49:1
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaa-ʹayyuhal
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
O you who believe
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
O you who believe
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تُقَدِّمُواْ
tuq̣addimoo
put (yourselves) forward
بَيۡنَ
bayna
before Allah
يَدَيِ
yadayil
before Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
before Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦۖ
wa-Rasoolihee
and His Messenger
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
and fear Allah
ٱللَّهَۚ
laah:
and fear Allah
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
سَمِيعٌ
Sameeʻun
(is) All-Hearer
عَلِيمٞ
ʻAleem.
All-Knower
١
49:2
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaa-ʹayyuhal
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
O you who believe
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
O you who believe
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَرۡفَعُوٓاْ
tarfaʻooo
raise
أَصۡوَٰتَكُمۡ
ʹaṣwaatakum
your voices
فَوۡقَ
fawq̣a
above
صَوۡتِ
ṣawtin
(the) voice
ٱلنَّبِيِّ
Nabiyyi
(of) the Prophet
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَجۡهَرُواْ
tajharoo
be loud
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ
bilq̣awli
in speech
كَجَهۡرِ
kajahri
like (the) loudness
بَعۡضِكُمۡ
baʻḍikum
(of) some of you
لِبَعۡضٍ
libaʻḍin
to others
أَن
ʹañ
lest
تَحۡبَطَ
taḥbaṭa
become worthless
أَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡ
ʹaʻ-maalukum
your deeds
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while you
لَا
laa-
(do) not
تَشۡعُرُونَ
tashʻuroon.
perceive
٢
49:3
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَغُضُّونَ
yag̣uḍḍoona
lower
أَصۡوَٰتَهُمۡ
ʹaṣwaatahum
their voices
عِندَ
ʻiñda
(in) presence
رَسُولِ
Rasoolil
(of the) Messenger of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of the) Messenger of Allah
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹikal
those
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenam
(are) the ones
ٱمۡتَحَنَ
ta-ḥanal
Allah has tested
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah has tested
قُلُوبَهُمۡ
q̣uloobahum
their hearts
لِلتَّقۡوَىٰۚ
littaq̣waa:
for righteousness
لَهُم
lahum
For them
مَّغۡفِرَةٞ
Mag̣firatuñw
(is) forgiveness
وَأَجۡرٌ
WaʹAjrun
and a reward
عَظِيمٌ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
great
٣
49:4
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يُنَادُونَكَ
yunaadoonaka
call you
مِن
miñw
from
وَرَآءِ
waraaaʹil
behind
ٱلۡحُجُرَٰتِ
ḤUJURAATI
the private chambers
أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
ʹaks̤aruhum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡقِلُونَ
yaʻq̣iloon.
understand
٤

49:5
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَنَّهُمۡ
ʹannahum
they
صَبَرُواْ
ṣabaroo
had been patient
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
تَخۡرُجَ
takhruja
you came out
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
to them
لَكَانَ
lakaana
certainly it would be
خَيۡرٗا
khayral
better
لَّهُمۡۚ
lahum:
for them
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
٥
49:6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
O you who believe
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
O you who believe
إِن
ʹiñ
If
جَآءَكُمۡ
jaaʹakum
comes to you
فَاسِقُۢ
faasiq̣um
a wicked person
بِنَبَإٖ
binabaʹiñ
with information
فَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْ
fatabayyanooo
investigate
أَن
ʹañ
lest
تُصِيبُواْ
tuṣeeboo
you harm
قَوۡمَۢا
q̣awmam
a people
بِجَهَٰلَةٖ
bijahaalatiñ
in ignorance
فَتُصۡبِحُواْ
fatuṣbiḥoo
then you become
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَا
maa-
what
فَعَلۡتُمۡ
faʻaltum
you have done
نَٰدِمِينَ
naadimeen.
regretful
٦
49:7
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
Waʻlamooo
And know
أَنَّ
ʹanna
that
فِيكُمۡ
feekum
among you
رَسُولَ
Rasoolal
(is the) Messenger of Allah
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah:
(is the) Messenger of Allah
لَوۡ
law
If
يُطِيعُكُمۡ
yuṭeeʻukum
he were to obey you
فِي
fee
in
كَثِيرٖ
kas̤eerim
much
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
ʹamrila
the matter
لَعَنِتُّمۡ
ʻanittum
surely you would be in difficulty
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnal
but
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
حَبَّبَ
ḥabbaba
has endeared
إِلَيۡكُمُ
ʹilaykumul
to you
ٱلۡإِيمَٰنَ
ʹEemaana
the Faith
وَزَيَّنَهُۥ
wa-zayyanahoo
and has made it pleasing
فِي
fee
in
قُلُوبِكُمۡ
q̣uloobikum
your hearts
وَكَرَّهَ
wa-karraha
and has made hateful
إِلَيۡكُمُ
ʹilaykumul
to you
ٱلۡكُفۡرَ
kufra
disbelief
وَٱلۡفُسُوقَ
walfusooq̣a
and defiance
وَٱلۡعِصۡيَانَۚ
walʻiṣyaan:
and disobedience
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹika
Those
هُمُ
humur
(are) they
ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَ
raashidoon;―
the guided ones
٧
49:8
فَضۡلٗا
Faḍlam
A Bounty
مِّنَ
minal
from Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
from Allah
وَنِعۡمَةٗۚ
wa-niʻmah;
and favor
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
عَلِيمٌ
ʹAleemun
(is) All-Knower
حَكِيمٞ
Ḥakeem.
