6:1
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ
ʹAl-Ḥamdu
(All) the praises and thanks
لِلَّهِ
lillaahil
(be) to Allah
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaq̣as
created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
Samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-ʹarḍa
and the earth
وَجَعَلَ
wa-jaʻalaz̤̣
and made
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
z̤̣u-lu-maa-ti
the darkness[es]
وَٱلنُّورَۖ
wan-Noor.
and the light
ثُمَّ
S̤ummal
Then
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
بِرَبِّهِمۡ
bi-Rabbihim
in their Lord
يَعۡدِلُونَ
yaʻdiloon.
equate others with Him
١
6:2
هُوَ
Huwal
He
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَكُم
khalaq̣akum
created you
مِّن
miñ
from
طِينٖ
ṭeeniñ
clay
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
قَضَىٰٓ
q̣aḍaaa
He decreed
أَجَلٗاۖ
ʹajalaa.
a term
وَأَجَلٞ
Wa-ʹajalum
and a term
مُّسَمًّى
Musamman
specified
عِندَهُۥۖ
ʻiñdahoo
with Him
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
yet
أَنتُمۡ
ʹañtum
you
تَمۡتَرُونَ
tamtaroon!
doubt
٢
6:3
وَهُوَ
Wa-Huwal
And He
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(is) Allah
فِي
fis
in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَفِي
wa-fil
and in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍ?
the earth
يَعۡلَمُ
Yaʻlamu
He knows
سِرَّكُمۡ
sirrakum
your secret
وَجَهۡرَكُمۡ
wa-jahrakum
and what you make public
وَيَعۡلَمُ
wayaʻlamu
and He knows
مَا
maa-
what
تَكۡسِبُونَ
taksiboon.
you earn
٣
6:4
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
تَأۡتِيهِم
taʹteehim
comes to them
مِّنۡ
min
[of]
ءَايَةٖ
ʹAayaati
any sign
مِّنۡ
Min
from
ءَايَٰتِ
ʹAayatim
(the) Signs
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
(of) their Lord
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
but
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they are
عَنۡهَا
ʻanhaa
from it
مُعۡرِضِينَ
muʻriḍeen.
turning away
٤
6:5
فَقَدۡ
Faq̣ad
Then indeed
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
they denied
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
bil-Ḥaq̣q̣i
the truth
لَمَّا
lammaa
when
جَآءَهُمۡ
jaaaʹahum:
it came to them
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
but soon
يَأۡتِيهِمۡ
yaʹteehim
will come to them
أَنۢبَٰٓؤُاْ
ʹambaaaʹu
news
مَا
maa-
(of) what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
بِهِۦ
bihee
[at it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
yas-tahziʹoon.
mock
٥
6:6
أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam
Did not
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
كَمۡ
kam
how many
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
ʹahlaknaa
We destroyed
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِهِم
q̣ablihim
before them
مِّن
miñ
of
قَرۡنٖ
q̣arnim
generations
مَّكَّنَّٰهُمۡ
makkannaahum
We had established them
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
مَا
maa-
what
لَمۡ
lam
not
نُمَكِّن
numakkil
We (have) established
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا
wa-ʹarsalnas
And We sent
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
samaaaʹa
(rain from) the sky
عَلَيۡهِم
ʻalayhim
upon them
مِّدۡرَارٗا
midraaraa,
showering abundantly
وَجَعَلۡنَا
wa-jaʻalnal
and We made
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرَ
ʹanhaara
the rivers
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flow
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهِمۡ
taḥ-tihim
underneath them
فَأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُم
faʹahlaknaahum
Then We destroyed them
بِذُنُوبِهِمۡ
biẓunoobihim
for their sins
وَأَنشَأۡنَا
wa-ʹañshaʹnaa
and We raised
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِهِمۡ
baʻdihim
after them
قَرۡنًا
q̣arnan
generations
ءَاخَرِينَ
ʹaakhareen.
