43:3إِنَّاʹInnaaIndeed Weجَعَلۡنَٰهُjaʻalnaahu(have) made itقُرۡءَٰنًاQ̣urʹaanana QuranعَرَبِيّٗاʻArabiyyal(in) Arabicلَّعَلَّكُمۡlaʻallakumso that you mayتَعۡقِلُونَtaʻq̣iloon.understand٣
43:4وَإِنَّهُۥWa-ʹinnahooAnd indeed itفِيٓfeee(is) inأُمِّʹUmmil(the) MotherٱلۡكِتَٰبِKitaabi(of) the Bookلَدَيۡنَاladaynaawith Usلَعَلِيٌّlaʻaliyyunsurely exaltedحَكِيمٌḤakeem.full of wisdom٤
43:5أَفَنَضۡرِبُʹA-fanaḍribuThen should We take awayعَنكُمُʻañkumuẓfrom youٱلذِّكۡرَẒikrathe Reminderصَفۡحًاṣafḥandisregarding (you)أَنʹañbecauseكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou areقَوۡمٗاq̣awmama peopleمُّسۡرِفِينَmusrifeen?transgressing٥
43:6وَكَمۡWa-kamAnd how manyأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaaWe sentمِنminofنَّبِيّٖnabiyyiña Prophetفِيfilamongٱلۡأَوَّلِينَʹawwaleen?the former (people)٦
43:7وَمَاWa-maaAnd notيَأۡتِيهِمyaʹteehimcame to themمِّنminany Prophetنَّبِيٍّnabiyyinany Prophetإِلَّاʹillaabutكَانُواْkaanoothey used toبِهِۦbiheemock at himيَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَyastahziʹoon.mock at him٧
43:8فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآFaʹahlaknaaaThen We destroyedأَشَدَّʹashaddastrongerمِنۡهُمminhum̃than themبَطۡشٗاbaṭshañw(in) powerوَمَضَىٰwamaḍaaand has passedمَثَلُMas̤alul(the) exampleٱلۡأَوَّلِينَʹawwaleen.(of) the former (people)٨
43:9وَلَئِنWa-laʹiñAnd ifسَأَلۡتَهُمsaʹaltahumyou ask themمَّنۡmanWhoخَلَقَkhalaq̣ascreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِsamaawaatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَwal-ʹarḍaand the earthلَيَقُولُنَّlayaq̣oolunnaThey will surely sayخَلَقَهُنَّkhalaq̣ahunnalCreated themٱلۡعَزِيزُʻAzeezulthe All-MightyٱلۡعَلِيمُʻAleem;―the All-Knower٩
43:10ٱلَّذِيʹAllaẓeeThe One Whoجَعَلَjaʻalamadeلَكُمُlakumulfor youٱلۡأَرۡضَʹarḍathe earthمَهۡدٗاmahdañwa bedوَجَعَلَwajaʻalaand madeلَكُمۡlakumfor youفِيهَاfeehaathereinسُبُلٗاsubulalroadsلَّعَلَّكُمۡlaʻallakumso that you mayتَهۡتَدُونَtahtadoon;(be) guided١٠
43:11وَٱلَّذِيWallaẓeeAnd the One Whoنَزَّلَnazzalasends downمِنَminasfromٱلسَّمَآءِsamaaaʹithe skyمَآءَۢmaaaʹamwaterبِقَدَرٖbiq̣adar;―in (due) measureفَأَنشَرۡنَاfaʹañsharnaathen We reviveبِهِۦbiheewith itبَلۡدَةٗbaldatama landمَّيۡتٗاۚmaytaa;deadكَذَٰلِكَkaẓaalikathusتُخۡرَجُونَtukhrajoon;―you will be brought forth١١
