41:2تَنزِيلٞTañzeelumA revelationمِّنَminarfromٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِRaḥmaanirthe Most GraciousٱلرَّحِيمِRaḥeem;―the Most Merciful٢
41:3كِتَٰبٞKitaabuñA Bookفُصِّلَتۡfuṣṣilatare detailedءَايَٰتُهُۥʹAayaatuhooits VersesقُرۡءَانًاQ̣ur-ʹaanana Quranعَرَبِيّٗاʻarabiyyal(in) Arabicلِّقَوۡمٖliq̣awmiñyfor a peopleيَعۡلَمُونَyaʻlamoon;(who) know٣
41:4بَشِيرٗاBasheerañwA giver of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرٗاWa-Naẓeeraa:and a warnerفَأَعۡرَضَfaʹaʻraḍabut turn awayأَكۡثَرُهُمۡʹaks̤aruhummost of themفَهُمۡfahumso theyلَاlaa-(do) notيَسۡمَعُونَyasmaʻoon.hear٤
41:5وَقَالُواْWa-q̣aalooAnd they sayقُلُوبُنَاq̣uloobunaaOur heartsفِيٓfeee(are) inأَكِنَّةٖʹakinnatimcoveringsمِّمَّاmimmaafrom whatتَدۡعُونَآtadʻoonaaayou call usإِلَيۡهِʹilayhito itوَفِيٓwa-feeeand inءَاذَانِنَاʹaaẓaaninaaeour earsوَقۡرٞwaq̣ruñw(is) deafnessوَمِنۢwamimand between usبَيۡنِنَاbayninaaand between usوَبَيۡنِكَwa-baynikaand between youحِجَابٞḥijaabuñ(is) a screenفَٱعۡمَلۡfaʻmalSo workإِنَّنَاʹinnanaaindeed weعَٰمِلُونَʻaamiloon.(are) working٥
41:6قُلۡQ̣ulSayإِنَّمَآʹinnamaaaOnlyأَنَا۠ʹanaI amبَشَرٞbasharuma manمِّثۡلُكُمۡmis̤lukumlike youيُوحَىٰٓyooḥaaait is revealedإِلَيَّʹilayyato meأَنَّمَآʹannamaaathatإِلَٰهُكُمۡʹIlaahukumyour godإِلَٰهٞʹIlaahuñw(is) GodوَٰحِدٞWaaḥiduñOneفَٱسۡتَقِيمُوٓاْfastaq̣eemoooso take a Straight Pathإِلَيۡهِʹilayhito Himوَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوهُۗwastag̣firooh.and ask His forgivenessوَوَيۡلٞWa-waylulAnd woeلِّلۡمُشۡرِكِينَlil-Mushrikeen,―to the polytheists٦
41:7ٱلَّذِينَʹAllaẓeenaThose whoلَاlaa-(do) notيُؤۡتُونَyuʹtoonazgiveٱلزَّكَوٰةَZakaatathe zakahوَهُمwa-hum̃and theyبِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِbil-ʹAakhiratiin the Hereafterهُمۡhumtheyكَٰفِرُونَkaafiroon.(are) disbelievers٧
41:8إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelieveوَعَمِلُواْwa-ʻamiluṣand doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِṣaaliḥaatirighteous deedsلَهُمۡlahumfor themأَجۡرٌʹajrun(is) a rewardغَيۡرُg̣ayrunever endingمَمۡنُونٖmamnoon.never ending٨
41:9۞قُلۡQ̣ulSayأَئِنَّكُمۡʹaʹinnakumDo you indeedلَتَكۡفُرُونَlatakfuroona[surely] disbelieveبِٱلَّذِيbillaẓeein the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaq̣alcreatedٱلۡأَرۡضَʹarḍathe earthفِيfeeinيَوۡمَيۡنِYawmaynitwo periodsوَتَجۡعَلُونَwa-tajʻaloonaand you set upلَهُۥٓlahooowith Himأَندَادٗاۚʹañdaadaa?rivalsذَٰلِكَẒaalikaThatرَبُّRabbul(is the) LordٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَʻAalameen.(of) the worlds٩