other
٦
6:7
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And (even) if
نَزَّلۡنَا
nazzalnaa
We (had) sent down
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
to you
كِتَٰبٗا
Kitaabañ
a written Scripture
فِي
fee
in
قِرۡطَاسٖ
q̣irṭaasiñ
a parchment
فَلَمَسُوهُ
falamasoohu
and they touched it
بِأَيۡدِيهِمۡ
biʹaydeehim
with their hands
لَقَالَ
laq̣aalal
surely (would) have said
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafarooo
disbelieved
إِنۡ
ʹin
Not
هَٰذَآ
haaẓaaa
(is) this
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
but
سِحۡرٞ
siḥrum
magic
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen.
clear
٧
6:8
وَقَالُواْ
Wa-q̣aaloo
And they said
لَوۡلَآ
Laaa-law
Why has not been
أُنزِلَ
ʹuñzila
sent down
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
to him
مَلَكٞۖ
malak?
an Angel
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَنزَلۡنَا
ʹañzalnaa
We (had) sent down
مَلَكٗا
malakal
an Angel
لَّقُضِيَ
laq̣uḍiyal
surely (would) have been decided
ٱلۡأَمۡرُ
ʹamru
the matter
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
لَا
laa-
no
يُنظَرُونَ
yuñz̤̣aroon.
respite would have been granted to them

وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
جَعَلۡنَٰهُ
jaʻalnaahu
We had made him
مَلَكٗا
malakal
an Angel
لَّجَعَلۡنَٰهُ
lajaʻalnaahu
certainly We (would) have made him
رَجُلٗا
rajulañw
a man
وَلَلَبَسۡنَا
wa-la-labasnaa
and certainly We (would) have obscured
عَلَيۡهِم
ʻalayhim
to them
مَّا
maa
what
يَلۡبِسُونَ
yalbisoon.
they are obscuring
٩
6:10
وَلَقَدِ
Wa-laq̣adis
And indeed
ٱسۡتُهۡزِئَ
tuhziʹa
were mocked
بِرُسُلٖ
birusulim
Messengers
مِّن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِكَ
q̣ablika
before you
فَحَاقَ
faḥaaq̣a
but surrounded
بِٱلَّذِينَ
billaẓeena
those who
سَخِرُواْ
sakhiroo
scoffed
مِنۡهُم
minhum
of them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
بِهِۦ
bihee
[at it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
yastahziʹoon.
mock
١٠
6:11
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
سِيرُواْ
seeroo
Travel
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
ثُمَّ
s̤ummañ
and
ٱنظُرُواْ
z̤̣uroo
see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kaana
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
ʻaaq̣ibatul
(the) end
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
mukaẓẓibeen.
(of) the rejecters
١١
6:12
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لِّمَن
limam
To whom (belongs)
مَّا
maa
what
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
wal-ʹarḍ?
and the earth
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لِّلَّهِۚ
lillaah.
To Allah
كَتَبَ
Kataba
He has decreed
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
upon
نَفۡسِهِ
Nafsihir
Himself
ٱلرَّحۡمَةَۚ
Raḥmah.
the Mercy
لَيَجۡمَعَنَّكُمۡ
Layajmaʻannakum
Surely He will assemble you
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
on
يَوۡمِ
Yawmil
(the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
لَا
laa-
(there is) no
رَيۡبَ
rayba
doubt
فِيهِۚ
feeh.
about it
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
خَسِرُوٓاْ
khasirooo
have lost
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
فَهُمۡ
fahum
then they
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon.
believe
١٢
6:13
۞وَلَهُۥ
Walahoo
And for Him
مَا
maa-
(is) whatever
سَكَنَ
sakana
dwells
فِي
fil
in
ٱلَّيۡلِ
lay-li
the night
وَٱلنَّهَارِۚ
wan-nahaar.
and the day
وَهُوَ
Wa-Huwas
and He
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
Sameeʻul
(is) All-Hearing
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
ʻAleem.
All-Knowing
١٣
6:14
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أَغَيۡرَ
ʹag̣ayral
Is it other than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
أَتَّخِذُ
ʹattakhiẓu
I (should) take
وَلِيّٗا
waliyyañ
(as) a protector
فَاطِرِ
Faaṭiris
Creator
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ʹarḍi
and the earth
وَهُوَ
wa-Huwa
while (it is) He
يُطۡعِمُ
yuṭʻimu
Who feeds
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يُطۡعَمُۗ
yuṭʻam.
