7:2كِتَٰبٌKitaabun(This is) a Bookأُنزِلَʹuñzilarevealedإِلَيۡكَʹilaykato youفَلَاfalaaso (let) notيَكُنyakuñbeفِيfeeinصَدۡرِكَṣadrikayour breastحَرَجٞḥarajumany uneasinessمِّنۡهُmin-hufrom itلِتُنذِرَlituñẓirathat you warnبِهِۦbiheewith itوَذِكۡرَىٰwaẓikraaand a reminderلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَlil-Muʹmineen.for the believers٢
7:3ٱتَّبِعُواْʹIttabiʻooFollowمَآmaaawhatأُنزِلَʹuñzilahas been revealedإِلَيۡكُمʹilaykumto youمِّنmirfromرَّبِّكُمۡrabbikumyour Lordوَلَاwa-laaand (do) notتَتَّبِعُواْtattabiʻoofollowمِنmiñfromدُونِهِۦٓdooniheeebeside Himأَوۡلِيَآءَۗʹawliyaaaʹ.any alliesقَلِيلٗاQ̣aleelamLittleمَّاmaa(is) whatتَذَكَّرُونَtaẓakkaroon.you remember٣
7:4وَكَمWa-kamAnd how manyمِّنmiñofقَرۡيَةٍq̣aryatina cityأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَاʹahlaknaahaaWe destroyed itفَجَآءَهَاfajaaaʹahaaand came to itبَأۡسُنَاbaʹsunaaOur punishmentبَيَٰتًاbayaatan(at) nightأَوۡʹaworهُمۡhum(while) theyقَآئِلُونَq̣aaaʹiloon?were sleeping at noon٤
7:5فَمَاFamaaThen notكَانَkaanawasدَعۡوَىٰهُمۡdaʻwaahumtheir pleaإِذۡʹiẓwhenجَآءَهُمjaaaʹahum̃came to themبَأۡسُنَآbaʹsunaaaOur punishmentإِلَّآʹillaaaexceptأَنʹañthatقَالُوٓاْq̣aalooothey saidإِنَّاʹinnaaIndeed weكُنَّاkunnaawereظَٰلِمِينَz̤̣aalimeen.wrongdoers٥
7:6فَلَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّfalanasʹalannalThen surely We will questionٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose (to) whomأُرۡسِلَursilawere sentإِلَيۡهِمۡʹilayhimto them (Messengers)وَلَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّwa-lanasʹalannaland surely We will questionٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَmursaleen.the Messengers٦
7:7فَلَنَقُصَّنَّFalanaq̣uṣṣannaThen surely We will narrateعَلَيۡهِمʻalayhim̃to themبِعِلۡمٖۖbiʻilmiñwwith knowledgeوَمَاwamaaand notكُنَّاkunnaawere Weغَآئِبِينَg̣aaaʹibeen.absent٧
7:8وَٱلۡوَزۡنُWalwaznuAnd the weighingيَوۡمَئِذٍYawmaʹiẓinilthat dayٱلۡحَقُّۚḥaq̣q̣.(will be) the truthفَمَنFamañSo whose ثَقُلَتۡs̤aq̣ulat(will be) heavyمَوَٰزِينُهُۥmawaazeenuhoohis scalesفَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَfaʹulaaaʹikathen thoseهُمُhumul[they]ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَMufliḥoon.(will be) the successful ones٨
7:9وَمَنۡWa-manAnd (for) thoseخَفَّتۡkhaffat(will be) lightمَوَٰزِينُهُۥmawaazeenuhoohis scalesفَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَfaʹulaaaikalso thoseٱلَّذِينَlaẓeena(will be) the ones whoخَسِرُوٓاْkhasirooolostأَنفُسَهُمañfusahum̃themselvesبِمَاbimaabecauseكَانُواْkaanoothey wereبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹAayaatinaato Our Versesيَظۡلِمُونَyaz̤̣limoon.(doing) injustice٩
7:10وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyمَكَّنَّٰكُمۡmakkannaakumWe established youفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe earthوَجَعَلۡنَاwa-jaʻalnaaand We madeلَكُمۡlakumfor youفِيهَاfeehaain itمَعَٰيِشَۗmaʻaayish:livelihoodقَلِيلٗاq̣aleelamLittleمَّاmaa(is) whatتَشۡكُرُونَtashkuroon!you (are) grateful١٠
