54:1ٱقۡتَرَبَتِʹIq̣tarabatisHas come nearٱلسَّاعَةُSaaʻatuthe Hourوَٱنشَقَّwañ-shaq̣q̣aland has splitٱلۡقَمَرُQ̣AMAR.the moon١
54:2وَإِنWa-ʹiñyAnd ifيَرَوۡاْyarawthey seeءَايَةٗʹaayatañya Signيُعۡرِضُواْyuʻriḍoothey turn awayوَيَقُولُواْwa-yaq̣oolooand sayسِحۡرٞsiḥrumMagicمُّسۡتَمِرّٞmustamirr.continuing٢
54:3وَكَذَّبُواْWa-kaẓẓabooAnd they deniedوَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْwattabaʻoooand followedأَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚʹahwaaaʹahumtheir desiresوَكُلُّwa-kullubut (for) everyأَمۡرٖʹamrimmatterمُّسۡتَقِرّٞmustaq̣irr.(will be a) settlement٣
54:4وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyجَآءَهُمjaaaʹahumhas come to themمِّنَminalofٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِʹambaaaʹithe informationمَاmaa-whereinفِيهِfeehiwhereinمُزۡدَجَرٌmuzdajar.(is) deterrence٤
54:5حِكۡمَةُۢḤikmatumWisdomبَٰلِغَةٞۖbaalig̣atuñperfectفَمَاfamaabut notتُغۡنِtug̣ninwill availٱلنُّذُرُNuẓur.the warnings٥
54:6فَتَوَلَّFatawallaSo turn awayعَنۡهُمۡۘʻanhum.from themيَوۡمَYawma(The) Dayيَدۡعُyadʻudwill callٱلدَّاعِDaaʻithe callerإِلَىٰʹilaatoشَيۡءٖshayʹina thingنُّكُرٍnukur,terrible٦
54:7خُشَّعًاKhushshaʻan(Will be) humbledأَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡʹabṣaaruhumtheir eyesيَخۡرُجُونَyakhrujoonathey will come forthمِنَminalfromٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِʹajdaas̤ithe gravesكَأَنَّهُمۡkaʹannahumas if they (were)جَرَادٞjaraadumlocustsمُّنتَشِرٞmuñtashir.spreading٧
54:8مُّهۡطِعِينَMuhṭiʻeenaRacing aheadإِلَىʹiladtowardsٱلدَّاعِۖDaaʻ!the callerيَقُولُYaq̣oolulWill sayٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَkaafiroonathe disbelieversهَٰذَا˹HaaẓaaThisيَوۡمٌYawmun(is) a Dayعَسِرٞʻasir.˺difficult٨
54:9۞كَذَّبَتۡKaẓẓabatDeniedقَبۡلَهُمۡq̣ablahumbefore themقَوۡمُQ̣awmu(the) peopleنُوحٖNooḥiñ(of) Nuhفَكَذَّبُواْfakaẓẓabooand they deniedعَبۡدَنَاʻAbdanaaOur slaveوَقَالُواْwa-q̣aalooand saidمَجۡنُونٞmajnooñuwA madmanوَٱزۡدُجِرَwazdujir.and he was repelled٩
54:10فَدَعَاFadaʻaaSo he calledرَبَّهُۥٓRabbahooohis LordأَنِّيʹanneeI amمَغۡلُوبٞmag̣loobuñone overpoweredفَٱنتَصِرۡfañtaṣir!so help١٠
54:11فَفَتَحۡنَآFafataḥnaaaSo We openedأَبۡوَٰبَʹabwaabas(the) gatesٱلسَّمَآءِsamaaaʹi(of) heavenبِمَآءٖbimaaaʹimwith waterمُّنۡهَمِرٖmunhamir.pouring down١١
54:12وَفَجَّرۡنَاWa-fajjarnalAnd We caused to burstٱلۡأَرۡضَʹarḍathe earthعُيُونٗاʻuyoonañ(with) springsفَٱلۡتَقَىfaltaq̣also metٱلۡمَآءُmaaaʹuthe water(s)عَلَىٰٓʻalaaaforأَمۡرٖʹamriña matterقَدۡq̣adalreadyقُدِرَq̣udir.predestined١٢
54:13وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُWa-ḥamalnaahuAnd We carried himعَلَىٰʻalaaonذَاتِẓaati(ark) made of planksأَلۡوَٰحٖʹalwaaḥiñw(ark) made of planksوَدُسُرٖWadusur,and nails١٣
54:14تَجۡرِيTajreeSailingبِأَعۡيُنِنَاbiʹaʻyuninaa;before Our eyesجَزَآءٗjazaaaʹala rewardلِّمَنlimañfor (he) whoكَانَkaanawasكُفِرَkufir!denied١٤
54:15وَلَقَدWa-laq̣atAnd certainlyتَّرَكۡنَٰهَآtaraknaahaaaWe left itءَايَةٗʹAayatañ(as) a Signفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنmimanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakir?who will receive admonition١٥
54:16فَكَيۡفَFakayfaSo howكَانَkaanawasعَذَابِيʻAẓaabeeMy punishmentوَنُذُرِwa-Nuẓur?and My warnings١٦