He is fed
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أُمِرۡتُ
ʹumirtu
[I] am commanded
أَنۡ
ʹan
that
أَكُونَ
ʹakoona
I be
أَوَّلَ
ʹawwala
(the) first
مَنۡ
man
who
أَسۡلَمَۖ
ʹaslama
submits (to Allah)
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تَكُونَنَّ
takoonanna
be
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
mushrikeen.
the polytheists
١٤
6:15
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَخَافُ
ʹakhaafu
[I] fear
إِنۡ
ʹin
if
عَصَيۡتُ
ʻaṣaytu
I disobeyed
رَبِّي
Rabbee
my Lord
عَذَابَ
ʻaẓaaba
punishment
يَوۡمٍ
Yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٖ
ʻAz̤̣eem.
Mighty
١٥
6:16
مَّن
Mañy
Whoever
يُصۡرَفۡ
yuṣraf
is averted
عَنۡهُ
ʻanhu
from it
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawmaʹiẓin
that Day
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then surely
رَحِمَهُۥۚ
raḥimah;
He had Mercy on him
وَذَٰلِكَ
waẓaalikal
And that
ٱلۡفَوۡزُ
fawzul
(is) the success
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
mubeen.
(the) clear
١٦
6:17
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñy
And if
يَمۡسَسۡكَ
yam-saskal
touches you
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بِضُرّٖ
biḍurriñ
with affliction
فَلَا
falaa
then no
كَاشِفَ
kaashifa
remover
لَهُۥٓ
lahooo
of it
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
هُوَۖ
Hoo:
Him
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
And if
يَمۡسَسۡكَ
yam-saska
He touches you
بِخَيۡرٖ
bikhayriñ
with good
فَهُوَ
fa-Huwa
then He
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
قَدِيرٞ
Q̣adeer.
All-Powerful
١٧
6:18
وَهُوَ
Wa-huwal
And He
ٱلۡقَاهِرُ
Q̣aahiru
(is) the Subjugator
فَوۡقَ
fawq̣a
over
عِبَادِهِۦۚ
ʻibaadih;
His slaves
وَهُوَ
wa-Huwal
And He
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
Ḥakeemul
(is) the All-Wise
ٱلۡخَبِيرُ
Khabeer.
the All-Aware

قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أَيُّ
ʹayyu
What
شَيۡءٍ
shayʹin
thing
أَكۡبَرُ
ʹakbaru
(is) greatest
شَهَٰدَةٗۖ
shahaadah?
(as) a testimony
قُلِ
Q̣ulil
Say
ٱللَّهُۖ
laahu
Allah
شَهِيدُۢ
shaheedum
(is) Witness
بَيۡنِي
baynee
between me
وَبَيۡنَكُمۡۚ
wa-baynakum,
and between you
وَأُوحِيَ
wa-ʹooḥiya
and has been revealed
إِلَيَّ
ʹilayya
to me
هَٰذَا
haaẓal
this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ
Q̣urʹaanu
[the] Quran
لِأُنذِرَكُم
liʹuñẓirakum̃
that I may warn you
بِهِۦ
bihee
with it
وَمَنۢ
wa-mam
and whoever
بَلَغَۚ
balag̣.
it reaches
أَئِنَّكُمۡ
ʹAʹinnakum
Do you truly
لَتَشۡهَدُونَ
latashhadoona
testify
أَنَّ
ʹanna
that
مَعَ
maʻal
with
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
ءَالِهَةً
ʹaalihatan
(there are) gods
أُخۡرَىٰۚ
ʹukhraa?
other
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لَّآ
laaa
Not
أَشۡهَدُۚ
ʹashhad!
