞ
jaarul
a neighbor
لَّكُمۡۖ
lakum.
for you
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
But when
تَرَآءَتِ
taraaaʹatil
came in sight
ٱلۡفِئَتَانِ
fiʹataani
the two forces
نَكَصَ
nakaṣa
he turned away
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
عَقِبَيۡهِ
ʻaq̣ibayhi
his heels
وَقَالَ
wa-q̣aala
and said
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I am
بَرِيٓءٞ
bareeeʹum
free
مِّنكُمۡ
miñkum
of you
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَرَىٰ
ʹaraa
see
مَا
Maa
what
لَا
laa-
not
تَرَوۡنَ
tarawna
you see
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
indeed I
أَخَافُ
ʹakhaaful
[I] fear
ٱللَّهَۚ
laah;
Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
شَدِيدُ
Shadeedul
(is) severe
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
ʻiq̣aab.
(in) the penalty
٤٨
8:49
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
يَقُولُ
yaq̣oolul
said
ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقُونَ
Munaafiq̣oona
the hypocrites
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wallaẓeena
and those who
فِي
fee
in
قُلُوبِهِم
q̣uloobihim
their hearts
مَّرَضٌ
maraḍun
(was) a disease
غَرَّ
g̣arra
(Had) deluded
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haaaʹulaaaʹi
these (people)
دِينُهُمۡۗ
Deenuhum.
their religion
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
But whoever
يَتَوَكَّلۡ
yatawakkal
puts (his) trust
عَلَى
ʻalal
in
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
ʻAzeezun
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٞ
Ḥakeem.
All-Wise
٤٩
8:50
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
تَرَىٰٓ
taraaa
you (could) see
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
يَتَوَفَّى
yatawaffal
take away souls
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafarul
disbelieve
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
malaaaʹikatu
the Angels
يَضۡرِبُونَ
yaḍriboona
striking
وُجُوهَهُمۡ
wujoohahum
their faces
وَأَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ
wa-ʹadbaarahum:
and their backs
وَذُوقُواْ
wa-ẓooq̣oo
Taste
عَذَابَ
ʻAẓaabal
(the) punishment
ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
ḥareeq̣!
(of) the Blazing Fire
