73:3نِّصۡفَهُۥٓNiṣfahoooHalf of itأَوِʹawiñorٱنقُصۡQ̣uṣlessenمِنۡهُminhufrom itقَلِيلًاq̣aleelaa,a little٣
73:4أَوۡʹAwOrزِدۡzidaddعَلَيۡهِʻalayhito itوَرَتِّلِwa-rattililand reciteٱلۡقُرۡءَانَQ̣urʹaanathe Quranتَرۡتِيلًاtarteelaa.(with) measured rhythmic recitation٤
73:5إِنَّاʹInnaaIndeed Weسَنُلۡقِيsanulq̣eewill castعَلَيۡكَʻalaykaupon youقَوۡلٗاQ̣awlaña Wordثَقِيلًاs̤aq̣eelaa.heavy٥
73:6إِنَّʹInnaIndeedنَاشِئَةَnaashiʹatal(the) risingٱلَّيۡلِlayli(at) the nightهِيَhiyaitأَشَدُّʹashaddu(is) very hardوَطۡـٔٗاwaṭ-ʹañwand most potentوَأَقۡوَمُwaʹaq̣wamuand more suitableقِيلًاQ̣eelaa.(for) Word٦
73:7إِنَّʹInnaIndeedلَكَlakafor youفِيfininٱلنَّهَارِnahaarithe dayسَبۡحٗاsabḥañ(is) occupationطَوِيلٗاṭaweelaa.prolonged٧
73:8وَٱذۡكُرِWaẓkurisAnd rememberٱسۡمَma(the) nameرَبِّكَRabbika(of) your Lordوَتَبَتَّلۡwa-tabattaland devote yourselfإِلَيۡهِʹilayhito Himتَبۡتِيلٗاtabteelaa.(with) devotion٨
73:9رَّبُّRabbul(The) LordٱلۡمَشۡرِقِMashriq̣i(of) the eastوَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِwal-Mag̣ribiand the westلَآLaaa(there is) noإِلَٰهَʹilaahagodإِلَّاʹillaaexceptهُوَHuwaHimفَٱتَّخِذۡهُfattakhiẓhuso take HimوَكِيلٗاWakeelaa.(as) Disposer of Affairs٩
73:10وَٱصۡبِرۡWaṣbirAnd be patientعَلَىٰʻalaaoverمَاmaa-whatيَقُولُونَyaq̣ooloonathey sayوَٱهۡجُرۡهُمۡwahjurhumand avoid themهَجۡرٗاhajrañan avoidanceجَمِيلٗاjameelaa.gracious١٠
73:11وَذَرۡنِيWa-ẓarneeAnd leave Meوَٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَwalmukaẓẓibeenaand the deniersأُوْلِيʹulinpossessorsٱلنَّعۡمَةِnaʻmati(of) the easeوَمَهِّلۡهُمۡwa-mahhilhumand allow them respite قَلِيلًاq̣aleelaa.a little١١
73:12إِنَّʹInnaIndeedلَدَيۡنَآladaynaaawith Usأَنكَالٗاʹañkaalañw(are) shacklesوَجَحِيمٗاWa-Jaḥeemaa,and burning fire١٢
73:13وَطَعَامٗاWa-ṬaʻaamañAnd foodذَاẓaathatغُصَّةٖg̣uṣṣatiñwchokesوَعَذَابًاwaʻAẓaabanand a punishmentأَلِيمٗاʹaleemaa.painful١٣
73:14يَوۡمَYawma(On the) Dayتَرۡجُفُtarjufulwill quakeٱلۡأَرۡضُʹarḍuthe earthوَٱلۡجِبَالُwal-Jibaaluand the mountainsوَكَانَتِwa-kaanatiland will becomeٱلۡجِبَالُjibaaluthe mountainsكَثِيبٗاkas̤eebama heap of sandمَّهِيلًاmaheelaa.pouring down١٤
73:15إِنَّآʹInnaaaIndeed Weأَرۡسَلۡنَآʹarsalnaaa[We] have sentإِلَيۡكُمۡʹilaykumto youرَسُولٗاRasoolaña Messengerشَٰهِدًاshaahidan(as) a witnessعَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykumupon youكَمَآkamaaaasأَرۡسَلۡنَآʹarsalnaaaWe sentإِلَىٰʹilaatoفِرۡعَوۡنَFirʻawnaFiraunرَسُولٗاRasoolaa.a Messenger١٥
73:16فَعَصَىٰFaʻaṣaaBut disobeyedفِرۡعَوۡنُFirʻawnurFiraunٱلرَّسُولَRasoolathe Messengerفَأَخَذۡنَٰهُfaʹakhaẓnaahuso We seized himأَخۡذٗاʹakhẓañw(with) a seizureوَبِيلٗاWabeelaa.ruinous١٦