(do) I testify
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
إِنَّمَا
ʹinnamaa
Only
هُوَ
Huwa
He
إِلَٰهٞ
ʹIlaahuñw
(is) God
وَٰحِدٞ
Waaḥiduñw
One
وَإِنَّنِي
wa-ʹinnanee
and indeed I am
بَرِيٓءٞ
bareeeʹum
free
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
of what
تُشۡرِكُونَ
tushrikoon.
you associate (with Him)
١٩
6:20
ٱلَّذِينَ
Allaẓeena
Those (to) whom
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُ
ʹaataynaahumul
We have given them
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
يَعۡرِفُونَهُۥ
yaʻrifoonahoo
they recognize him
كَمَا
kamaa
as
يَعۡرِفُونَ
yaʻrifoona
they recognize
أَبۡنَآءَهُمُۘ
ʹabnaaaʹahum.
their sons
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
خَسِرُوٓاْ
khasirooo
lost
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
فَهُمۡ
fahum
then they
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon.
believe
٢٠
6:21
وَمَنۡ
Wa-man
And who
أَظۡلَمُ
ʹaz̤̣lamu
(is) more unjust
مِمَّنِ
mim-manif
than (he) who
ٱفۡتَرَىٰ
taraa
invents
عَلَى
ʻalal
against
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
كَذِبًا
kaẓiban
a lie
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
كَذَّبَ
kaẓẓaba
rejects
بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓۚ
biʹAayaatih?
His Signs
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹInnahoo
Indeed
لَا
laa-
not
يُفۡلِحُ
yufliḥuz̤̣
will be successful
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoon.
the wrongdoers
٢١
6:22
وَيَوۡمَ
Wa-yawma
And (the) Day
نَحۡشُرُهُمۡ
naḥ-shuruhum
We will gather them
جَمِيعٗا
jameeʻañ
all
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
نَقُولُ
naq̣oolu
We will say
لِلَّذِينَ
lil-laẓeena
to those who
أَشۡرَكُوٓاْ
ʹashrakooo
associated others with Allah
أَيۡنَ
ʹayna
Where (are)
شُرَكَآؤُكُمُ
shurakaaaʹukumul
your partners
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those whom
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used to
تَزۡعُمُونَ
tazʻumoon.
claim
٢٢
6:23
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
لَمۡ
lam
not
تَكُن
takuñ
will be
فِتۡنَتُهُمۡ
fitnatuhum
(for) them a plea
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañ
that
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they say
وَٱللَّهِ
wallaahi
By Allah
رَبِّنَا
Rabbina
our Lord
مَا
maa-
not
كُنَّا
kunnaa
we were
مُشۡرِكِينَ
mushrikeen.
those who associated others (with Allah)
٢٣
6:24
ٱنظُرۡ
ʹUñz̤̣ur
Look
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
كَذَبُواْ
kaẓaboo
they lied
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
against
أَنفُسِهِمۡۚ
ʹañfusihim
themselves
وَضَلَّ
wa-ḍalla
And lost
عَنۡهُم
ʻanhum
from them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَفۡتَرُونَ
yaftaroon.
invent
٢٤
6:25
وَمِنۡهُم
Wa-minhum
And among them
مَّن
mañy
(are those) who
يَسۡتَمِعُ
yastamiʻu
listen
إِلَيۡكَۖ
ʹilayk;
to you
وَجَعَلۡنَا
wa-jaʻalnaa
but We have placed
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
قُلُوبِهِمۡ
q̣uloobihim
their hearts
أَكِنَّةً
ʹakinnatan
coverings
أَن
ʹañy
lest
يَفۡقَهُوهُ
yafq̣ahoohu
they understand it
وَفِيٓ
wa-feee
and in
ءَاذَانِهِمۡ
ʹaaẓaanihim
their ears
وَقۡرٗاۚ
waq̣raa;
deafness
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
And if
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
كُلَّ
kulla
every
ءَايَةٖ
ʹAayatil
sign
لَّا
laa
not
يُؤۡمِنُواْ
yuʹminoo
will they believe
بِهَاۖ
bihaa:
in it
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattaaa
Until
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
جَآءُوكَ
jaaaʹooka
they come to you
يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ
yujaadiloonaka
and argue with you
يَقُولُ
yaq̣oolul
say
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafarooo
disbelieved
إِنۡ
ʹin
Not
هَٰذَآ
haaẓaaa
(is) this
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
but
أَسَٰطِيرُ
ʹasaaṭeerul
(the) tales
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
ʹawwaleen.