41:10وَجَعَلَWa-jaʻalaAnd He placedفِيهَاfeehaathereinرَوَٰسِيَrawaasiyafirmly-set mountainsمِنmiñabove itفَوۡقِهَاfawq̣ihaaabove itوَبَٰرَكَwa-baarakaand He blessedفِيهَاfeehaathereinوَقَدَّرَwa-q̣addaraand determinedفِيهَآfeehaaathereinأَقۡوَٰتَهَاʹaq̣waatahaaits sustenanceفِيٓfeeeinأَرۡبَعَةِarbaʻatifourأَيَّامٖʹAyyaam;periodsسَوَآءٗsawaaaʹalequalلِّلسَّآئِلِينَlissaaaʹileen.for those who ask١٠
41:11ثُمَّS̤ummasThenٱسۡتَوَىٰٓtawaaaHe directed (Himself)إِلَىʹilastowardsٱلسَّمَآءِsamaaaʹithe heavenوَهِيَwa-hiyawhile it (was)دُخَانٞdukhaanuñsmokeفَقَالَfaq̣aalaand He saidلَهَاlahaato itوَلِلۡأَرۡضِwa-lilʹarḍiʹand to the earthٱئۡتِيَاtiyaaCome both of youطَوۡعًاṭawʻanwillinglyأَوۡʹaworكَرۡهٗاkarhaa.unwillinglyقَالَتَآQ̣aalataaaThey both saidأَتَيۡنَاʹataynaaWe comeطَآئِعِينَṭaaʹiʻeen.willingly١١
41:12فَقَضَىٰهُنَّFaq̣aḍaahunnaThen He completed themسَبۡعَsabʻa(as) sevenسَمَٰوَاتٖsamaawaatiñheavensفِيfeeinيَوۡمَيۡنِYawmaynitwo periodsوَأَوۡحَىٰwa-ʹawḥaaand He revealedفِيfeeinكُلِّkullieachسَمَآءٍsamaaaʹinheavenأَمۡرَهَاۚʹamrahaa.its affairوَزَيَّنَّاWa-zayyannassaAnd We adornedٱلسَّمَآءَmaaaʹadthe heavenٱلدُّنۡيَاdunyaa[the world]بِمَصَٰبِيحَbimaṣaabeeḥawith lampsوَحِفۡظٗاۚwa-ḥifz̤̣aa.and (to) guardذَٰلِكَẒaalikaThatتَقۡدِيرُTaq̣deerul(is the) DecreeٱلۡعَزِيزِʻAzeezil(of) the All-MightyٱلۡعَلِيمِʻAleem.the All-Knower١٢
41:13فَإِنۡFaʹinBut ifأَعۡرَضُواْʹaʻraḍoothey turn awayفَقُلۡfaq̣ulthen sayأَنذَرۡتُكُمۡʹañẓartukumI have warned youصَٰعِقَةٗṢaaʻiq̣atam(of) a thunderboltمِّثۡلَmis̤lalikeصَٰعِقَةِṢaaʻiq̣ati(the) thunderboltعَادٖʻAadiñw(of) AadوَثَمُودَWa-S̤amood!and Thamud١٣
41:14إِذۡʹIẓWhenجَآءَتۡهُمُjaaaʹathumurcame to themٱلرُّسُلُrusuluthe Messengersمِنۢmimfrom before themبَيۡنِbaynifrom before themأَيۡدِيهِمۡʹaydeehimfrom before themوَمِنۡwa-minand fromخَلۡفِهِمۡkhalfihimbehind themأَلَّاʹallaa(saying) Do notتَعۡبُدُوٓاْtaʻbudoooworshipإِلَّاʹillalexceptٱللَّهَۖlaah.AllahقَالُواْQ̣aalooThey saidلَوۡlawIfشَآءَshaaaʹa(had) willedرَبُّنَاRabbunaaour Lordلَأَنزَلَlaʹañzalasurely He (would have) sent downمَلَٰٓئِكَةٗmalaaaʹikatañAngelsفَإِنَّاfaʹinnaaSo indeed weبِمَآbimaaain whatأُرۡسِلۡتُمʹursiltum̃you have been sentبِهِۦbiheewithكَٰفِرُونَkaafiroon.(are) disbelievers١٤
41:15فَأَمَّاFaʹammaaThen as forعَادٞʻAaduñAadفَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْfastakbaroothey were arrogantفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe landبِغَيۡرِbig̣ayrilwithoutٱلۡحَقِّḥaq̣q̣i[the] rightوَقَالُواْwa-q̣aalooand they saidمَنۡmanWhoأَشَدُّʹashaddu(is) mightierمِنَّاminnaathan usقُوَّةًۖq̣uwwah?(in) strengthأَوَلَمۡʹAwalamDo notيَرَوۡاْyarawthey seeأَنَّʹannalthatٱللَّهَlaahalAllahٱلَّذِيlaẓeethe One Whoخَلَقَهُمۡkhalaq̣ahumcreated themهُوَHuwaHeأَشَدُّʹashaddu(is) Mightierمِنۡهُمۡminhumthan themقُوَّةٗۖq̣uwwah?(in) strengthوَكَانُواْWa-kaanooBut they used toبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹAayaatinaain Our Signsيَجۡحَدُونَyajḥadoon!deny١٥