7:11وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡkhalaq̣naakumWe created youثُمَّs̤ummathenصَوَّرۡنَٰكُمۡṣawwarnaakumWe fashioned youثُمَّs̤ummaThenقُلۡنَاq̣ulnaaWe saidلِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِlil-malaaaʹikatisto the AngelsٱسۡجُدُواْjudooProstrateلِأٓدَمَliʹAadamato AdamفَسَجَدُوٓاْfasajadoooSo they prostratedإِلَّآʹillaaaexceptإِبۡلِيسَʹIblees;IblisلَمۡlamNotيَكُنyakumhe wasمِّنَminasofٱلسَّٰجِدِينَsaajideen.those who prostrated١١
7:12قَالَQ̣aala(Allah) saidمَاmaa-Whatمَنَعَكَmanaʻakaprevented youأَلَّاʹallaathat notتَسۡجُدَtasjudayou prostrateإِذۡʹiẓwhenأَمَرۡتُكَۖʹamartuk?I commanded youقَالَQ̣aala(Shaitaan) saidأَنَا۠ʹanaI amخَيۡرٞkhayrumbetterمِّنۡهُminh.than himخَلَقۡتَنِيKhalaq̣taneeYou created meمِنmiñfromنَّارٖnaariñwfireوَخَلَقۡتَهُۥwakhalaq̣tahooand You created himمِنmiñfromطِينٖṭeen.clay١٢
7:13قَالَQ̣aala(Allah) saidفَٱهۡبِطۡfahbiṭThen go downمِنۡهَاminhaafrom itفَمَاfamaafor notيَكُونُyakoonuit isلَكَlakafor youأَنʹañthatتَتَكَبَّرَtatakabbarayou be arrogantفِيهَاfeehaain itفَٱخۡرُجۡfakhrujSo get outإِنَّكَʹinnakaindeed youمِنَminaṣ(are) ofٱلصَّٰغِرِينَṣaag̣ireen.the disgraced ones١٣
7:14قَالَQ̣aala(Shaitaan) saidأَنظِرۡنِيٓʹañz̤̣irneeeGive me respiteإِلَىٰʹilaatillيَوۡمِyawmi(the) Dayيُبۡعَثُونَyubʻas̤oon.they are raised up١٤
7:15قَالَQ̣aala(Allah) saidإِنَّكَʹinnakaIndeed youمِنَminal(are) ofٱلۡمُنظَرِينَmuñz̤̣areen.the ones given respite١٥
7:16قَالَQ̣aala(Shaitaan) saidفَبِمَآfabimaaaBecauseأَغۡوَيۡتَنِيʹag̣waytaneeYou have sent me astrayلَأَقۡعُدَنَّlaʹaq̣ʻudannasurely I will sitلَهُمۡlahumfor themصِرَٰطَكَṢiraaṭakal(on) Your pathٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَMustaq̣eem:the straight١٦
7:17ثُمَّS̤ummaThenلَأٓتِيَنَّهُمlaʹaatiyannahumsurely I will come to themمِّنۢmimfromبَيۡنِbaynibeforeأَيۡدِيهِمۡʹaydeehimthemوَمِنۡwa-minand fromخَلۡفِهِمۡkhalfihimbehind themوَعَنۡwa-ʻanand fromأَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡʹaymaanihimtheir rightوَعَنwa-ʻañand fromشَمَآئِلِهِمۡۖshamaaaʹilihim:their leftوَلَاwa-laaand notتَجِدُtajiduYou (will) findأَكۡثَرَهُمۡʹaks̤arahummost of themشَٰكِرِينَshaakireen.grateful١٧
7:18قَالَQ̣aala(Allah) saidٱخۡرُجۡkhrujGet outمِنۡهَاminhaaof itمَذۡءُومٗاmaẓʹoomamdisgracedمَّدۡحُورٗاۖmadḥooraa.and expelledلَّمَنLamañCertainly whoeverتَبِعَكَtabiʻakafollows youمِنۡهُمۡminhumamong themلَأَمۡلَأَنَّlaʹamlaʹannasurely I will fillجَهَنَّمَJahannamaHellمِنكُمۡmiñkumwith youأَجۡمَعِينَʹajmaʻeen.all١٨
7:19وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُWa-yaaaʹAadamusAnd O AdamٱسۡكُنۡkunDwellأَنتَʹañtayouوَزَوۡجُكَwa-zawjukaland your wifeٱلۡجَنَّةَjannata(in) the Gardenفَكُلَاfakulaaand you both eatمِنۡminfromحَيۡثُḥays̤uwhereverشِئۡتُمَاshiʹtumaayou both wishوَلَاwa-laabut (do) notتَقۡرَبَاtaq̣rabaaapproach [both of you]هَٰذِهِhaaẓihishthisٱلشَّجَرَةَshajarata[the] treeفَتَكُونَاfatakoonalest you both beمِنَminaz̤̣amongٱلظَّٰلِمِينَz̤̣aalimeen.the wrongdoers١٩