(of) the former (people)
٢٥
6:26
وَهُمۡ
Wa-hum
And they
يَنۡهَوۡنَ
yan-hawna
forbid (others)
عَنۡهُ
ʻanhu
from it
وَيَنۡـَٔوۡنَ
wa-yanʹawna
and they keep away
عَنۡهُۖ
ʻanh:
from it
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
And not
يُهۡلِكُونَ
yuh-likoona
they destroy
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroon.
they perceive
٢٦
6:27
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
تَرَىٰٓ
taraaa
you (could) see
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
وُقِفُواْ
wuq̣ifoo
they are made to stand
عَلَى
ʻalan
by
ٱلنَّارِ
Naari
the Fire
فَقَالُواْ
faq̣aaloo
then they (will) say
يَٰلَيۡتَنَا
yaa-laytanaa
Oh! Would that we
نُرَدُّ
nuraddu
were sent back
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
نُكَذِّبَ
nukaẓẓiba
we would deny
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biʹAayaati
(the) Signs
رَبِّنَا
Rabbinaa
(of) our Lord
وَنَكُونَ
wa-nakoona
and we would be
مِنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen!
the believers
٢٧

بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
بَدَا
badaa
became manifest
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يُخۡفُونَ
yukhfoona
conceal
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلُۖ
q̣abl.
before
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
رُدُّواْ
ruddoo
they were sent back
لَعَادُواْ
laʻaadoo
certainly they (would) return
لِمَا
limaa
to what
نُهُواْ
nuhoo
they were forbidden
عَنۡهُ
ʻanhu
from it
وَإِنَّهُمۡ
wa-ʹinnahum
and indeed they
لَكَٰذِبُونَ
lakaaẓiboon.
certainly are liars
٢٨
6:29
وَقَالُوٓاْ
Wa-q̣aalooo
And they said
إِنۡ
ʹin
Not
هِيَ
hiya
it (is)
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
حَيَاتُنَا
ḥayaatunad
our life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
نَحۡنُ
naḥnu
we
بِمَبۡعُوثِينَ
bimabʻoos̤een.
(will be) resurrected
٢٩
6:30
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
تَرَىٰٓ
taraaa
you (could) see
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
وُقِفُواْ
wuq̣ifoo
they will be made to stand
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
before
رَبِّهِمۡۚ
Rabbihim!
their Lord
قَالَ
q̣aala
He (will) say
أَلَيۡسَ
ʹalaysa
Is not
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
this
بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ
bilḥaq̣q̣?
the truth
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They will say

balaa
Yes
وَرَبِّنَاۚ
wa-Rabbinaa!
by our Lord
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He (will) say
فَذُوقُواْ
faẓooq̣ul
So taste
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
ʻaẓaaba
the punishment
بِمَا
bimaa
because
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used to
تَكۡفُرُونَ
takfuroon.
disbelieve
٣٠
6:31
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Indeed
خَسِرَ
khasiral
incurred loss
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
بِلِقَآءِ
bi-liq̣aaaʹil
in (the) meeting
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah,―
(with) Allah
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattaaa
until
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
جَآءَتۡهُمُ
jaaaʹathumus
came to them
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
Saaʻatu
the Hour
بَغۡتَةٗ
bag̣tatañ
suddenly
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
يَٰحَسۡرَتَنَا
yaa-ḥasratanaa
Oh! Our regret
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَا
maa-
what
فَرَّطۡنَا
farraṭnaa
we neglected
فِيهَا
feehaa
concerning it
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
يَحۡمِلُونَ
yaḥ-miloona
will bear
أَوۡزَارَهُمۡ
ʹawzaarahum
their burdens
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
ظُهُورِهِمۡۚ
z̤̣uhoorihim.
their backs
أَلَا
ʹAlaa
Unquestionably
سَآءَ
saaaʹa
Evil
مَا
maa-
(is) what
يَزِرُونَ
yaziroon!
they bear
٣١
6:32
وَمَا
Wa-mal
And not
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ
ḥayaatud
(is) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَآ
dunyaaa
(of) the world
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
لَعِبٞ
laʻibuñw
a play
وَلَهۡوٞۖ
walahw?
and amusement
وَلَلدَّارُ
Wa-lad-Daarul
but the home
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ
ʹAakhiratu
(of) the Hereafter
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
(is) best
لِّلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
for those who
يَتَّقُونَۚ
yattaq̣oon.