41:16فَأَرۡسَلۡنَاFaʹarsalnaaSo We sentعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimupon themرِيحٗاReeḥaña windصَرۡصَرٗاṣarṣarañfuriousفِيٓfeeeinأَيَّامٖʹAyyaamin(the) daysنَّحِسَاتٖnaḥisaatil(of) misfortuneلِّنُذِيقَهُمۡlinuẓeeq̣ahumthat We may make them tasteعَذَابَʻaẓaabal(the) punishmentٱلۡخِزۡيِkhizyi(of) disgraceفِيfilinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِḥayaatidthe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۖdunyaa;(of) the worldوَلَعَذَابُwa-laʻAẓaabulAnd surely (the) punishmentٱلۡأٓخِرَةِʹAakhirati(of) the Hereafterأَخۡزَىٰۖʹakhzaa(is) more disgracingوَهُمۡWahumand theyلَاlaa-will not be helpedيُنصَرُونَyuñṣaroon.will not be helped١٦
41:17وَأَمَّاWa-ʹammaaAnd as forثَمُودُS̤amooduThamudفَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡfahadaynaahumWe guided themفَٱسۡتَحَبُّواْfastaḥabbulbut they preferredٱلۡعَمَىٰʻamaa[the] blindnessعَلَىʻalaloverٱلۡهُدَىٰHudaathe guidanceفَأَخَذَتۡهُمۡfaʹakhaẓathumso seized themصَٰعِقَةُṢaaʻiq̣atula thunderboltٱلۡعَذَابِʻaẓaabil(of) the punishmentٱلۡهُونِhoonihumiliatingبِمَاbimaafor whatكَانُواْkaanoothey used toيَكۡسِبُونَyaksiboon.earn١٧
41:18وَنَجَّيۡنَاWa-najjaynalAnd We savedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelievedوَكَانُواْwa-kaanooand used toيَتَّقُونَyattaq̣oon.fear (Allah)١٨
41:19وَيَوۡمَWa-YawmaAnd (the) Dayيُحۡشَرُyuḥsharuwill be gatheredأَعۡدَآءُʹaʻdaaaʹul(the) enemiesٱللَّهِlaahi(of) AllahإِلَىʹilantoٱلنَّارِNaarithe Fireفَهُمۡfahumthen theyيُوزَعُونَyoozaʻoon.will be assembled in rows١٩
41:20حَتَّىٰٓḤattaaaUntilإِذَاʹiẓaawhenمَاmaa-whenجَآءُوهَاjaaaʹoohaathey come to itشَهِدَshahida(will) testifyعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimagainst themسَمۡعُهُمۡsamʻuhumtheir hearingوَأَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡwa-ʹabṣaaruhumand their sightوَجُلُودُهُمwa-julooduhum̃and their skinsبِمَاbimaa(as) to whatكَانُواْkaanoothey used toيَعۡمَلُونَyaʻmaloon.do٢٠
41:21وَقَالُواْWa-q̣aalooAnd they will sayلِجُلُودِهِمۡlijuloodihimto their skinsلِمَlimaWhy doشَهِدتُّمۡshahittumyou testifyعَلَيۡنَاۖʻalaynaa?against usقَالُوٓاْQ̣aaloooThey will sayأَنطَقَنَاʹañṭaq̣analAllah made us speakٱللَّهُlaahulAllah made us speakٱلَّذِيٓlaẓeeethe One Whoأَنطَقَʹañṭaq̣amakes speakكُلَّkullaeveryشَيۡءٖۚshayʹiñwthingوَهُوَwa-Huwaand Heخَلَقَكُمۡkhalaq̣akumcreated youأَوَّلَʹawwala(the) firstمَرَّةٖmarratiñwtimeوَإِلَيۡهِwaʹilayhiand to Himتُرۡجَعُونَturjaʻoon.you will be returned٢١