7:20فَوَسۡوَسَFawaswasaThen whisperedلَهُمَاlahumashto both of themٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُShayṭaanuthe Shaitaanلِيُبۡدِيَliyubdiyato make apparentلَهُمَاlahumaato both of themمَاmaa-whatوُۥرِيَwooriyawas concealedعَنۡهُمَاʻanhumaafrom both of themمِنmiñofسَوۡءَٰتِهِمَاsaw-ʹaatihimaatheir shameوَقَالَwaq̣aalaAnd he saidمَاmaa-(Did) notنَهَىٰكُمَاnahaakumaaforbid you bothرَبُّكُمَاRabbukumaayour Lordعَنۡʻanfromهَٰذِهِhaaẓihishthisٱلشَّجَرَةِshajarati[the] treeإِلَّآʹillaaaexceptأَنʹañthatتَكُونَاtakoonaayou two becomeمَلَكَيۡنِmalakayniAngelsأَوۡʹaworتَكُونَاtakoonaayou two becomeمِنَminalofٱلۡخَٰلِدِينَkhaalideen.the immortals٢٠
7:21وَقَاسَمَهُمَآWa-q̣aasamahumaaaAnd he swore (to) both of themإِنِّيʹinneeIndeed I amلَكُمَاlakumaato both of youلَمِنَlaminanamongٱلنَّٰصِحِينَnaaṣiḥeen.the sincere advisors٢١
7:22فَدَلَّىٰهُمَاFadal-laahumaaSo he made both of them fallبِغُرُورٖۚbig̣uroor.by deceptionفَلَمَّاFalammaaThen whenذَاقَاẓaaq̣ashthey both tastedٱلشَّجَرَةَshajaratathe treeبَدَتۡbadatbecame apparentلَهُمَاlahumaato both of themسَوۡءَٰتُهُمَاsaw-ʹaatuhumaatheir shameوَطَفِقَاwaṭafiq̣aaand they beganيَخۡصِفَانِyakhṣifaani(to) fastenعَلَيۡهِمَاʻalayhimaaover themselvesمِنmiñwfromوَرَقِwaraq̣il(the) leavesٱلۡجَنَّةِۖJannah.(of) the GardenوَنَادَىٰهُمَاWa-naadaa-humaaAnd called them bothرَبُّهُمَآRabbuhumaaatheir LordأَلَمۡʹalamDid notأَنۡهَكُمَاʹanhakumaaI forbid you bothعَنʻañfromتِلۡكُمَاtil-kumashthisٱلشَّجَرَةِshajarati[the] treeوَأَقُلwa-ʹaq̣uland [I] sayلَّكُمَآlakumaaato both of youإِنَّʹinnashthatٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَShayṭaana[the] Shaitaanلَكُمَاlakumaato both of youعَدُوّٞʻaduwwum(is) an enemyمُّبِينٞmubeen?open٢٢
7:23قَالَاQ̣aalaaBoth of them saidرَبَّنَاRabbanaaOur Lordظَلَمۡنَآz̤̣alamnaaawe have wrongedأَنفُسَنَاʹañfusanaa:ourselvesوَإِنwa-ʹiland ifلَّمۡlamnotتَغۡفِرۡtag̣firYou forgiveلَنَاlanaa[for] usوَتَرۡحَمۡنَاwa-tarḥamnaaand have mercy (on) usلَنَكُونَنَّlanakoonannasurely we will beمِنَminalamongٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَKhaasireen.the losers٢٣
7:24قَالَQ̣aalah(Allah) saidٱهۡبِطُواْbiṭooGet downبَعۡضُكُمۡbaʻḍukumsome of youلِبَعۡضٍlibaʻḍinto some othersعَدُوّٞۖʻaduww.(as) enemyوَلَكُمۡWa-lakumAnd for youفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe earthمُسۡتَقَرّٞmustaq̣arruñw(is) a dwelling placeوَمَتَٰعٌwamataaʻunand livelihoodإِلَىٰʹilaaforحِينٖḥeen.a time٢٤
7:25قَالَQ̣aalaHe saidفِيهَاfeehaaIn itتَحۡيَوۡنَtaḥ-yawnayou will liveوَفِيهَاwa-feehaaand in itتَمُوتُونَtamootoonayou will dieوَمِنۡهَاwa-minhaaand from itتُخۡرَجُونَtukhrajoon.you will be brought forth٢٥