43:12وَٱلَّذِيWallaẓeeAnd the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaq̣alcreatedٱلۡأَزۡوَٰجَʹazwaajathe pairsكُلَّهَاkullahaaall of themوَجَعَلَwa-jaʻalaand madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنَminal[of]ٱلۡفُلۡكِfulkithe shipsوَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِwal-ʹanʻaamiand the cattleمَاmaa-whatتَرۡكَبُونَtarkaboon.you ride١٢
43:13لِتَسۡتَوُۥاْLitastawooThat you may sit firmlyعَلَىٰʻalaaonظُهُورِهِۦz̤̣uhooriheetheir backsثُمَّs̤ummathenتَذۡكُرُواْtaẓkuroorememberنِعۡمَةَniʻmata(the) favorرَبِّكُمۡRabbikum(of) your Lordإِذَاʹiẓaswhenٱسۡتَوَيۡتُمۡtawaytumyou sit firmlyعَلَيۡهِʻalayhion themوَتَقُولُواْwa-taq̣oolooand sayسُبۡحَٰنَʻʻSubḥaanalGlory be (to)ٱلَّذِيlaẓeethe One Whoسَخَّرَsakhkhara(has) subjectedلَنَاlanaato usهَٰذَاhaaẓaathisوَمَاwa-maaand notكُنَّاkunnaawe wereلَهُۥlahooof itمُقۡرِنِينَmuq̣rineen.capable١٣
43:14وَإِنَّآWa-ʹinnaaaAnd indeed weإِلَىٰʹilaatoرَبِّنَاRabbinaaour Lordلَمُنقَلِبُونَlamuñq̣aliboon!ʹʹwill surely return١٤
43:15وَجَعَلُواْWa-jaʻalooBut they attributeلَهُۥlahooto HimمِنۡminfromعِبَادِهِۦʻibaadiheeHis slavesجُزۡءًاۚjuzʹaa!a portionإِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلۡإِنسَٰنَʹiñsaanamanلَكَفُورٞlakafoorumsurely (is) clearly ungratefulمُّبِينٌmubeen!surely (is) clearly ungrateful١٥
43:16أَمِʹAmitOrٱتَّخَذَtakhaẓahas He takenمِمَّاmimmaaof whatيَخۡلُقُyakhluq̣uHe has createdبَنَاتٖbanaatiñwdaughtersوَأَصۡفَىٰكُمwaʹaṣfaakumand He has chosen (for) youبِٱلۡبَنِينَbilbaneen?sons١٦
43:17وَإِذَاWa-ʹiẓaaAnd whenبُشِّرَbushshirais given good newsأَحَدُهُمʹaḥaduhum̃(to) one of themبِمَاbimaaof whatضَرَبَḍarabahe sets upلِلرَّحۡمَٰنِlir-Raḥmaanifor the Most Graciousمَثَلٗاmas̤alañ(as) a likenessظَلَّz̤̣allabecomesوَجۡهُهُۥwajhuhoohis faceمُسۡوَدّٗاmuswaddañwdarkوَهُوَwahuwaand heكَظِيمٌkaz̤̣eem!(is) filled with grief١٧
43:18أَوَمَنʹA-wamañyThen (is one) whoيُنَشَّؤُاْyunashshaʹuis brought upفِيfilinٱلۡحِلۡيَةِḥilyatiornamentsوَهُوَwa-huwaand heفِيfilinٱلۡخِصَامِkhiṣaamithe disputeغَيۡرُg̣ayru(is) notمُبِينٖmubeen?clear١٨
43:19وَجَعَلُواْWa-jaʻalulAnd they madeٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَmalaaaʹikatalthe Angelsٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoهُمۡhumthemselvesعِبَٰدُʻibaadur(are) slavesٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِRaḥmaani(of) the Most Graciousإِنَٰثًاۚʹinaas̤aa.femalesأَشَهِدُواْʹA-shahidooDid they witnessخَلۡقَهُمۡۚkhalq̣ahum?their creationسَتُكۡتَبُSatuktabuWill be recordedشَهَٰدَتُهُمۡshahaadatuhumtheir testimonyوَيُسۡـَٔلُونَwa-yusʹaloon!and they will be questioned١٩