41:22وَمَاWa-maaAnd notكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou wereتَسۡتَتِرُونَtastatiroonacovering yourselvesأَنʹañylestيَشۡهَدَyashhadatestifyعَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykumagainst youسَمۡعُكُمۡsamʻukumyour hearingوَلَآwa-laaaand notأَبۡصَٰرُكُمۡʹabṣaarukumyour sightوَلَاwa-laaand notجُلُودُكُمۡjuloodukumyour skinsوَلَٰكِنwa-laakiñbutظَنَنتُمۡz̤̣anañtumyou assumedأَنَّʹannalthatٱللَّهَlaahaAllahلَاlaa-(does) notيَعۡلَمُyaʻlamuknowكَثِيرٗاkas̤eerammuchمِّمَّاmimmaaof whatتَعۡمَلُونَtaʻmaloon!you do٢٢
41:23وَذَٰلِكُمۡWa-ẓaalikumAnd thatظَنُّكُمُz̤̣annukumul(was) your assumptionٱلَّذِيlaẓeewhichظَنَنتُمz̤̣anañtum̃you assumedبِرَبِّكُمۡbi-Rabbikumabout your LordأَرۡدَىٰكُمۡʹardaakumIt has ruined youفَأَصۡبَحۡتُمfaʹaṣbaḥtumand you have becomeمِّنَminalofٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَkhaasireen.the losers٢٣
41:24فَإِنFaʹiñyThen ifيَصۡبِرُواْyaṣbiroothey endureفَٱلنَّارُfan-naaruthe Fireمَثۡوٗىmas̤wal(is) an abodeلَّهُمۡۖlahum!for themوَإِنWa-ʹiñyand ifيَسۡتَعۡتِبُواْyastaʻtiboothey ask for favorفَمَاfamaathen notهُمhumtheyمِّنَminal(will be) ofٱلۡمُعۡتَبِينَmuʻtabeen.those who receive favor٢٤
41:25۞وَقَيَّضۡنَاWa-q̣ayyaḍnaaAnd We have destinedلَهُمۡlahumfor themقُرَنَآءَq̣uranaaaʹacompanionsفَزَيَّنُواْfazayyanoo(who) made fair-seemingلَهُمlahumto themمَّاmaawhatبَيۡنَbayna(was) before themأَيۡدِيهِمۡʹaydeehim(was) before themوَمَاwa-maaand whatخَلۡفَهُمۡkhalfahum(was) behind themوَحَقَّwa-ḥaq̣q̣aand (is) justifiedعَلَيۡهِمُʻalayhimulagainst themٱلۡقَوۡلُq̣awluthe Wordفِيٓfeeeamongأُمَمٖʹumamiñnationsقَدۡq̣ad(that have) passed awayخَلَتۡkhalat(that have) passed awayمِنmiñbefore themقَبۡلِهِمq̣ablihimbefore themمِّنَminalofٱلۡجِنِّJinnithe jinnوَٱلۡإِنسِۖwal-ʹIñs;and the menإِنَّهُمۡʹinnahumIndeed theyكَانُواْkaanoowereخَٰسِرِينَkhaasireen.losers٢٥
41:26وَقَالَWa-q̣aalalAnd saidٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveلَاlaa-(Do) notتَسۡمَعُواْtasmaʻoolistenلِهَٰذَاlihaaẓalto thisٱلۡقُرۡءَانِQ̣urʹaaniQuranوَٱلۡغَوۡاْwalg̣awand make noiseفِيهِfeehithereinلَعَلَّكُمۡlaʻallakumso that you mayتَغۡلِبُونَtag̣liboon!overcome٢٦
41:27فَلَنُذِيقَنَّFalanuẓeeq̣annalBut surely We will cause to tasteٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveعَذَابٗاʻaẓaabaña punishmentشَدِيدٗاshadeedañwsevereوَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡwalanajziyannahumand surely We will recompense themأَسۡوَأَʹaswaʹal(the) worstٱلَّذِيlaẓee(of) whatكَانُواْkaanoothey used toيَعۡمَلُونَyaʻmaloon.do٢٧
