تِلۡكَ
Tilka
These
ءَايَٰتُ
ʹAayaatul
(are the) Verses
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabil
(of) the Book
ٱلۡمُبِينِ
mubeen.
the clear

28:3
نَتۡلُواْ
Natloo
We recite
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
to you
مِن
min
from
نَّبَإِ
nabaʹi
(the) news
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
(of) Musa
وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ
wa-Firʻawna
and Firaun
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
bil-Ḥaq̣q̣i
in truth
لِقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon.
who believe
٣
28:4
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
firʻawna
Firaun
عَلَا
ʻalaa
exalted himself
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
وَجَعَلَ
wa-jaʻala
and made
أَهۡلَهَا
ʹahlahaa
its people
شِيَعٗا
shiyaʻañy
(into) sects
يَسۡتَضۡعِفُ
yastaḍʻifu
oppressing
طَآئِفَةٗ
ṭaaaʹifatam
a group
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
among them
يُذَبِّحُ
yuẓabbiḥu
slaughtering
أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ
ʹabnaaaʹahum
their sons
وَيَسۡتَحۡيِۦ
wa-yastaḥyee
and letting live
نِسَآءَهُمۡۚ
nisaaaʹahum:
their women
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed he
كَانَ
kaana
was
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
mufsideen.
the corrupters
٤
28:5
وَنُرِيدُ
Wa-nureedu
And We wanted
أَن
ʹan
to
نَّمُنَّ
namunna
bestow a favor
عَلَى
ʻalal
upon
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenas
those who
ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ
tuḍʻifoo
were oppressed
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡ
wa-najʻalahum
and make them
أَئِمَّةٗ
ʹaʹimmatañw
leaders
وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُ
Wanajʻalahumul
and make them
ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ
waaris̤een,
the inheritors

وَنُمَكِّنَ
Wa-numakkina
And [We] establish
لَهُمۡ
lahum
them
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
وَنُرِيَ
wa-nuriya
and show
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
Firaun
وَهَٰمَٰنَ
wa-Haamaana
and Haman
وَجُنُودَهُمَا
wa-junoodahumaa
and their hosts
مِنۡهُم
minhum
through them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they were
يَحۡذَرُونَ
yaḥẓaroon.
fearing
٦
28:7
وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ
Wa-ʹawḥaynaaa
And We inspired
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
[to]
أُمِّ
ʹummi
(the) mother
مُوسَىٰٓ
Moosaaa
(of) Musa
أَنۡ
ʹan
that
أَرۡضِعِيهِۖ
ʹarḍiʻeeh:
Suckle him
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
but when
خِفۡتِ
khifti
you fear
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
for him
فَأَلۡقِيهِ
faʹalq̣eehi
then cast him
فِي
fil
in(to)
ٱلۡيَمِّ
yammi
the river
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَخَافِي
takhaafee
fear
وَلَا
walaa
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنِيٓۖ
taḥzanee:
grieve
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed We
رَآدُّوهُ
raaaddoohu
(will) restore him
إِلَيۡكِ
ʹilayki
to you
وَجَاعِلُوهُ
wa-jaaʻiloohu
and (will) make him
مِنَ
milnal
of
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
mursaleen.
the Messengers
٧
28:8
فَٱلۡتَقَطَهُۥٓ
Faltaq̣aṭahooo
Then picked him up
ءَالُ
ʹaalu
(the) family
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
لِيَكُونَ
liyakoona
so that he might become
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
عَدُوّٗا
ʻaduwwañw
an enemy
وَحَزَنًاۗ
Waḥazanaa:
and a grief
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
Firaun
وَهَٰمَٰنَ
wa-Haamaana
and Haman
وَجُنُودَهُمَا
wa-junooda-humaa
and their hosts
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
were
خَٰطِـِٔينَ
khaaṭiʹeen.
sinners
٨
28:9
وَقَالَتِ
Wa-q̣aalatim
And said
ٱمۡرَأَتُ
raʹatu
(the) wife
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
قُرَّتُ
q̣urratu
A comfort
عَيۡنٖ
ʻaynil
(of the) eye
لِّي
lee
for me
وَلَكَۖ
wa-lak:
and for you
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَقۡتُلُوهُ
taq̣tuloohu
kill him
عَسَىٰٓ
ʻasaaa
perhaps
أَن
ʹañy
(that)
يَنفَعَنَآ
yañfaʻanaaa
he may benefit us
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
نَتَّخِذَهُۥ
nattakhiẓahoo
we may take him
وَلَدٗا
waladañw
(as) a son
وَهُمۡ
wahum
And they
لَا
laa-
(did) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroon!
perceive
٩
28:10
وَأَصۡبَحَ
Wa-ʹaṣbaḥa
And became
فُؤَادُ
fuʹaadu
(the) heart
أُمِّ
ʹummi
(of the) mother
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
(of) Musa
فَٰرِغًاۖ
faarig̣aa:
empty
إِن
ʹiñ
That
كَادَتۡ
kaadat
she was near
لَتُبۡدِي
latubdee
(to) disclosing
بِهِۦ
bihee
about him
لَوۡلَآ
law
if not
أَن
laaa
that
رَّبَطۡنَا
ʹarrabaṭnaa
We strengthened
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
[over]
قَلۡبِهَا
q̣albihaa
her heart
لِتَكُونَ
litakoona
so that she would be
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen.
the believers
١٠
28:11
وَقَالَتۡ
Wa-q̣aalat
And she said
لِأُخۡتِهِۦ
liʹukhtihee
to his sister
قُصِّيهِۖ
q̣uṣṣeeh.
Follow him
فَبَصُرَتۡ
Fabaṣurat
So she watched
بِهِۦ
bihee
him
عَن
ʻañ
from
جُنُبٖ
junubiñw
a distance
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
لَا
laa-
(did) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroon.
perceive
١١
28:12
۞وَحَرَّمۡنَا
wa-ḥarramnaa
And We had forbidden
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhil
for him
ٱلۡمَرَاضِعَ
maraaḍiʻa
the wet nurses
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
فَقَالَتۡ
faq̣aalat
so she said
هَلۡ
hal
Shall I
أَدُلُّكُمۡ
ʹadullukum
direct you
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
to
أَهۡلِ
ʹahli
(the) people
بَيۡتٖ
baytiñy
(of) a house
يَكۡفُلُونَهُۥ
yakfuloonahoo
who will rear him
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
نَٰصِحُونَ
naaṣiḥoon?...
(will be) sincere
١٢
28:13
فَرَدَدۡنَٰهُ
Faradadnaahu
So We restored him
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أُمِّهِۦ
ʹummihee
his mother
كَيۡ
kay
that
تَقَرَّ
taq̣arra
might be comforted
عَيۡنُهَا
ʻaynuhaa
her eye
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تَحۡزَنَ
taḥzana
she may grieve
وَلِتَعۡلَمَ
wa-litaʻlama
and that she would know
أَنَّ
ʹanna
that
وَعۡدَ
waʻdal
the Promise of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
the Promise of Allah
حَقّٞ
ḥaq̣q̣uñw
(is) true
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walaakinna
But
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
ʹaks̤arahum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know