43:20وَقَالُواْWa-q̣aalooAnd they sayلَوۡlawIfشَآءَshaaaʹarhad willedٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُRaḥmaanuthe Most GraciousمَاMaa-we would not have worshipped themعَبَدۡنَٰهُمۗʻabadnaahum!we would not have worshipped themمَّاmaa-Notلَهُمlahum̃they haveبِذَٰلِكَbiẓaalikaabout thatمِنۡminanyعِلۡمٍۖʻilm!knowledgeإِنۡʹInNothingهُمۡhumthey (do)إِلَّاʹillaabutيَخۡرُصُونَyakhruṣoon!lie٢٠
43:21أَمۡʹAmOrءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡʹaataynaahumhave We given themكِتَٰبٗاKitaabama bookمِّنmiñbefore itقَبۡلِهِۦq̣abliheebefore itفَهُمfahum̃so theyبِهِۦbiheeto itمُسۡتَمۡسِكُونَmustamsikoon?(are) holding fast٢١
43:22بَلۡBalNayقَالُوٓاْq̣aalooothey sayإِنَّاʹinnaaIndeed weوَجَدۡنَآwajadnaaa[we] foundءَابَآءَنَاʹaabaaaʹanaaour forefathersعَلَىٰٓʻalaaauponأُمَّةٖʹummatiñwa religionوَإِنَّاWaʹinnaaand indeed weعَلَىٰٓʻalaaaonءَاثَٰرِهِمʹaas̤aarihimtheir footstepsمُّهۡتَدُونَmuhtadoon.(are) guided٢٢
43:23وَكَذَٰلِكَWa-kaẓaalikaAnd thusمَآmaaanotأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaaWe sentمِنmiñbefore youقَبۡلِكَq̣ablikabefore youفِيfeeinقَرۡيَةٖq̣aryatima townمِّنminanyنَّذِيرٍNaẓeerinwarnerإِلَّاʹillaaexceptقَالَq̣aalasaidمُتۡرَفُوهَآmutrafoohaaa(the) wealthy ones of itإِنَّاʹinnaaIndeed weوَجَدۡنَآwajadnaaa[we] foundءَابَآءَنَاʹaabaaaʹanaaour forefathersعَلَىٰٓʻalaaaonأُمَّةٖʹummatiñwa religionوَإِنَّاwaʹinnaaand indeed weعَلَىٰٓʻalaaa[on]ءَاثَٰرِهِمʹaas̤aarihimtheir footstepsمُّقۡتَدُونَmuq̣tadoon.(are) following٢٣
43:24۞قَٰلَQ̣aalaHe saidأَوَلَوۡʹa-wa lawEven ifجِئۡتُكُمjiʹtukum̃I brought youبِأَهۡدَىٰbiʹahdaabetter guidanceمِمَّاmimmaathan whatوَجَدتُّمۡwajattumyou foundعَلَيۡهِʻalayhion itءَابَآءَكُمۡۖʹaabaaaʹakum?your forefathersقَالُوٓاْQ̣aaloooThey saidإِنَّاʹinnaaIndeed weبِمَآbimaaawith whatأُرۡسِلۡتُمʹursiltum̃you are sentبِهِۦbiheewith [it]كَٰفِرُونَkaafiroon.(are) disbelievers٢٤
43:25فَٱنتَقَمۡنَاFañtaq̣amnaaSo We took retributionمِنۡهُمۡۖminhumfrom themفَٱنظُرۡfañz̤̣urThen seeكَيۡفَkayfahowكَانَkaanawasعَٰقِبَةُʻaaq̣ibatul(the) endٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَmukaẓẓibeen!(of) the deniers٢٥
43:26وَإِذۡWa-ʹiẓAnd whenقَالَq̣aalaIbrahim SaidإِبۡرَٰهِيمُʹIbraaheemuIbrahim Saidلِأَبِيهِliʹabeehito his fatherوَقَوۡمِهِۦٓwa-q̣awmiheeeand his peopleإِنَّنِيʹinnaneeIndeed I (am)بَرَآءٞbaraaaʹumdisassociatedمِّمَّاmimmaafrom whatتَعۡبُدُونَtaʻbudoon:you worship٢٦