41:28ذَٰلِكَẒaalikaThatجَزَآءُjazaaaʹu(is the) recompenseأَعۡدَآءِʹaʻdaaaʹil(of the) enemiesٱللَّهِlaahin(of) Allah ٱلنَّارُۖNaar:the Fireلَهُمۡlahumfor themفِيهَاfeehaathereinدَارُDaarul(is the) homeٱلۡخُلۡدِKhuld:(of) the eternityجَزَآءَۢjazaaaʹam(as) recompenseبِمَاbimaafor whatكَانُواْkaanoothey used toبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹAayaatinaaof Our Versesيَجۡحَدُونَyajḥadoon.reject٢٨
41:29وَقَالَWa-q̣aalalAnd (will) sayٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveرَبَّنَآRabbanaaaOur LordأَرِنَاʹarinalShow usٱلَّذَيۡنِlaẓeenathose whoأَضَلَّانَاʹaḍal-laanaamisled usمِنَminalofٱلۡجِنِّjinnithe jinnوَٱلۡإِنسِwal-ʹiñsiand the menنَجۡعَلۡهُمَاnajʻalhumaa(so) we may put themتَحۡتَtaḥtaunderأَقۡدَامِنَاʹaq̣daaminaaour feetلِيَكُونَاliyakoonaathat they beمِنَminalofٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَʹasfaleen.the lowest٢٩
41:30إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoقَالُواْq̣aaloosayرَبُّنَاRabbunalOur Lordٱللَّهُlaahu(is) Allahثُمَّs̤ummasthenٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْtaq̣aamoostand firm تَتَنَزَّلُtatanazzaluwill descendعَلَيۡهِمُʻalayhimulon themٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُmalaaaʹikatuthe Angelsأَلَّاʹallaa(Do) notتَخَافُواْtakhaafoofearوَلَاwa-laaand (do) notتَحۡزَنُواْtaḥzanoogrieveوَأَبۡشِرُواْwa-ʹabshiroobut receive the glad tidingsبِٱلۡجَنَّةِbil-Jannatilof Paradiseٱلَّتِيlateewhichكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou wereتُوعَدُونَtooʻadoon!promised٣٠
41:31نَحۡنُNaḥnuWeأَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡʹawliyaaaʹukum(are) your protectorsفِيfilinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِḥayaatidthe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاdunyaa(of) the worldوَفِيwa-filand inٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖʹAakhirah:the Hereafterوَلَكُمۡwa-lakumAnd for youفِيهَاfeehaathereinمَاmaa-whateverتَشۡتَهِيٓtashtaheeedesireأَنفُسُكُمۡʹañfusukumyour soulsوَلَكُمۡwa-lakumand for youفِيهَاfeehaathereinمَاmaa-whatتَدَّعُونَtaddaʻoon!you ask٣١
41:32نُزُلٗاNuzulamA hospitable giftمِّنۡminfromغَفُورٖG̣afoorir(the) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٖRaḥeem.(the) Most Merciful٣٢
41:33وَمَنۡWa-manAnd whoأَحۡسَنُʹaḥsanu(is) betterقَوۡلٗاq̣awlam(in) speechمِّمَّنmimmañthan (one) whoدَعَآdaʻaaainvitesإِلَىʹilaltoٱللَّهِlaahiAllahوَعَمِلَwa-ʻamilaand doesصَٰلِحٗاṣaaliḥañwrighteous (deeds)وَقَالَwaq̣aalaand saysإِنَّنِيʹinnaneeIndeed I amمِنَminalofٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَMuslimeen?those who submit٣٣
41:34وَلَاWa-laaAnd notتَسۡتَوِيtastawil(are) equalٱلۡحَسَنَةُḥasanatuthe good (deed)وَلَاwa-lasandٱلسَّيِّئَةُۚsayyiʹah.the evil (deed)ٱدۡفَعۡʹIdfaʻRepelبِٱلَّتِيbillateeby (that) whichهِيَhiya[it]أَحۡسَنُʹaḥsanu(is) betterفَإِذَاfaʹiẓalthen beholdٱلَّذِيlaẓeeOne whoبَيۡنَكَbaynakabetween youوَبَيۡنَهُۥwa-baynahooand between himعَدَٰوَةٞʻadaawatuñ(was) enmityكَأَنَّهُۥkaʹannahoo(will become) as if heوَلِيٌّwa-liyyun(was) a friendحَمِيمٞḥameem!intimate٣٤