28:14
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
بَلَغَ
balag̣a
he reached
أَشُدَّهُۥ
ʹashuddahoo
his full strength
وَٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ
wastawaaa
and became mature
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ
ʹaataynaahu
We bestowed upon him
حُكۡمٗا
ḥukmañw
wisdom
وَعِلۡمٗاۚ
waʻilmaa:
and knowledge
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wa-kaẓaalika
And thus
نَجۡزِي
najzil
We reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen.
the good-doers
١٤
28:15
وَدَخَلَ
Wa-dakhalal
And he entered
ٱلۡمَدِينَةَ
Madeenata
the city
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
at
حِينِ
ḥeeni
a time
غَفۡلَةٖ
g̣aflatim
(of) inattention
مِّنۡ
min
of
أَهۡلِهَا
ʹahlihaa
its people
فَوَجَدَ
fawajada
and found
فِيهَا
feeha
therein
رَجُلَيۡنِ
rajulayni
two men
يَقۡتَتِلَانِ
yaq̣tatilaani
fighting each other
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
this
مِن
miñ
of
شِيعَتِهِۦ
sheeʻatihee
his party
وَهَٰذَا
wa-haaẓaa
and this
مِنۡ
min
of
عَدُوِّهِۦۖ
ʻaduwwih.
his enemy
فَٱسۡتَغَٰثَهُ
Fastag̣aas̤ahul
And called him for help
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the one who
مِن
miñ
(was) from
شِيعَتِهِۦ
sheeʻatihee
his party
عَلَى
ʻalal
against
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the one who
مِنۡ
min
(was) from
عَدُوِّهِۦ
ʻaduwwihee
his enemy
فَوَكَزَهُۥ
fawakazahoo
so Musa struck him with his fist
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
so Musa struck him with his fist
فَقَضَىٰ
faq̣aḍaa
and killed him
عَلَيۡهِۖ
ʻalayh.
and killed him
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
This (is)
مِنۡ
min
of
عَمَلِ
ʻamalish
(the) deed
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ
shayṭaan:
(of) Shaitaan
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed he
عَدُوّٞ
ʻaduwwum
(is) an enemy
مُّضِلّٞ
muḍillum
one who misleads
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen!
clearly
١٥
28:16
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I
ظَلَمۡتُ
z̤̣alamtu
[I] have wronged
نَفۡسِي
nafsee
my soul
فَٱغۡفِرۡ
fag̣fir
so forgive
لِي
lee
[for] me
فَغَفَرَ
fag̣afara
Then He forgave
لَهُۥٓۚ
lah:
[for] him
إِنَّهُۥ
innahoo
Indeed He
هُوَ
Huwal
He (is)
ٱلۡغَفُورُ
G̣afoorur
the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Raḥeem.
the Most Merciful
١٦
28:17
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
بِمَآ
bimaaa
Because
أَنۡعَمۡتَ
ʹanʻamta
You have favored
عَلَيَّ
ʻalayya
[on] me
فَلَنۡ
falan
so not
أَكُونَ
ʹakoona
I will be
ظَهِيرٗا
z̤̣aheeral
a supporter
لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
lilmujrimeen.
(of) the criminals
١٧
28:18
فَأَصۡبَحَ
Faʹaṣbaḥa
In the morning he was
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ
Madeenati
the city
خَآئِفٗا
khaaaʹifañy
fearful
يَتَرَقَّبُ
yataraq̣q̣abu
(and) was vigilant
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓal
when behold
ٱلَّذِي
laẓis
The one who
ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُۥ
tañṣarahoo
sought his help
بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ
bil-ʹamsi
the previous day
يَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُۥۚ
yastaṣrikhuh.
cried out to him for help
قَالَ
Q̣aala
Said
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
مُوسَىٰٓ
Moosaaa
Musa
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnaka
Indeed you
لَغَوِيّٞ
lag̣awiyyum
(are) surely a deviator
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen!