43:27إِلَّاʹIllalExceptٱلَّذِيlaẓeethe One Whoفَطَرَنِيfaṭaraneecreated meفَإِنَّهُۥfaʹinnahooand indeed Heسَيَهۡدِينِsayahdeen.will guide me٢٧
43:28وَجَعَلَهَاWa-jaʻalahaaAnd he made itكَلِمَةَۢKalimatama wordبَاقِيَةٗbaaq̣iyatañlastingفِيfeeamongعَقِبِهِۦʻaq̣ibiheehis descendentsلَعَلَّهُمۡlaʻallahumso that they mayيَرۡجِعُونَyarjiʻoon.return٢٨
43:29بَلۡBalNayمَتَّعۡتُmattaʻtuI gave enjoymentهَٰٓؤُلَآءِhaaaʹulaaaʹi(to) theseوَءَابَآءَهُمۡwa-ʹaabaaaʹahumand their forefathersحَتَّىٰḥattaauntilجَآءَهُمُjaaaʹahumulcame to themٱلۡحَقُّḤaq̣q̣uthe truthوَرَسُولٞwa-Rasoolumand a Messengerمُّبِينٞmubeen.clear٢٩
43:30وَلَمَّاWa-lammaaAnd whenجَآءَهُمُjaaaʹahumulcame to themٱلۡحَقُّḤaq̣q̣uthe truthقَالُواْq̣aaloothey saidهَٰذَاhaaẓaaThisسِحۡرٞsiḥruñw(is) magicوَإِنَّاwaʹinnaaand indeed weبِهِۦbiheeof itكَٰفِرُونَkaafiroon.(are) disbelievers٣٠
43:31وَقَالُواْWaq̣aalooAnd they sayلَوۡلَاLaw-laaWhy notنُزِّلَnuzzilawas sent downهَٰذَاhaaẓalthisٱلۡقُرۡءَانُQ̣urʹaanuthe Quranعَلَىٰʻalaatoرَجُلٖrajulima manمِّنَminalfromٱلۡقَرۡيَتَيۡنِq̣aryataynithe two townsعَظِيمٍʻaz̤̣eem?great٣١
43:32أَهُمۡʹAhumDo theyيَقۡسِمُونَyaq̣simoonadistributeرَحۡمَتَRaḥmata(the) MercyرَبِّكَۚRabbik?(of) your LordنَحۡنُNaḥnuWeقَسَمۡنَاq̣asamnaa[We] distributeبَيۡنَهُمbaynahumamong themمَّعِيشَتَهُمۡmaʻeeshatahumtheir livelihoodفِيfilinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِḥayaatidthe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۚdunyaa(of) the worldوَرَفَعۡنَاwa-rafaʻnaaand We raiseبَعۡضَهُمۡbaʻḍahumsome of themفَوۡقَfawq̣aaboveبَعۡضٖbaʻḍiñothersدَرَجَٰتٖdarajaatil(in) degreesلِّيَتَّخِذَliyattakhiẓaso that may takeبَعۡضُهُمbaʻḍuhum̃some of themبَعۡضٗاbaʻḍañothersسُخۡرِيّٗاۗsukhriyyaa.(for) serviceوَرَحۡمَتُWa-RaḥmatuBut (the) MercyرَبِّكَRabbika(of) your Lordخَيۡرٞkhayrum(is) betterمِّمَّاmimmaathan whatيَجۡمَعُونَyajmaʻoon.they accumulate٣٢
43:33وَلَوۡلَآWa-lawlaaaAnd if notأَنʹañythatيَكُونَyakoonan(would) becomeٱلنَّاسُnaasu[the] mankindأُمَّةٗʹummatañwa communityوَٰحِدَةٗwaaḥidataloneلَّجَعَلۡنَاlajaʻalnaaWe (would have) madeلِمَنlimañyfor (one) whoيَكۡفُرُyakfurudisbelievesبِٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِbir-Raḥmaaniin the Most Graciousلِبُيُوتِهِمۡlibuyootihimfor their housesسُقُفٗاsuq̣ufamroofsمِّنmiñofفِضَّةٖfiḍḍatiñwsilverوَمَعَارِجَwamaʻaarijaand stairwaysعَلَيۡهَاʻalayhaaupon whichيَظۡهَرُونَyaz̤̣haroon,they mount٣٣