54:17وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyيَسَّرۡنَاyassarnalWe have made easyٱلۡقُرۡءَانَQ̣urʹaanathe Quranلِلذِّكۡرِliẓ-Ẓikrifor remembranceفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنmimanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakir?who will receive admonition١٧
54:18كَذَّبَتۡKaẓẓabatDeniedعَادٞʻAaduñAadفَكَيۡفَfakayfaso howكَانَkaanawasعَذَابِيʻAẓaabeeMy punishmentوَنُذُرِwa-Nuẓur.and My warnings١٨
54:19إِنَّآʹInnaaaIndeed Weأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaa[We] sentعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimupon themرِيحٗاreeḥaña windصَرۡصَرٗاṣarṣarañfuriousفِيfeeonيَوۡمِYawmia dayنَحۡسٖnaḥsim(of) misfortuneمُّسۡتَمِرّٖmustamirr,continuous١٩
54:20تَنزِعُTañziʻunPlucking outٱلنَّاسَnaasamenكَأَنَّهُمۡkaʹannahumas if they (were)أَعۡجَازُʹaʻjaazutrunksنَخۡلٖnakhlim(of) date-palmsمُّنقَعِرٖmuñq̣aʻir.uprooted٢٠
54:21فَكَيۡفَFakayfaSo howكَانَkaanawasعَذَابِيʻaẓaabeeMy punishmentوَنُذُرِwa-nuẓur?and My warnings٢١
54:22وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyيَسَّرۡنَاyassarnalWe have made easyٱلۡقُرۡءَانَQ̣urʹaanathe Quranلِلذِّكۡرِliẓ-Ẓikrifor remembranceفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنmimanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakir?who will receive admonition٢٢
54:24فَقَالُوٓاْFaq̣aaloooAnd saidأَبَشَرٗاʹabasharamIs (it) a human beingمِّنَّاminnaaamong usوَٰحِدٗاwaaḥidanoneنَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓnattabiʻuhooo(that) we should follow himإِنَّآʹinnaaaIndeed weإِذٗاʹiẓalthenلَّفِيlafee(will be) surely inضَلَٰلٖḍalaaliñwerrorوَسُعُرٍwasuʻur!and madness٢٤
54:25أَءُلۡقِيَʹA-ʹulq̣iyaẓHas been sentٱلذِّكۡرُẒikruthe Reminderعَلَيۡهِʻalayhito himمِنۢmimfromبَيۡنِنَاbayninaaamong usبَلۡbalNayهُوَhuwaheكَذَّابٌkaẓẓaabun(is) a liarأَشِرٞʹashir!insolent٢٥
54:26سَيَعۡلَمُونَSayaʻlamoonaThey will knowغَدٗاg̣adamtomorrowمَّنِmanilwhoٱلۡكَذَّابُkaẓẓaabul(is) the liarٱلۡأَشِرُʹashir!the insolent one٢٦
54:27إِنَّاʹInnaaIndeed Weمُرۡسِلُواْmursilun(are) sendingٱلنَّاقَةِnaaq̣atithe she-camelفِتۡنَةٗfitnatal(as) a trialلَّهُمۡlahumfor themفَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡfartaq̣ibhumso watch themوَٱصۡطَبِرۡwaṣṭabir!and be patient٢٧
54:28وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡWa-nabbiʹhumAnd inform themأَنَّʹannalthatٱلۡمَآءَmaaaʹathe waterقِسۡمَةُۢq̣ismatum(is) to be sharedبَيۡنَهُمۡۖbaynahum:between themكُلُّkullueachشِرۡبٖshirbimdrinkمُّحۡتَضَرٞmuḥtaḍar.attended٢٨
54:29فَنَادَوۡاْFanaadawBut they calledصَاحِبَهُمۡṣaaḥibahumtheir companionفَتَعَاطَىٰfataʻaaṭaaand he tookفَعَقَرَfaʻaq̣ar.and hamstrung٢٩
54:30فَكَيۡفَFakayfaSo howكَانَkaanawasعَذَابِيʻAẓaabeeMy punishmentوَنُذُرِwa-Nuẓur!and My warnings٣٠
54:31إِنَّآʹInnaaaIndeed Weأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaa[We] sentعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimupon themصَيۡحَةٗṢayḥatañwthunderous blastوَٰحِدَةٗwaaḥidatañsingleفَكَانُواْfakaanooand they becameكَهَشِيمِkahasheemillike dry twig fragmentsٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِmuḥtaz̤̣ir.(used by) a fence builder٣١
54:32وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyيَسَّرۡنَاyassarnalWe have made easyٱلۡقُرۡءَانَQ̣urʹaanathe Quranلِلذِّكۡرِliẓ-Ẓikrifor remembranceفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنmimanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakir?who will receive admonition٣٢
54:33كَذَّبَتۡKaẓẓabatDeniedقَوۡمُQ̣awmu(the) peopleلُوطِۭLooṭim(of) Lutبِٱلنُّذُرِbin-Nuẓur.the warnings٣٣