(are) God conscious
أَفَلَا
ʹAfalaa
Then not
تَعۡقِلُونَ
taʻq̣iloon?
(will) you reason
٣٢
6:33
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Indeed
نَعۡلَمُ
naʻlamu
We know
إِنَّهُۥ
innahoo
that it
لَيَحۡزُنُكَ
layaḥzunukal
grieves you
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
what
يَقُولُونَۖ
yaq̣ooloona
they say
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
faʹinnahum
And indeed they
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُكَذِّبُونَكَ
yukaẓẓiboonaka
deny you
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnaz̤̣
but
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeena
the wrongdoers
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biʹAayaatil
the Verses
ٱللَّهِ
lahi
(of) Allah
يَجۡحَدُونَ
yaj-ḥadoon.
they reject
٣٣
6:34
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And surely
كُذِّبَتۡ
kuẓẓibat
were rejected
رُسُلٞ
Rusulum
Messengers
مِّن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِكَ
q̣ablika
before you
فَصَبَرُواْ
faṣabaroo
but they were patient
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَا
maa-
what
كُذِّبُواْ
kuẓẓiboo
they were rejected
وَأُوذُواْ
wa-ʹooẓoo
and they were harmed
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattaaa
until
أَتَىٰهُمۡ
ʹataahum
came to them
نَصۡرُنَاۚ
naṣrunaa.
Our help
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And no
مُبَدِّلَ
mubaddila
one (can) alter
لِكَلِمَٰتِ
li-Kalimaatil
(the) words
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah.
(of) Allah
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
and surely
جَآءَكَ
jaaʹaka
has come to you
مِن
min
of
نَّبَإِيْ
nabaʹil
(the) news
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Mursaleen.
(of) the Messengers
٣٤
6:35
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
كَانَ
kaana
is
كَبُرَ
kabura
difficult
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
for you
إِعۡرَاضُهُمۡ
ʹiʻraaḍuhum
their aversion
فَإِنِ
faʹinis
then if
ٱسۡتَطَعۡتَ
taṭaʻta
you are able
أَن
ʹañ
to
تَبۡتَغِيَ
tabtag̣iya
seek
نَفَقٗا
nafaq̣añ
a tunnel
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
سُلَّمٗا
sullamañ
a ladder
فِي
fis
into
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
فَتَأۡتِيَهُم
fataʹtiyahum̃
so that you bring to them
بِـَٔايَةٖۚ
biʹAayah.
a Sign
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
But if
شَآءَ
shaaʹal
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
لَجَمَعَهُمۡ
lajamaʻahum
surely He (would) have gathered them
عَلَى
ʻalal
on
ٱلۡهُدَىٰۚ
hudaa
the guidance
فَلَا
falaa
So (do) not
تَكُونَنَّ
takoonanna
be
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ
jaahileen!
the ignorant
٣٥

6:36
۞إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamaa
Only
يَسۡتَجِيبُ
yastajeebul
respond
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَسۡمَعُونَۘ
yasmaʻoon.
listen
وَٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ
Wal-mawtaa
But the dead
يَبۡعَثُهُمُ
yabʻas̤uhumul
will resurrect them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
to Him
يُرۡجَعُونَ
yurjaʻoon.
they will be returned
٣٦
6:37
وَقَالُواْ
Waq̣aaloo
And they said
لَوۡلَا
laa-law
Why (is) not
نُزِّلَ
nuzzila
sent down
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
to him
ءَايَةٞ
ʹaayatum
a Sign
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّهِۦۚ
rabbih?
his Lord
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
قَادِرٌ
Q̣aadirun
(is) Able
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
[on]
أَن
ʹañy
to
يُنَزِّلَ
yunazzila
send down
ءَايَةٗ
ʹAayatañw
a Sign
وَلَٰكِنَّ
Walaakinna
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
ʹaks̤arahum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know
٣٧
6:38
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
مِن
miñ
[of]
دَآبَّةٖ
daaabbatiñ
any animal
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
طَٰٓئِرٖ
ṭaaaʹiriny
a bird
يَطِيرُ
yaṭeeru
(that) flies
بِجَنَاحَيۡهِ
bijanaaḥayhi
with its wings
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
but
أُمَمٌ
ʹumamun
(are) communities
أَمۡثَالُكُمۚ
ʹams̤aalukum.