All-Wise
٨
49:9
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
طَآئِفَتَانِ
ṭaaaʹifataani
two parties
مِنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹminee
the believers
ٱقۡتَتَلُواْ
naq̣tataloo
fight
فَأَصۡلِحُواْ
faʹaṣliḥoo
then make peace
بَيۡنَهُمَاۖ
baynahumaa:
between both of them
فَإِنۢ
faʹim
But if
بَغَتۡ
bag̣at
oppresses
إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا
ʹiḥdaahumaa
one of them
عَلَى
ʻalal
on
ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ
ʹukhraa
the other
فَقَٰتِلُواْ
faq̣aatilul
then fight
ٱلَّتِي
latee
one which
تَبۡغِي
tabg̣ee
oppresses
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
تَفِيٓءَ
tafeeeʹa
it returns
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَمۡرِ
ʹamril
(the) command
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah:
(of) Allah
فَإِن
faʹiñ
Then if
فَآءَتۡ
faaaʹat
it returns
فَأَصۡلِحُواْ
faʹaṣliḥoo
then make peace
بَيۡنَهُمَا
baynahumaa
between them
بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ
bilʻadli
with justice
وَأَقۡسِطُوٓاْۖ
wa-ʹaq̣siṭoo:
and act justly
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
loves
ٱلۡمُقۡسِطِينَ
Muq̣siṭeen.
those who act justly
٩
49:10
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamal
Only
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
Muʹminoona
the believers
إِخۡوَةٞ
ʹIkhwatuñ
(are) brothers
فَأَصۡلِحُواْ
faʹaṣliḥoo
so make peace
بَيۡنَ
bayna
between
أَخَوَيۡكُمۡۚ
ʹakhawaykum
your brothers
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
and fear Allah
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
and fear Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تُرۡحَمُونَ
turḥamoon.
receive mercy
١٠
49:11
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
O you who believe
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
O you who believe
لَا
la
(Let) not
يَسۡخَرۡ
yaskhar
ridicule
قَوۡمٞ
q̣awmum
a people
مِّن
miñ
[of]
قَوۡمٍ
q̣awmin
(another) people
عَسَىٰٓ
ʻasaaa
perhaps
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَكُونُواْ
yakoonoo
they may be
خَيۡرٗا
khayram
better
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
than them
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (let) not
نِسَآءٞ
nisaaaʹum
women
مِّن
min
[of]
نِّسَآءٍ
nisaaaʹin
(other) women
عَسَىٰٓ
ʻasaaa
perhaps
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَكُنَّ
yakunna
they may be
خَيۡرٗا
khayram
better
مِّنۡهُنَّۖ
minhunn:
than them
وَلَا
wa-laa
And (do) not
تَلۡمِزُوٓاْ
talmizooo
insult
أَنفُسَكُمۡ
ʹañfusakum
yourselves
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَنَابَزُواْ
tanaabazoo
call each other
بِٱلۡأَلۡقَٰبِۖ
bilʹalq̣aab:
by nicknames
بِئۡسَ
biʹsal
Wretched is
ٱلِٱسۡمُ
ismul
the name
ٱلۡفُسُوقُ
fusooq̣u
(of) disobedience
بَعۡدَ
baʻdal
after
ٱلۡإِيمَٰنِۚ
ʹeemaan:
the faith
وَمَن
wa-mal
And whoever
لَّمۡ
lam
(does) not
يَتُبۡ
yatub
repent
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
then those
هُمُ
humuz̤̣
they
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoon.
(are) the wrongdoers

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
O you who believe
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanuj
O you who believe
ٱجۡتَنِبُواْ
taniboo
Avoid
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeram
much
مِّنَ
minaz̤̣
of
ٱلظَّنِّ
z̤̣ann:
the assumption
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
بَعۡضَ
baʻḍaz̤̣
some
ٱلظَّنِّ
z̤̣anni
assumption
إِثۡمٞۖ
ʹis̤muñw
(is) sin
وَلَا
Walaa
And (do) not
تَجَسَّسُواْ
tajassasoo
spy
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
يَغۡتَب
yag̣tab
backbite
بَّعۡضُكُم
baʻḍukum
some of you
بَعۡضًاۚ
baʻḍaa.