43:34وَلِبُيُوتِهِمۡWa-li-buyootihimAnd for their housesأَبۡوَٰبٗاʹabwaabañwdoorsوَسُرُرًاWasururanand couchesعَلَيۡهَاʻalayhaaupon whichيَتَّكِـُٔونَyattakiʹoon,they recline٣٤
43:35وَزُخۡرُفٗاۚWa-ZUKHRUFAA.And ornaments of goldوَإِنWa-ʹiñAnd not (is)كُلُّkulluallذَٰلِكَẓaalikathatلَمَّاlammaabutمَتَٰعُmataaʻulan enjoymentٱلۡحَيَوٰةِḥayaatid(of) the lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۚdunyaa:(of) the worldوَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُwal-ʹAakhiratuAnd the HereafterعِندَʻiñdawithرَبِّكَRabbikayour Lordلِلۡمُتَّقِينَlil-Muttaq̣een.(is) for the righteous٣٥
43:36وَمَنWa-mañyAnd whoeverيَعۡشُyaʻshuturns awayعَنʻañfromذِكۡرِẓikrir(the) remembranceٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِRaḥmaani(of) the Most Graciousنُقَيِّضۡnuq̣ayyiḍWe appointلَهُۥlahoofor himشَيۡطَٰنٗاshayṭaanaña devilفَهُوَfahuwathen heلَهُۥlahoo(is) to himقَرِينٞq̣areen.a companion٣٦
43:37وَإِنَّهُمۡWa-ʹinnahumAnd indeed theyلَيَصُدُّونَهُمۡlayaṣuddoonahumsurely turn themعَنِʻanisfromٱلسَّبِيلِsabeelithe Pathوَيَحۡسَبُونَwa-yaḥsaboonaand they thinkأَنَّهُمʹannahumthat theyمُّهۡتَدُونَmuhtadoon!(are) guided٣٧
43:38حَتَّىٰٓḤattaaaUntilإِذَاʹiẓaawhenجَآءَنَاjaaaʹanaahe comes to Usقَالَq̣aalahe saysيَٰلَيۡتَyaa-laytaO would thatبَيۡنِيbayneebetween meوَبَيۡنَكَwa-baynakaand between youبُعۡدَbuʻdal(were the) distanceٱلۡمَشۡرِقَيۡنِMashriq̣ayni(of) the East and the WestفَبِئۡسَfabiʹsalHow wretched isٱلۡقَرِينُq̣areen!the companion٣٨
43:39وَلَنWa-lañyAnd neverيَنفَعَكُمُyañfaʻakumulwill benefit youٱلۡيَوۡمَyawmathe Dayإِذʹiz̤̣whenظَّلَمۡتُمۡz̤̣alamtumyou have wrongedأَنَّكُمۡʹannakumthat youفِيfil(will be) inٱلۡعَذَابِʻaẓaabithe punishmentمُشۡتَرِكُونَmushtarikoon!sharing٣٩
43:40أَفَأَنتَʹA-faʹañtaThen can youتُسۡمِعُtusmiʻuṣcause to hearٱلصُّمَّṣummathe deafأَوۡʹaworتَهۡدِيtahdilguideٱلۡعُمۡيَʻumyathe blindوَمَنwa-mañand (one) whoكَانَkaanaisفِيfeeinضَلَٰلٖḍalaaliman errorمُّبِينٖmubeen?clear٤٠
43:41فَإِمَّاFaʹimmaaAnd whetherنَذۡهَبَنَّnaẓhabannaWe take you awayبِكَbikaWe take you awayفَإِنَّاfaʹinnaathen indeed Weمِنۡهُمminhumfrom themمُّنتَقِمُونَmuñtaq̣imoon,(will) take retribution٤١
43:42أَوۡʹAwOrنُرِيَنَّكَnuriyannakalWe show youٱلَّذِيlaẓeethat whichوَعَدۡنَٰهُمۡwaʻadnaahumWe have promised themفَإِنَّاfaʹinnaathen indeed Weعَلَيۡهِمʻalayhimover themمُّقۡتَدِرُونَmuq̣tadiroon.have full power٤٢