7:26يَٰبَنِيٓYaa-BaneeeO Childrenءَادَمَʹaadama(of) Adamقَدۡq̣adVerilyأَنزَلۡنَاʹañzalnaaWe have sent downعَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykumto youلِبَاسٗاlibaasañyclothingيُوَٰرِيyuwaareeit coversسَوۡءَٰتِكُمۡsaw-ʹaatikumyour shameوَرِيشٗاۖwa-reeshaa.and (as) an adornmentوَلِبَاسُWa-libaasutBut the clothingٱلتَّقۡوَىٰtaq̣waa(of) [the] righteousness ذَٰلِكَẓaalikathatخَيۡرٞۚkhayr.(is) bestذَٰلِكَẒaalikaThatمِنۡmin(is) fromءَايَٰتِʹAayaatil(the) Signsٱللَّهِlaahi(of) Allahلَعَلَّهُمۡlaʻallahumso that they mayيَذَّكَّرُونَyaẓ-ẓakkaroon.remember٢٦
7:27يَٰبَنِيٓYaa-BaneeeO ChildrenءَادَمَʹAadama(of) Adamلَاlaa-(Let) notيَفۡتِنَنَّكُمُyaftinannakumushtempt youٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُShayṭaanu[the] Shaitaanكَمَآkamaaaasأَخۡرَجَʹakhrajahe drove outأَبَوَيۡكُمʹa-bawaykumyour parentsمِّنَminalfromٱلۡجَنَّةِJannatiParadiseيَنزِعُyañziʻustrippingعَنۡهُمَاʻanhumaafrom both of themلِبَاسَهُمَاlibaasahumaatheir clothingلِيُرِيَهُمَاliyuriyahumaato show both of themسَوۡءَٰتِهِمَآۚsaw-ʹaati-himaa.their shameإِنَّهُۥʹInnahooIndeed heيَرَىٰكُمۡyaraakumsees you هُوَhuwaheوَقَبِيلُهُۥwa-q̣abeeluhooand his tribeمِنۡminfromحَيۡثُḥays̤uwhereلَاlaa-notتَرَوۡنَهُمۡۗtarawnahum.you see themإِنَّاʹInnaaIndeedجَعَلۡنَاjaʻalnashWe have madeٱلشَّيَٰطِينَshayaaṭeenathe devilsأَوۡلِيَآءَʹawliyaaaʹafriendsلِلَّذِينَlillaẓeenaof those whoلَاlaa-(do) notيُؤۡمِنُونَyuʹminoon.believe٢٧
7:28وَإِذَاWa-ʹiẓaaAnd whenفَعَلُواْfaʻaloothey doفَٰحِشَةٗfaaḥishatañimmoralityقَالُواْq̣aaloothey sayوَجَدۡنَاwajadnaaWe foundعَلَيۡهَآʻalayhaaaon itءَابَآءَنَاʹaabaaaʹanaaour forefathersوَٱللَّهُwallaahuand Allahأَمَرَنَاʹa-maranaa(has) ordered usبِهَاۗbihaa.of itقُلۡQ̣ulSayإِنَّʹinnalIndeedٱللَّهَlaahaAllahلَاlaa-(does) notيَأۡمُرُyaʹmuruorderبِٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِۖbilfaḥshaaaʹ.immoralityأَتَقُولُونَʹA-taq̣ooloonaDo you sayعَلَىʻalalaboutٱللَّهِlaahiAllahمَاmaawhatلَاlaa-notتَعۡلَمُونَtaʻlamoon?you know٢٨
7:29قُلۡQ̣ulSayأَمَرَʹamara(Has been) orderedرَبِّيRabbee(by) my Lordبِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖbil-q̣isṭ.justiceوَأَقِيمُواْWa-ʹaq̣eemooand setوُجُوهَكُمۡwujoohakumyour facesعِندَʻiñdaatكُلِّkullieveryمَسۡجِدٖmasjidiñwmasjidوَٱدۡعُوهُwadʻoohuand invoke Himمُخۡلِصِينَmukhliṣeena(being) sincereلَهُlahudto Himٱلدِّينَۚdeen.(in) the religionكَمَاKamaaAsبَدَأَكُمۡbadaʹakumHe originated youتَعُودُونَtaʻoodoon.(so) will you return٢٩
7:30فَرِيقًاFareeq̣anA groupهَدَىٰhadaaHe guidedوَفَرِيقًاwa-fareeq̣anand a groupحَقَّḥaq̣q̣adeserved عَلَيۡهِمُʻalayhimuḍ[on] theyٱلضَّلَٰلَةُۚḍalaalah:the astrayingإِنَّهُمُʹinnahumutIndeed theyٱتَّخَذُواْtakhaẓushtakeٱلشَّيَٰطِينَshayaaṭeenathe devilsأَوۡلِيَآءَʹawliyaaaʹa(as) alliesمِنmiñfromدُونِdoonilbesidesٱللَّهِlaahiAllahوَيَحۡسَبُونَwa-yaḥsaboonawhile they thinkأَنَّهُمʹannahumthat theyمُّهۡتَدُونَmuhtadoon.(are the) guided-ones٣٠