like you
مَّا
Maa-
Not
فَرَّطۡنَا
farraṭnaa
We have neglected
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Book
مِن
miñ
[of]
شَيۡءٖۚ
shayʹiñ
anything
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
يُحۡشَرُونَ
yuḥ-sharoon.
they will be gathered
٣٨
6:39
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
rejected
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biʹAayaatinaa
Our Verses
صُمّٞ
ṣummuñw
(are) deaf
وَبُكۡمٞ
wabukmuñ
and dumb
فِي
fiz̤̣
in
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِۗ
z̤̣ulumaat:
the darkness[es]
مَن
mañy
Whoever
يَشَإِ
yashaʹil
wills
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
يُضۡلِلۡهُ
yuḍ-lilh:
He lets him go astray
وَمَن
wa-mañy
and whoever
يَشَأۡ
yashaʹ
He wills
يَجۡعَلۡهُ
yajʻalhu
He places him
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
صِرَٰطٖ
Ṣiraaṭim
(the) way
مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Mustaq̣eem.
(the) straight
٣٩
6:40
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أَرَءَيۡتَكُمۡ
ʹaraʹaytakum
Have you seen
إِنۡ
ʹin
if
أَتَىٰكُمۡ
ʹataakum
(there) came to you
عَذَابُ
ʻaẓabul
punishment
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
أَتَتۡكُمُ
ʹatatkumus
(there) came to you
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
Saaʻatu
the Hour
أَغَيۡرَ
ʹa-g̣ayral
is it other
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(than) Allah
تَدۡعُونَ
tadʻoon?
you call
إِن
ʹIñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
ṣaadiq̣een.
truthful
٤٠
6:41
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
إِيَّاهُ
ʹiyyaahu
Him Alone
تَدۡعُونَ
tadʻoona
you call
فَيَكۡشِفُ
fayakshifu
and He would remove
مَا
maa-
what
تَدۡعُونَ
tadʻoona
you call
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
upon Him
إِن
ʹiñ
if
شَآءَ
shaaʹa
He wills
وَتَنسَوۡنَ
watañsawna
and you will forget
مَا
maa-
what
تُشۡرِكُونَ
tushrikoon!
you associate (with Him)
٤١
6:42
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَآ
ʹarsalnaaa
We sent (Messengers)
إِلَىٰٓ
ilaaa
to
أُمَمٖ
ʹumamim
nations
مِّن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِكَ
q̣ablika
before you
فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم
faʹakhaẓnaahum̃
then We seized them
بِٱلۡبَأۡسَآءِ
bil-baʹsaaaʹi
with adversity
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
waḍ-ḍarraaaʹi
and hardship
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
yataḍarraʻoon.
humble themselves
٤٢
6:43
فَلَوۡلَآ
Falawlaaa
Then why not
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
جَآءَهُم
jaaaʹahum̃
came to them
بَأۡسُنَا
baʹsunaa
Our punishment
تَضَرَّعُواْ
taḍarraʻoo
they humbled themselves
وَلَٰكِن
walaakiñ
But
قَسَتۡ
q̣asat
became hardened
قُلُوبُهُمۡ
q̣uloobuhum
their hearts
وَزَيَّنَ
wa-zayyana
and made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
lahumush
to them
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
مَا
maa-
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloon.
do
٤٣
6:44
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
So when
نَسُواْ
nasoo
they forgot
مَا
maa-
what
ذُكِّرُواْ
ẓukkiroo
they were reminded
بِهِۦ
bihee
of [it]
فَتَحۡنَا
fataḥnaa
We opened
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
أَبۡوَٰبَ
ʹabwaaba
gates
كُلِّ
kulli
(of) every
شَيۡءٍ
shayʹ;
thing
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattaaa
until
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
فَرِحُواْ
fariḥoo
they rejoiced
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
أُوتُوٓاْ
ʹootooo
they were given
أَخَذۡنَٰهُم
ʹakhaẓnaahum̃
We seized them
بَغۡتَةٗ
bag̣tatañ
suddenly
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
and then
هُم
hum
they
مُّبۡلِسُونَ
mublisoon.