43:43فَٱسۡتَمۡسِكۡFastamsikSo hold fastبِٱلَّذِيٓbillaẓeeeto that whichأُوحِيَʹooḥiyais revealedإِلَيۡكَۖʹilayk:to youإِنَّكَʹinnakaIndeed youعَلَىٰʻalaa(are) onصِرَٰطٖṢiraaṭima PathمُّسۡتَقِيمٖMustaq̣eem.Straight٤٣
43:44وَإِنَّهُۥWa-ʹinnahooAnd indeed itلَذِكۡرٞla-Ẓikrul(is) surely a Reminderلَّكَlakafor youوَلِقَوۡمِكَۖwa-liq̣awmik;and your peopleوَسَوۡفَwa-sawfaand soonتُسۡـَٔلُونَtusʹaloon.you will be questioned٤٤
43:45وَسۡـَٔلۡWasʹalAnd askمَنۡman(those) whomأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaaWe sentمِنmiñbefore youقَبۡلِكَq̣ablikabefore youمِنmirofرُّسُلِنَآrusulinaaaOur Messengersأَجَعَلۡنَاʹajaʻalnaadid We makeمِنmiñbesidesدُونِdoonirbesidesٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِRaḥmaanithe Most Graciousءَالِهَةٗʹaalihatañygodsيُعۡبَدُونَyuʻbadoon?to be worshipped٤٥
43:46وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaaWe sentمُوسَىٰMoosaaMusaبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآbiʹAayaatinaaawith Our SignsإِلَىٰʹilaatoفِرۡعَوۡنَFirʻawnaFiraunوَمَلَإِيْهِۦwa-malaʹiheeand his chiefsفَقَالَfaq̣aalaand he saidإِنِّيʹinneeIndeed I amرَسُولُRasoolua MessengerرَبِّRabbil(of the) LordٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَʻAalameen.(of) the worlds٤٦
43:47فَلَمَّاFalammaaBut whenجَآءَهُمjaaaʹahum̃he came to themبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآbiʹAayaatinaaawith Our SignsإِذَاʹiẓaabeholdهُمhumTheyمِّنۡهَاminhaaat themيَضۡحَكُونَyaḍḥakoon.laughed٤٧
43:48وَمَاWa-maaAnd notنُرِيهِمnureehimWe showed themمِّنۡminofءَايَةٍʹaayatina Signإِلَّاʹillaabutهِيَhiyaitأَكۡبَرُʹakbaru(was) greaterمِنۡminthanأُخۡتِهَاۖʹukhtihaa,its sisterوَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمwa-ʹakhaẓnaahum̃and We seized themبِٱلۡعَذَابِbilʻaẓaabiwith the punishmentلَعَلَّهُمۡlaʻallahumso that they mayيَرۡجِعُونَyarjiʻoon.return٤٨
43:49وَقَالُواْWa-q̣aalooAnd they saidيَٰٓأَيُّهَyaaaʹayyuhasOٱلسَّاحِرُsaaḥirud[the] magicianٱدۡعُʹuInvokeلَنَاlanaafor usرَبَّكَRabbakayour Lordبِمَاbimaaby whatعَهِدَʻahidaHe has made covenantعِندَكَʻiñdak;with youإِنَّنَاʹinnanaaIndeed weلَمُهۡتَدُونَlamuhtadoon.(will) surely be guided٤٩
43:50فَلَمَّاFalammaaBut whenكَشَفۡنَاkashafnaaWe removedعَنۡهُمُʻanhumulfrom themٱلۡعَذَابَʻaẓaabathe punishmentإِذَاʹiẓaabeholdهُمۡhumTheyيَنكُثُونَyañkus̤oon.broke (their word)٥٠