(to) others
أَيُحِبُّ
ʹA-yuḥibbu
Would like
أَحَدُكُمۡ
ʻaḥadukum
one of you
أَن
ʹañy
to
يَأۡكُلَ
yaʹkula
eat
لَحۡمَ
laḥma
(the) flesh
أَخِيهِ
ʹakheehi
(of) his brother
مَيۡتٗا
maytañ
dead
فَكَرِهۡتُمُوهُۚ
fakarihtumooh?
Nay you would hate it
وَٱتَّقُواْ
Wattaq̣ul
And fear Allah
ٱللَّهَۚ
laah:
And fear Allah
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
تَوَّابٞ
Tawwaabur
(is) Oft-Returning
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
١٢
49:13
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhan
O mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
naasu
O mankind
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed We
خَلَقۡنَٰكُم
khalaq̣naakum
created you
مِّن
miñ
from
ذَكَرٖ
ẓakariñw
a male
وَأُنثَىٰ
waʹuñs̤aa
and a female
وَجَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ
wa-jaʻalnaakum
and We made you
شُعُوبٗا
shuʻoobañw
nations
وَقَبَآئِلَ
waq̣abaaaʹila
and tribes
لِتَعَارَفُوٓاْۚ
litaʻaarafoo.
that you may know one another
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
أَكۡرَمَكُمۡ
ʹakramakum
(the) most noble of you
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
near
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
أَتۡقَىٰكُمۡۚ
ʹatq̣aakum.
(is the) most righteous of you
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleemun
(is) All-Knower
خَبِيرٞ
Khabeer.
All-Aware
١٣
49:14
۞قَالَتِ
Q̣aalatil
Say
ٱلۡأَعۡرَابُ
ʹAʻraabu
the Bedouins
ءَامَنَّاۖ
ʹaamannaa.
We believe
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لَّمۡ
lam
Not
تُؤۡمِنُواْ
tuʹminoo
you believe
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakiñ
but
قُولُوٓاْ
q̣oolooo
say
أَسۡلَمۡنَا
ʹaslamnaa
We have submitted
وَلَمَّا
wa-lammaa
and has not yet
يَدۡخُلِ
yadkhulil
entered
ٱلۡإِيمَٰنُ
ʹeemaanu
the faith
فِي
fee
in
قُلُوبِكُمۡۖ
q̣uloobikum.
your hearts
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
But if
تُطِيعُواْ
tuṭeeʻul
you obey
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ
wa-Rasoolahoo
and His Messenger
لَا
laa-
not
يَلِتۡكُم
yalitkum
He will deprive you
مِّنۡ
min
of
أَعۡمَٰلِكُمۡ
ʹaʻmaalikum
your deeds
شَيۡـًٔاۚ
shayʹaa:
anything
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
١٤
49:15
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamal
Only
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
Muʹminoonal
the believers
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(are) those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
wa-Rasoolihee
and His Messenger
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
لَمۡ
lam
(do) not
يَرۡتَابُواْ
yartaaboo
doubt
وَجَٰهَدُواْ
wa-jaahadoo
but strive
بِأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ
biʹamwaalihim
with their wealth
وَأَنفُسِهِمۡ
wa-ʹañfusihim
and their lives
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah:
(of) Allah
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹika
Those
هُمُ
humuṣ
[they]
ٱلصَّٰدِقُونَ
Ṣaadiq̣oon.
(are) the truthful
١٥
49:16
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أَتُعَلِّمُونَ
ʹatuʻallimoonal
Will you acquaint
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
بِدِينِكُمۡ
bideenikum?
with your religion
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
while Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
مَا
maa-
what
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
arḍ:
the earth
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
of every
شَيۡءٍ
shayʹin
thing
عَلِيمٞ
ʻAleem.
(is) All-Knower
١٦
49:17
يَمُنُّونَ
Yamunnoona
They consider (it) a favor
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
to you
أَنۡ
ʹan
that
أَسۡلَمُواْۖ
ʹaslamoo.
they have accepted Islam
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لَّا
laa-
(Do) not
تَمُنُّواْ
tamunnoo
consider a favor
عَلَيَّ
ʻalayya
on me
إِسۡلَٰمَكُمۖ
ʹIslaamakum.
your Islam
بَلِ
Balil
Nay
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
يَمُنُّ
yamunnu
has conferred a favor
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
أَنۡ
ʹan
that
هَدَىٰكُمۡ
hadaakum
He has guided you
لِلۡإِيمَٰنِ
lil-ʹeemaani
to the faith
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
ṣaadiq̣een.
truthful
١٧
49:18
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
غَيۡبَ
g̣aybas
(the) unseen
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
wal-ʹarḍ:
and the earth
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
بَصِيرُۢ
baṣeerum
(is) All-Seer
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon.
you do