7:31۞يَٰبَنِيٓYaa-BaaneeeO ChildrenءَادَمَʹAadama(of) AdamخُذُواْkhuẓooTakeزِينَتَكُمۡzeenatakumyour adornmentعِندَʻiñdaatكُلِّkullieveryمَسۡجِدٖmasjidiñwmasjidوَكُلُواْwakulooand eatوَٱشۡرَبُواْwashrabooand drinkوَلَاwa-laabut (do) notتُسۡرِفُوٓاْۚtusrifoo,be extravagantإِنَّهُۥinnahooIndeed Heلَاlaa-(does) notيُحِبُّyuḥibbulloveٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَmusrifeen.the extravagant ones٣١
7:32قُلۡQ̣ulSayمَنۡmanWhoحَرَّمَḥarramahas forbiddenزِينَةَzeenatal(the) adornmentٱللَّهِlaahil(from) AllahٱلَّتِيٓlateeewhichأَخۡرَجَʹakhrajaHe has brought forthلِعِبَادِهِۦliʻibaadiheefor His slavesوَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِwaṭ-ṭayyibaatiand the pure thingsمِنَminarofٱلرِّزۡقِۚrizq̣?sustenanceقُلۡQ̣ulSayهِيَhiyaTheyلِلَّذِينَlil-laẓeena(are) for those whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelieveفِيfilduringٱلۡحَيَوٰةِḥayaatidthe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاdunyaa(of) the worldخَالِصَةٗkhaaliṣatañyexclusively (for them)يَوۡمَYawmal(on the) DayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۗQ̣iyaamah.(of) ResurrectionكَذَٰلِكَKaẓaalikaThusنُفَصِّلُnufaṣṣilulWe explainٱلۡأٓيَٰتِʹAayaatithe Signsلِقَوۡمٖliq̣awmiñyfor (the) peopleيَعۡلَمُونَyaʻlamoon.who know٣٢
7:33قُلۡQ̣ulSayإِنَّمَاʹinnamaaOnlyحَرَّمَḥarrama(had) forbiddenرَبِّيَRabbiyalmy Lordٱلۡفَوَٰحِشَfawaaḥishathe shameful deedsمَاmaa-whatظَهَرَz̤̣ahara(is) apparentمِنۡهَاminhaaof itوَمَاwa-maaand whatبَطَنَbaṭanais concealedوَٱلۡإِثۡمَwal-ʹis̤maand the sinوَٱلۡبَغۡيَwal-bag̣yaand the oppressionبِغَيۡرِbig̣ayrilwithoutٱلۡحَقِّḥaq̣q̣i[the] rightوَأَنwa-ʹañand thatتُشۡرِكُواْtushrikooyou associate (others)بِٱللَّهِbillaahiwith Allahمَاmaa-whatلَمۡlamnotيُنَزِّلۡyunazzilHe (has) sent downبِهِۦbiheeof itسُلۡطَٰنٗاsulṭaanañwany authorityوَأَنwaʹañand thatتَقُولُواْtaq̣oolooyou sayعَلَىʻalalaboutٱللَّهِlaahiAllahمَاmaawhatلَاlaa-notتَعۡلَمُونَtaʻlamoon.you know٣٣
7:34وَلِكُلِّWa-likulliAnd for everyأُمَّةٍʹummatinnationأَجَلٞۖʹajal:(is a fixed) termفَإِذَاfaʹiẓaaSo whenجَآءَjaaaʹacomesأَجَلُهُمۡʹajaluhumtheir termلَاlaa-(they can) notيَسۡتَأۡخِرُونَyastaʹkhiroonaseek to delayسَاعَةٗsaaʻatañwan hourوَلَاwalaaand notيَسۡتَقۡدِمُونَyastaq̣dimoon.seek to advance (it)٣٤
7:35يَٰبَنِيٓYaa-BaneeeO ChildrenءَادَمَʹAadama(of) AdamإِمَّاʹimmaaIfيَأۡتِيَنَّكُمۡyaʹtiyannakumcome to youرُسُلٞrusulumMessengersمِّنكُمۡmiñkumfrom youيَقُصُّونَyaq̣uṣṣoonarelatingعَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykumto youءَايَٰتِيʹAayaateeMy Versesفَمَنِfamanitthen whoeverٱتَّقَىٰtaq̣aafears Allahوَأَصۡلَحَwa-ʹaṣlaḥaand reformsفَلَاfalaathen noخَوۡفٌkhawfunfearعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimon themوَلَاwa-laaand notهُمۡhumtheyيَحۡزَنُونَyaḥzanoon.will grieve٣٥
7:36وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenaBut those whoكَذَّبُواْkaẓẓaboodenyبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹAayaatinaaOur Versesوَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْwastakbarooand (are) arrogantعَنۡهَآʻan-haaatowards themأُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹulaaaʹikathoseأَصۡحَٰبُʹAṣḥaabun(are the) companionsٱلنَّارِۖNaari(of) the Fireهُمۡhumtheyفِيهَاfeehaain itخَٰلِدُونَkhaalidoon.will abide forever٣٦