41:35وَمَاWa-maaAnd notيُلَقَّىٰهَآyulaq̣q̣aahaaait is grantedإِلَّاʹillalexceptٱلَّذِينَlaẓeena(to) those whoصَبَرُواْṣabaroo(are) patientوَمَاwa-maaand notيُلَقَّىٰهَآyulaq̣q̣aahaaait is grantedإِلَّاʹillaaexceptذُوẓoo(to the) ownerحَظٍّḥaz̤̣z̤̣in(of) fortuneعَظِيمٖʻaz̤̣eem.great٣٥
41:36وَإِمَّاWa-ʹimmaaAnd ifيَنزَغَنَّكَyañzag̣annakawhisper comes to youمِنَminashfromٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِShayṭaanithe Shaitaanنَزۡغٞnazg̣uñan evil suggestionفَٱسۡتَعِذۡfastaʻiẓthen seek refugeبِٱللَّهِۖbillaah.in AllahإِنَّهُۥʹInnahooIndeed HeهُوَHuwas[He]ٱلسَّمِيعُSameeʻul(is) the All-HearerٱلۡعَلِيمُʻAleem.the All-Knower٣٦
41:37وَمِنۡWa-minAnd ofءَايَٰتِهِʹAayaatihilHis Signsٱلَّيۡلُlaylu(are) the nightوَٱلنَّهَارُwannahaaruand the dayوَٱلشَّمۡسُwashshamsuand the sunوَٱلۡقَمَرُۚwalq̣amar.and the moonلَاLaa-(Do) notتَسۡجُدُواْtasjudooprostrateلِلشَّمۡسِlishshamsito the sunوَلَاwa-laaand notلِلۡقَمَرِlilq̣amarito the moonوَٱسۡجُدُواْۤwasjudoobut prostrateلِلَّهِۤlillaahilto Allahٱلَّذِيlaẓeethe One Whoخَلَقَهُنَّkhalaq̣ahunnacreated themإِنʹiñifكُنتُمۡkuñtumyouإِيَّاهُʹiyyaahuHim aloneتَعۡبُدُونَtaʻbudoon.worship٣٧
41:38فَإِنِFaʹinisBut ifٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْtakbaroothey are arrogantفَٱلَّذِينَfallaẓeenathen those whoعِندَʻiñda(are) nearرَبِّكَRabbikayour LordيُسَبِّحُونَyusabbiḥoonaglorifyلَهُۥlahooHimبِٱلَّيۡلِbillayliby nightوَٱلنَّهَارِwannahaariand dayوَهُمۡwahumAnd theyلَاlaa-(do) notيَسۡـَٔمُونَ۩yasʹamoon.tire٣٨
41:39وَمِنۡWa-minAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِۦٓʹAayaatiheeeHis Signsأَنَّكَʹannaka(is) that youتَرَىtaralseeٱلۡأَرۡضَʹarḍathe earthخَٰشِعَةٗkhaashiʻatañbarrenفَإِذَآfaʹiẓaaabut whenأَنزَلۡنَاʹañzalnaaWe send downعَلَيۡهَاʻalayhalupon itٱلۡمَآءَmaaaʹahwaterٱهۡتَزَّتۡtazzatit is stirred (to life)وَرَبَتۡۚwa-rabat.and growsإِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِيٓlaẓeeethe One Whoأَحۡيَاهَاʹaḥyaahaagives it lifeلَمُحۡيِla-Muḥyil(is) surely the Giver of lifeٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰٓۚmawtaa.(to) the deadإِنَّهُۥʹInnahooIndeed Heعَلَىٰʻalaa(is) onكُلِّkullieveryشَيۡءٖshayʹiñthingقَدِيرٌQ̣adeer.All-Powerful٣٩