54:34إِنَّآʹInnaaaIndeed Weأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaa[We] sentعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimupon themحَاصِبًاḥaaṣibana storm of stonesإِلَّآʹillaaaexceptءَالَʹaala(the) familyلُوطٖۖLooṭ;(of) Lutنَّجَّيۡنَٰهُمnajjaynaahum̃We saved themبِسَحَرٖbisaḥar,―by dawn٣٤
54:35نِّعۡمَةٗNiʻmatam(As) a favorمِّنۡminfromعِندِنَاۚʻIñdinaa;UsكَذَٰلِكَkaẓaalikaThusنَجۡزِيnajzeeWe rewardمَنmañ(one) whoشَكَرَshakar.(is) grateful٣٥
54:36وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyأَنذَرَهُمʹañẓarahum̃he warned themبَطۡشَتَنَاbaṭshatanaa(of) Our seizureفَتَمَارَوۡاْfatamaarawbut they disputedبِٱلنُّذُرِbin-Nuẓur.the warnings٣٦
54:37وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyرَٰوَدُوهُraawadoohuthey demanded from himعَنʻañthey demanded from himضَيۡفِهِۦḍayfiheehis guestsفَطَمَسۡنَآfaṭamasnaaaso We blindedأَعۡيُنَهُمۡʹaʻyunahumtheir eyesفَذُوقُواْfaẓooq̣ooSo tasteعَذَابِيʻAẓaabeeMy punishmentوَنُذُرِwa-nuẓur.and My warnings٣٧
54:38وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyصَبَّحَهُمṣabbaḥahum̃seized them in the morningبُكۡرَةًbukratanearlyعَذَابٞʻAẓaabuma punishmentمُّسۡتَقِرّٞmustaq̣irr:abiding٣٨
54:40وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyيَسَّرۡنَاyassarnalWe have made easyٱلۡقُرۡءَانَQ̣urʹaanathe Quranلِلذِّكۡرِliẓ-Ẓikrifor remembranceفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنmimanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakir?who will receive admonition٤٠
54:41وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyجَآءَjaaaʹacameءَالَʹAala(to the) peopleفِرۡعَوۡنَFirʻawnan(of) Firaunٱلنُّذُرُnuẓur.warnings٤١
54:42كَذَّبُواْKaẓẓabooThey deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹAayaatinaaOur Signsكُلِّهَاkullihaaall of themفَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمۡfaʹakhaẓnaahumso We seized themأَخۡذَʹakhẓa(with) a seizureعَزِيزٖʻAzeezim(of) All-MightyمُّقۡتَدِرٍMuq̣tadir.(the) Powerful One٤٢
54:43أَكُفَّارُكُمۡʹAkuffaarukumAre your disbelieversخَيۡرٞkhayrumbetterمِّنۡminthanأُوْلَٰٓئِكُمۡʹulaaaʹikumthoseأَمۡʹamorلَكُمlakum̃for youبَرَآءَةٞbaraaaʹatuñ(is) an exemptionفِيfizinٱلزُّبُرِZubur?the Scriptures٤٣
54:44أَمۡʹAmOrيَقُولُونَyaq̣ooloona(do) they sayنَحۡنُnaḥnuWeجَمِيعٞjameeʻum(are) an assemblyمُّنتَصِرٞmuñtaṣir?helping (each other)٤٤
54:45سَيُهۡزَمُSayuhzamulSoon will be defeatedٱلۡجَمۡعُjamʻu(their) assemblyوَيُوَلُّونَwa-yuwalloonadand they will turnٱلدُّبُرَdubur.(their) backs٤٥
54:46بَلِBalisNayٱلسَّاعَةُSaaaʻatuthe Hourمَوۡعِدُهُمۡmawʻiduhum(is) their promised timeوَٱلسَّاعَةُwas-Saaʻatuand the Hourأَدۡهَىٰʹadhaa(will be) more grievousوَأَمَرُّwa-ʹamarr.and more bitter٤٦
54:47إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَmujrimeenathe criminalsفِيfee(are) inضَلَٰلٖḍalaaliñwan errorوَسُعُرٖwasuʻur.and madness٤٧
54:48يَوۡمَYawma(The) Dayيُسۡحَبُونَyus-ḥaboonathey will be draggedفِيfinintoٱلنَّارِNaarithe Fireعَلَىٰʻalaaonوُجُوهِهِمۡwujoohihim:their facesذُوقُواْẓooq̣ooTasteمَسَّmassa(the) touchسَقَرَSaq̣ar!(of) Hell٤٨
54:49إِنَّاʹInnaaIndeed [We]كُلَّKullaeveryشَيۡءٍshayʹinthingخَلَقۡنَٰهُkhalaq̣naahuWe created itبِقَدَرٖbiq̣adar.by a measure٤٩
54:50وَمَآWa-maaaAnd notأَمۡرُنَآʹAmrunaaa(is) Our Commandإِلَّاʹillaabutوَٰحِدَةٞwaaḥidatuñoneكَلَمۡحِۭkalamḥimlike the twinklingبِٱلۡبَصَرِbil-baṣar.(of) the eye٥٠