7:37فَمَنۡFamanThen whoأَظۡلَمُʹaz̤̣lamu(is) more unjustمِمَّنِmimmanifthan (one) whoٱفۡتَرَىٰtaraainventedعَلَىʻalalagainstٱللَّهِlaahiAllahكَذِبًاkaẓibana lieأَوۡʹaworكَذَّبَkaẓẓabadeniesبِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓۚbiʹAayaatih?His VersesأُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹUlaaaʹikaThose يَنَالُهُمۡyanaaluhumwill reach themنَصِيبُهُمnaṣeebuhumtheir portionمِّنَminalfromٱلۡكِتَٰبِۖKitaab:the BookحَتَّىٰٓḤattaaauntilإِذَاʹiẓaawhenجَآءَتۡهُمۡjaaaʹathumcomes to themرُسُلُنَاrusulunaaOur messengers (Angels)يَتَوَفَّوۡنَهُمۡyatawaffawnahum(to) take them in deathقَالُوٓاْq̣aalooothey sayأَيۡنَʹaynaWhere areمَاmaa-those (whom)كُنتُمۡkuñtumyou used toتَدۡعُونَtadʻoonainvokeمِنmiñfromدُونِdoonilbesidesٱللَّهِۖlaah?AllahقَالُواْQ̣aalooThey sayضَلُّواْḍallooThey strayedعَنَّاʻannaafrom usوَشَهِدُواْwa-shahidooand they (will) testifyعَلَىٰٓʻalaaaagainstأَنفُسِهِمۡʹañfusihimthemselvesأَنَّهُمۡʹannahumthat theyكَانُواْkaanoowereكَٰفِرِينَkaafireen.disbelievers٣٧
7:38قَالَQ̣aaladHe (will) sayٱدۡخُلُواْkhulooEnterفِيٓfeeeamongأُمَمٖʹu-mamiñ(the) nationsقَدۡq̣ad(who)خَلَتۡkhalatpassed awayمِنmiñfromقَبۡلِكُمq̣ab-likumbefore youمِّنَminalofٱلۡجِنِّjinnithe jinnوَٱلۡإِنسِwal-ʹiñsiand the menفِيfininٱلنَّارِۖNaar.the FireكُلَّمَاKullamaaEvery timeدَخَلَتۡdakhalatenteredأُمَّةٞʹummatula nationلَّعَنَتۡlaʻanatit cursedأُخۡتَهَاۖʹukhtahaa,its sister (nation)حَتَّىٰٓḥattaaauntilإِذَاʹiẓadwhenٱدَّارَكُواْdaa-rakoothey had overtaken one anotherفِيهَاfeehaain itجَمِيعٗاjameeʻañallقَالَتۡQ̣aalat(will) sayأُخۡرَىٰهُمۡʹukh-raahum(the) last of themلِأُولَىٰهُمۡliʹoolaahumabout the first of themرَبَّنَاRabbanaaOur Lordهَٰٓؤُلَآءِhaaaʹulaaaʹitheseأَضَلُّونَاʹaḍal-loonaamisled usفَـَٔاتِهِمۡfaʹaatihimso give themعَذَابٗاʻaẓaabañpunishmentضِعۡفٗاḍiʻfamdoubleمِّنَminanofٱلنَّارِۖNaar.the FireقَالَQ̣aalaHe (will) sayلِكُلّٖlikulliñFor eachضِعۡفٞḍiʻfuñw(is) a doubleوَلَٰكِنwalaakil[and] butلَّاlaanotتَعۡلَمُونَtaʻlamoon.you know٣٨
7:39وَقَالَتۡWa-q̣aalatAnd (will) sayأُولَىٰهُمۡʹoolaahum(the) first of themلِأُخۡرَىٰهُمۡliʹukhraahumto (the) last of themفَمَاfamaaThen notكَانَkaanaisلَكُمۡlakumfor youعَلَيۡنَاʻalaynaaupon usمِنmiñanyفَضۡلٖfaḍliñsuperiorityفَذُوقُواْfaẓooq̣ulso tasteٱلۡعَذَابَʻaẓaabathe punishmentبِمَاbimaafor whatكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou used toتَكۡسِبُونَtaksiboon.earn٣٩