41:40إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoيُلۡحِدُونَyulḥidoonadistortفِيٓfeee[in]ءَايَٰتِنَاʹAayaatinaaOur Versesلَاlaa-(are) notيَخۡفَوۡنَyakhfawnahiddenعَلَيۡنَآۗʻalaynaa.from UsأَفَمَنʹAfamañySo is (he) whoيُلۡقَىٰyulq̣aais castفِيfininٱلنَّارِnaarithe Fireخَيۡرٌkhayrunbetterأَمʹamorمَّنmañy(he) whoيَأۡتِيٓyaʹteeecomesءَامِنٗاʹaaminañysecureيَوۡمَYawmal(on the) DayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚQ̣iyaamah?(of) ResurrectionٱعۡمَلُواْʹIʻmalooDoمَاmaa-whatشِئۡتُمۡshiʹtumyou willإِنَّهُۥʹinnahooIndeed Heبِمَاbimaaof whatتَعۡمَلُونَtaʻmaloonayou doبَصِيرٌBaṣeer.(is) All-Seer٤٠
41:41إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveبِٱلذِّكۡرِbiẓ-Ẓikriin the Reminderلَمَّاlammaawhenجَآءَهُمۡۖjaaaʹahum.it comes to themوَإِنَّهُۥWa-ʹinnahooAnd indeed itلَكِتَٰبٌla-Kitaabun(is) surely a BookعَزِيزٞʻAzeez.mighty٤١
41:42لَّاLaa-Notيَأۡتِيهِyaʹteehilcomes to itٱلۡبَٰطِلُbaaṭiluthe falsehoodمِنۢmimfromبَيۡنِbaynibefore itيَدَيۡهِyadayhibefore itوَلَاwa-laaand notمِنۡminfromخَلۡفِهِۦۖkhalfih:behind itتَنزِيلٞTañzeelumA RevelationمِّنۡminfromحَكِيمٍḤakeemin(the) All-WiseحَمِيدٖḤameed.(the) Praiseworthy٤٢
41:43مَّاMaa-Notيُقَالُyuq̣aaluis saidلَكَlakato youإِلَّاʹillaaexceptمَاmaa-whatقَدۡq̣adwas saidقِيلَq̣eelawas saidلِلرُّسُلِlir-rusulito the Messengersمِنmiñbefore youقَبۡلِكَۚq̣ablik:before youإِنَّʹinnaIndeedرَبَّكَRabbakayour Lordلَذُوla-Ẓoo(is) Possessorمَغۡفِرَةٖmag̣firatiñw(of) forgivenessوَذُوwa-Ẓooand PossessorعِقَابٍʻIq̣aabin(of) penaltyأَلِيمٖʹaleem.painful٤٣
41:44وَلَوۡWa-lawAnd ifجَعَلۡنَٰهُjaʻalnaahuWe (had) made itقُرۡءَانًاQ̣ur-ʹaanana QuranأَعۡجَمِيّٗاʹAʻjamiyyal(in) a foreign (language)لَّقَالُواْlaq̣aaloothey (would have) saidلَوۡلَاlaw-laaWhy notفُصِّلَتۡfuṣṣilatare explained in detailءَايَٰتُهُۥٓۖʹAayaatuh?its versesءَا۬عۡجَمِيّٞʹAʻ-jamiyyuñw(Is it) a foreign (language)وَعَرَبِيّٞۗWaʻArabiyy?and an ArabقُلۡQ̣ulSayهُوَhuwaIt (is)لِلَّذِينَlillaẓeenafor those whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelieveهُدٗىhudañwa guidanceوَشِفَآءٞۚwashifaaaʹ:and a healingوَٱلَّذِينَwallaẓeenaAnd those whoلَاlaa-(do) notيُؤۡمِنُونَyuʹminoonabelieveفِيٓfeeeinءَاذَانِهِمۡʹaaẓaanihimtheir earsوَقۡرٞwaq̣ruñw(is) deafnessوَهُوَwahuwaand itعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhim(is) for themعَمًىۚʻamaa.blindnessأُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹUlaaaʹikaThoseيُنَادَوۡنَyunaadawnaare being calledمِنmimfromمَّكَانِۭmakaanima placeبَعِيدٖbaʻeed!far٤٤
41:45وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd certainlyءَاتَيۡنَاʹaataynaaWe gaveمُوسَىMoosalMusaٱلۡكِتَٰبَKitaabathe Bookفَٱخۡتُلِفَfakhtulifabut disputes aroseفِيهِۚfeeh.thereinوَلَوۡلَاWa-lawlaaAnd had it not beenكَلِمَةٞKalimatuñ(for) a wordسَبَقَتۡsabaq̣at(that) precededمِنmirfromرَّبِّكَRabbikayour Lordلَقُضِيَlaq̣uḍiyasurely would have been settledبَيۡنَهُمۡۚbaynahum:between themوَإِنَّهُمۡwa-ʹinnahumBut indeed theyلَفِيlafeesurely (are) inشَكّٖshakkimdoubtمِّنۡهُminhuabout itمُرِيبٖmureeb.disquieting٤٥