(were) dumbfounded

فَقُطِعَ
Faq̣uṭiʻa
So was cut off
دَابِرُ
daa-birul
(the) remnant
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmil
(of) the people
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
[those] who
ظَلَمُواْۚ
z̤̣alamoo.
did wrong
وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ
Wal-Ḥamdu
And all praises and thanks
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
(be) to Allah
رَبِّ
Rabbil
Lord
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
ʻAalameen.
(of) the worlds
٤٥
6:46
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
ʹaraʹaytum
Have you seen
إِنۡ
ʹin
if
أَخَذَ
ʹakhaẓal
took away
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
سَمۡعَكُمۡ
samʻakum
your hearing
وَأَبۡصَٰرَكُمۡ
wa-ʹabṣaarakum
and your sight
وَخَتَمَ
wa-khatama
and sealed
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
[on]
قُلُوبِكُم
q̣uloobikum
your hearts
مَّنۡ
man
who
إِلَٰهٌ
ʹilaahun
(is the) god
غَيۡرُ
g̣ayrul
other than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
يَأۡتِيكُم
yaʹteekum̃
to bring [back] to you
بِهِۗ
bih?
with it
ٱنظُرۡ
ʹUñz̤̣ur
See
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
نُصَرِّفُ
nuṣarriful
We explain
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
ʹaayaati
the Signs
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
yet
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَصۡدِفُونَ
yaṣdifoon.
turn away
٤٦
6:47
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أَرَءَيۡتَكُمۡ
ʹaraʹaytakum
Have you seen
إِنۡ
ʹin
if
أَتَىٰكُمۡ
ʹataakum
comes to you
عَذَابُ
ʻaẓaabul
punishment
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
بَغۡتَةً
bag̣tatan
suddenly
أَوۡ
ʻaw
or
جَهۡرَةً
jahratan
openly
هَلۡ
hal
will
يُهۡلَكُ
yuhlaku
(any) be destroyed
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱلۡقَوۡمُ
q̣awmuz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoon!
the wrongdoers
٤٧
6:48
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
نُرۡسِلُ
nursilul
We send
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Mursaleena
the Messengers
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مُبَشِّرِينَ
mubashshireena
(as) bearer of glad tidings
وَمُنذِرِينَۖ
wa-muñẓireen.
and (as) warners
فَمَنۡ
Faman
So whoever
ءَامَنَ
ʹaamana
believed
وَأَصۡلَحَ
wa-ʹaṣlaḥa
and reformed
فَلَا
falaa
then no
خَوۡفٌ
khawfun
fear
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
upon them
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَحۡزَنُونَ
yaḥzanoon.
will grieve
٤٨
6:49
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biʹAayaatinaa
[in] Our Verses
يَمَسُّهُمُ
yamassuhumul
will touch them
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
ʻaẓaabu
the punishment
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَفۡسُقُونَ
yaf-suq̣oon.
defiantly disobey
٤٩
6:50
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لَّآ
laaa
Not
أَقُولُ
ʹaq̣oolu
(do) I say
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
عِندِي
ʻiñdee
(that) with me
خَزَآئِنُ
khazaaaʹinul
(are the) treasures
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَلَآ
wa-laaa
and not
أَعۡلَمُ
ʹaʻlamul
(that) I know
ٱلۡغَيۡبَ
g̣ayba
the unseen
وَلَآ
wa-laaa
and not
أَقُولُ
ʹaq̣oolu
I say
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
that I (am)
مَلَكٌۖ
malak.
an Angel
إِنۡ
ʹIn
Not
أَتَّبِعُ
ʹattabiʻu
(do) I follow
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مَا
maa-
what
يُوحَىٰٓ
yooḥaaa
is revealed
إِلَيَّۚ
ʹilayy.
to me
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
هَلۡ
hal
Can
يَسۡتَوِي
yastawil
be equal
ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ
ʹaʻmaa
the blind
وَٱلۡبَصِيرُۚ
wal-baṣeer?
and the seeing one
أَفَلَا
ʹAfalaa
Then will not
تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
tatafakkaroon?
you give thought
٥٠