7:40إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَذَّبُواْkaẓẓaboodeniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹAayaatinaaOur Versesوَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْwastakbarooand (were) arrogantعَنۡهَاʻanhaatowards themلَاlaa-(will) notتُفَتَّحُtufattaḥube openedلَهُمۡlahumfor themأَبۡوَٰبُʹabwaabus(the) doorsٱلسَّمَآءِsamaaaʹi(of) the heavenوَلَاwa-laaand notيَدۡخُلُونَyad-khuloonalthey will enterٱلۡجَنَّةَJannataParadiseحَتَّىٰḥattaauntilيَلِجَyalijalpassesٱلۡجَمَلُjamaluthe camelفِيfeethroughسَمِّsammil(the) eyeٱلۡخِيَاطِۚkhiyaaṭ:(of) the needleوَكَذَٰلِكَwa-kaẓaalikaAnd thusنَجۡزِيnajzilWe recompenseٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَmujrimeen.the criminals٤٠
7:41لَهُمLahumFor themمِّنmiñofجَهَنَّمَJahannama(the) Hellمِهَادٞmihaaduñw(is) a bedوَمِنwamiñand fromفَوۡقِهِمۡfaw-q̣ihimover themغَوَاشٖۚg̣awaash:coveringsوَكَذَٰلِكَwakaẓaalikaAnd thusنَجۡزِيnajziz̤̣We recompenseٱلظَّٰلِمِينَz̤̣aalimeen.the wrongdoers٤١
7:42وَٱلَّذِينَWal-laẓeenaBut those whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelieveوَعَمِلُواْwaʻamiluṣand doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِṣaaliḥaati[the] righteous deedsلَاlaa-notنُكَلِّفُnukallifuWe burdenنَفۡسًاnafsanany soulإِلَّاʹillaaexceptوُسۡعَهَآwusʻahaaa,(to) its capacityأُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹulaaaʹikaThoseأَصۡحَٰبُʹAṣḥaabul(are the) companionsٱلۡجَنَّةِۖJannati(of) Paradiseهُمۡhumtheyفِيهَاfeehaain itخَٰلِدُونَkhaalidoon.(will) abide forever٤٢
7:43وَنَزَعۡنَاWanazaʻnaaAnd We will removeمَاmaa-whateverفِيfee(is) inصُدُورِهِمṣudoorihimtheir breastsمِّنۡminofغِلّٖg̣illiñmaliceتَجۡرِيtajreeFlowsمِنmiñfromتَحۡتِهِمُtaḥ-tihimulunderneath themٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖʹanhaar;the riversوَقَالُواْwa-q̣aalulAnd they will sayٱلۡحَمۡدُḤamduAll the praiseلِلَّهِlil-laahil(is) for Allahٱلَّذِيlaẓeethe One Whoهَدَىٰنَاhadaanaaguided usلِهَٰذَاlihaaẓaa:to thisوَمَاwa-maaand notكُنَّاkunnaawe wereلِنَهۡتَدِيَlinahtadiyato receive guidanceلَوۡلَآlaw-laaaif notأَنۡʹan[that]هَدَىٰنَاhadaanal(had) guided usٱللَّهُۖlaah.AllahلَقَدۡLaq̣adCertainlyجَآءَتۡjaaaʹatcameرُسُلُrusuluMessengersرَبِّنَاRabbinaa(of) our Lordبِٱلۡحَقِّۖbilḥaq̣q̣.with the truthوَنُودُوٓاْWa-noodoooAnd they will be addressedأَنʹañ[that]تِلۡكُمُtil-kumulThisٱلۡجَنَّةُJannatu(is) Paradiseأُورِثۡتُمُوهَاʹooris̤tumoohaayou have been made to inherit itبِمَاbimaafor whatكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou used toتَعۡمَلُونَtaʻmaloon.do٤٣
7:44وَنَادَىٰٓWa-naadaaaAnd will call outأَصۡحَٰبُʹAṣḥaabul(the) companionsٱلۡجَنَّةِJannati(of) ParadiseأَصۡحَٰبَʹAṣḥaaban(to the) companionsٱلنَّارِNaari(of) the Fireأَنʹañthatقَدۡq̣adIndeedوَجَدۡنَاwajadnaawe foundمَاmaa-whatوَعَدَنَاwaʻadanaa(had) promised usرَبُّنَاRabbunaaour Lordحَقّٗاḥaq̣q̣añtrueفَهَلۡfahalSo haveوَجَدتُّمwajattumyou foundمَّاmaawhatوَعَدَwaʻada(was) promisedرَبُّكُمۡRabbukum(by) your Lordحَقّٗاۖḥaq̣q̣aa?(to be) trueقَالُواْQ̣aalooThey will sayنَعَمۡۚnaʻam.YesفَأَذَّنَFaʹaẓẓanaThen will announceمُؤَذِّنُۢMuʹaẓẓinuman announcerبَيۡنَهُمۡbaynahumamong themأَنʹal[that]لَّعۡنَةُlaʻnatul(The) curseٱللَّهِlaahi(of) Allahعَلَىʻalaz̤̣(is) onٱلظَّٰلِمِينَz̤̣aalimeen;―the wrongdoers٤٤