41:46مَّنۡManWhoeverعَمِلَʻamiladoesصَٰلِحٗاṣaaliḥañrighteous deedsفَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖfalinafsiheethen it is for his soulوَمَنۡwa-manand whoeverأَسَآءَʹasaaaʹadoes evilفَعَلَيۡهَاۗfaʻalayhaa:then it is against itوَمَاwa-maaAnd notرَبُّكَRabbuka(is) your Lordبِظَلَّٰمٖbiz̤̣allamilunjustلِّلۡعَبِيدِlil-ʻabeed.to His slaves٤٦
41:47۞إِلَيۡهِʹIlayhiTo Himيُرَدُّyuradduis referredعِلۡمُʻilmus(the) knowledgeٱلسَّاعَةِۚSaaʻah:(of) the Hourوَمَاwa-maaAnd notتَخۡرُجُtakhrujucomes outمِنmiñanyثَمَرَٰتٖs̤amaraatimfruitsمِّنۡminfromأَكۡمَامِهَاʹakmaamihaatheir coveringsوَمَاwa-maaand notتَحۡمِلُtaḥmilubearsمِنۡminanyأُنثَىٰʹuñs̤aafemaleوَلَاwa-laaand notتَضَعُtaḍaʻugives birthإِلَّاʹillaaexceptبِعِلۡمِهِۦۚbiʻilmih.with His knowledgeوَيَوۡمَWa-YawmaAnd (the) DayيُنَادِيهِمۡyunaadeehimHe will call themأَيۡنَʹaynaWhere (are)شُرَكَآءِيshurakaaaʹeeMy partnersقَالُوٓاْq̣aaloooThey will sayءَاذَنَّٰكَʹaaẓannaakaWe announce (to) Youمَاmaa-notمِنَّاminnaaamong usمِنmiñanyشَهِيدٖshaheed!witness٤٧
41:48وَضَلَّWa-ḍallaAnd lostعَنۡهُمʻanhumfrom themمَّاmaawhatكَانُواْkaanoothey wereيَدۡعُونَyadʻoonainvokingمِنmiñbeforeقَبۡلُۖq̣ablubeforeوَظَنُّواْwaz̤̣annooand they (will) be certainمَاmaa-(that) notلَهُمlahumfor themمِّنmimanyمَّحِيصٖmaḥeeṣ.place of escape٤٨
41:49لَّاLaa-(Does) notيَسۡـَٔمُyasʹamulget tiredٱلۡإِنسَٰنُʹiñsaanumanمِنmiñofدُعَآءِduʻaaaʹilprayingٱلۡخَيۡرِkhayri(for) the goodوَإِنwa-ʹimbut ifمَّسَّهُmassatouches himٱلشَّرُّhushsharruthe evilفَيَـُٔوسٞfayaʹoosuñthen he gives up hopeقَنُوطٞq̣anooṭ.(and) despairs٤٩
41:50وَلَئِنۡWa-laʹinAnd verily ifأَذَقۡنَٰهُʹaẓaq̣naahuWe let him tasteرَحۡمَةٗRaḥmatammercyمِّنَّاminnaafrom Usمِنۢmimafterبَعۡدِbaʻdiafterضَرَّآءَḍar-raaaʹaan adversityمَسَّتۡهُmassathu(has) touched himلَيَقُولَنَّlayaq̣oolannahe will surely sayهَٰذَاhaaẓaaThis (is)لِيlee(due) to meوَمَآwa-maaaand notأَظُنُّʹaz̤̣unnusI thinkٱلسَّاعَةَSaaʻatathe Hourقَآئِمَةٗq̣aaaʹimatañw(will be) establishedوَلَئِنwalaʹirand ifرُّجِعۡتُrujiʻtuI am returnedإِلَىٰʹilaatoرَبِّيٓRabbeeemy Lordإِنَّʹinnaindeedلِيleefor meعِندَهُۥʻiñdahoowith Himلَلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚlalḥusnaa!(will be) the bestفَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّFalanunabbiʹannalBut We will surely informٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelievedبِمَاbimaaabout whatعَمِلُواْʻamiloo,they didوَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمwa-lanuẓeeq̣an-nahumand We will surely make them tasteمِّنۡminofعَذَابٍʻAẓaabina punishmentغَلِيظٖg̣aleez̤̣.severe٥٠