73:17فَكَيۡفَFakayfaThen howتَتَّقُونَtattaq̣oonawill you guard yourselvesإِنʹiñifكَفَرۡتُمۡkafartumyou disbelieveيَوۡمٗاYawmañya Dayيَجۡعَلُyajʻalul(that) will makeٱلۡوِلۡدَٰنَwildaanathe childrenشِيبًاsheebaa―gray-haired١٧
73:18ٱلسَّمَآءُʹAssamaaaʹuThe heavenمُنفَطِرُۢmuñfaṭirum(will) break apartبِهِۦۚbih?therefromكَانَKaanaisوَعۡدُهُۥwaʻduhooHis Promiseمَفۡعُولًاmafʻoolaa.to be fulfilled١٨
73:19إِنَّʹInnaIndeedهَٰذِهِۦhaaẓiheethisتَذۡكِرَةٞۖTaẓkirah:(is) a Reminderفَمَنfamañthen whoeverشَآءَshaaaʹatwillsٱتَّخَذَtakhaẓa(let him) takeإِلَىٰʹilaatoرَبِّهِۦRabbiheehis LordسَبِيلًاSabeelaa!a way١٩
73:20۞إِنَّʹInnaIndeedرَبَّكَRabbakayour Lordيَعۡلَمُyaʻlamuknowsأَنَّكَʹannakathat youتَقُومُtaq̣oomustandأَدۡنَىٰʹadnaa(a little) lessمِنmiñthanثُلُثَيِs̤ulus̤ayiltwo-thirdsٱلَّيۡلِlayli(of) the nightوَنِصۡفَهُۥwa-niṣfahooand half of itوَثُلُثَهُۥwa-s̤ulus̤ahooand a third of itوَطَآئِفَةٞwa-ṭaaaʹifatumand (so do) a groupمِّنَminalofٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoمَعَكَۚmaʻak.(are) with youوَٱللَّهُWal-laahuAnd Allahيُقَدِّرُyuq̣addiruldeterminesٱلَّيۡلَlaylathe nightوَٱلنَّهَارَۚwannahaar.and the dayعَلِمَʻAlimaHe knowsأَنʹalthatلَّنlañnotتُحۡصُوهُtuḥṣoohuyou count itفَتَابَfataabaso He has turnedعَلَيۡكُمۡۖʻalaykumto youفَٱقۡرَءُواْfaq̣raʹooso reciteمَاmaa-whatتَيَسَّرَtayassarais easyمِنَminalofٱلۡقُرۡءَانِۚQ̣urʹaan.the QuranعَلِمَʻAlimaHe knowsأَنʹañthatسَيَكُونُsayakoonuthere will beمِنكُمmiñkumamong youمَّرۡضَىٰmarḍaasickوَءَاخَرُونَwa-ʹaakharoonaand othersيَضۡرِبُونَyaḍriboonatravelingفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe landيَبۡتَغُونَyabtag̣oonaseekingمِنmiñofفَضۡلِFaḍlil(the) Bountyٱللَّهِlaahi(of) Allahوَءَاخَرُونَwa-ʹaakharoonaand othersيُقَٰتِلُونَyuq̣aatiloonafightingفِيfeeinسَبِيلِSabeelil(the) wayٱللَّهِۖlaah.(of) AllahفَٱقۡرَءُواْFaq̣raʹooSo reciteمَاmaa-whatتَيَسَّرَtayassarais easyمِنۡهُۚminhuof itوَأَقِيمُواْwa-ʹaq̣eemuṣand establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَṢalaatathe prayerوَءَاتُواْwa-ʹaatuzand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَZakaatathe zakahوَأَقۡرِضُواْwa-ʹaq̣riḍuland loanٱللَّهَlaahaAllahقَرۡضًاQ̣arḍana loanحَسَنٗاۚḤasanaa.goodlyوَمَاWa-maaAnd whateverتُقَدِّمُواْtuq̣addimooyou send forthلِأَنفُسِكُمliʹañfusikumfor yourselvesمِّنۡminofخَيۡرٖkhayriñgoodتَجِدُوهُtajidoohuyou will find itعِندَʻiñdalwithٱللَّهِlaahiAllahهُوَhuwaItخَيۡرٗاkhyrañw(will be) betterوَأَعۡظَمَwaʹAʻz̤̣amaand greaterأَجۡرٗاۚʹAjraa.(in) rewardوَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْWastag̣firulAnd seek forgivenessٱللَّهَۖlaah:(of) AllahإِنَّʹinnalIndeedٱللَّهَlaahaAllahغَفُورٞG̣afoorur(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمُۢRaḥeem.Most Merciful٢٠