7:45ٱلَّذِينَʹAllaẓeenaThose whoيَصُدُّونَyaṣuddoonahinderعَنʻañfromسَبِيلِSabeelil(the) wayٱللَّهِlaahi(of) Allahوَيَبۡغُونَهَاwa-yabg̣oonahaaand seek in itعِوَجٗاʻiwajaa:crookednessوَهُمwa-hum̃while they (are)بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِbil-ʹAakhiraticoncerning the Hereafterكَٰفِرُونَkaafiroon.disbelievers٤٥
7:46وَبَيۡنَهُمَاWa-baynahumaaAnd between themحِجَابٞۚḥijaab.(will be) a partitionوَعَلَىWa-ʻalaland onٱلۡأَعۡرَافِʹAʻRAAFIthe heightsرِجَالٞrijaaluñy(will be) menيَعۡرِفُونَyaʻrifoonarecognizingكُلَّۢاkullamallبِسِيمَىٰهُمۡۚbiseemaahum.by their marksوَنَادَوۡاْWa-naadawAnd they will call outأَصۡحَٰبَʹAṣḥaabal(to the) companionsٱلۡجَنَّةِJannati(of) ParadiseأَنʹañthatسَلَٰمٌSalaamunPeaceعَلَيۡكُمۡۚʻalaykum:(be) upon youلَمۡlamNotيَدۡخُلُوهَاyad-khuloohaathey have entered itوَهُمۡwa-humbut theyيَطۡمَعُونَyaṭmaʻoon.hope٤٦
7:47۞وَإِذَاWa-ʹiẓaaAnd whenصُرِفَتۡṣurifatare turnedأَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡʹabṣaaruhumtheir eyesتِلۡقَآءَtilq̣aaaʹatowardsأَصۡحَٰبِʹAṣḥaabin(the) companionsٱلنَّارِNaari(of) the Fireقَالُواْq̣aaloothey (will) sayرَبَّنَاRabbanaaOur Lordلَاlaa-(Do) notتَجۡعَلۡنَاtajʻalnaaplace usمَعَmaʻalwithٱلۡقَوۡمِq̣awmiz̤̣the people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَz̤̣aalimeen.the wrongdoers٤٧
7:48وَنَادَىٰٓWa-naadaaaAnd (will) call outأَصۡحَٰبُʹAṣḥaabul(the) companionsٱلۡأَعۡرَافِʹAʻRAAFI(of) the heightsرِجَالٗاrijaalañy(to) menيَعۡرِفُونَهُمyaʻrifoonahum̃whom they recognizeبِسِيمَىٰهُمۡbiseemaahumby their marksقَالُواْq̣aaloosayingمَآmaaaNotأَغۡنَىٰʹag̣naa(has) availedعَنكُمۡʻañkum[to] youجَمۡعُكُمۡjamʻukumyour gatheringوَمَاwa-maaand whatكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou wereتَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَtastakbiroon?arrogant (about)٤٨
7:49أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِʹA-haaaʹulaaaʹilAre theseٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathe ones whomأَقۡسَمۡتُمۡʹaq̣samtumyou had swornلَاlaa-(that) notيَنَالُهُمُyanaaluhumul(will) grant themٱللَّهُlaahuAllahبِرَحۡمَةٍۚbiraḥmah?MercyٱدۡخُلُواْʹUdkhululEnterٱلۡجَنَّةَJannataParadiseلَاlaa-(There will be) noخَوۡفٌkhawfunfearعَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykumupon youوَلَآwa-laaaand notأَنتُمۡʹañtumyouتَحۡزَنُونَtaḥ-zanoon.will grieve٤٩
7:50وَنَادَىٰٓWa-naadaaaAnd (will) call outأَصۡحَٰبُʹAṣḥaabun(the) companionsٱلنَّارِNaari(of) the FireأَصۡحَٰبَʹAṣḥaabal(to the) companionsٱلۡجَنَّةِJannati(of) Paradiseأَنۡʹan[that]أَفِيضُواْʹafeeḍooPourعَلَيۡنَاʻalaynaaupon usمِنَminal[of]ٱلۡمَآءِmaaaʹi(some) waterأَوۡʹaworمِمَّاmimmaaof whatرَزَقَكُمُrazaq̣akumul(has been) provided (to) youٱللَّهُۚlaah.(by) AllahقَالُوٓاْQ̣aaloooThey (will) sayإِنَّʹinnalIndeedٱللَّهَlaahaAllahحَرَّمَهُمَاḥarramahumaahas forbidden bothعَلَىʻalaltoٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَkaafireen.the disbelievers٥٠