١٨
28:19
فَلَمَّآ
Falammaaa
Then when
أَنۡ
ʹan
[that]
أَرَادَ
ʹaraada
he wanted
أَن
ʹañy
to
يَبۡطِشَ
yabṭisha
strike
بِٱلَّذِي
billaẓee
the one who
هُوَ
huwa
[he] (was)
عَدُوّٞ
ʻaduwwul
an enemy
لَّهُمَا
lahumaa
to both of them
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
أَتُرِيدُ
ʹatureedu
Do you intend
أَن
ʹañ
to
تَقۡتُلَنِي
taq̣tulanee
kill me
كَمَا
kamaa
as
قَتَلۡتَ
q̣atalta
you killed
نَفۡسَۢا
nafsam
a person
بِٱلۡأَمۡسِۖ
bil-ʹams?
yesterday
إِن
ʹIñ
Not
تُرِيدُ
tureedu
you want
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
but
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَكُونَ
takoona
you become
جَبَّارٗا
jabbaarañ
a tyrant
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
تُرِيدُ
tureedu
you want
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَكُونَ
takoona
you be
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِينَ
Muṣliḥeen!
the reformers
١٩
28:20
وَجَآءَ
Wa-jaaaʹa
And came
رَجُلٞ
rajulum
a man
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَقۡصَا
ʹaq̣ṣal
(the) farthest end
ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ
Madeenati
(of) the city
يَسۡعَىٰ
yasʻaa.
running
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱلۡمَلَأَ
malaʹa
the chiefs
يَأۡتَمِرُونَ
yaʹ-tamiroona
are taking counsel
بِكَ
bika
about you
لِيَقۡتُلُوكَ
liyaq̣tulooka
to kill you
فَٱخۡرُجۡ
fakhruj
so leave
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
indeed I am
لَكَ
laka
to you
مِنَ
minan
of
ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ
naaṣiḥeen.
the sincere advisors
٢٠
28:21
فَخَرَجَ
Fakharaja
So he left
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
from it
خَآئِفٗا
khaaaʹifañy
fearing
يَتَرَقَّبُۖ
yataraq̣q̣ab:
(and) vigilant
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
نَجِّنِي
najjinee
Save me
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmiz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
٢١

28:22
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
تَوَجَّهَ
tawajjaha
he turned his face
تِلۡقَآءَ
tilq̣aaaʹa
towards
مَدۡيَنَ
Madyana
Madyan
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
عَسَىٰ
ʻasaa
Perhaps
رَبِّيٓ
Rabbeee
my Lord
أَن
ʹañy
[that]
يَهۡدِيَنِي
yahdiyanee
will guide me
سَوَآءَ
sawaaaʹas
(to the) sound
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
sabeel.
way
٢٢
28:23
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
وَرَدَ
warada
he came
مَآءَ
maaaʹa
(to the) water
مَدۡيَنَ
Madyana
(of) Madyan
وَجَدَ
wajada
he found
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
on it
أُمَّةٗ
ʹummatam
a group
مِّنَ
minan
of
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
men
يَسۡقُونَ
yasq̣oona
watering
وَوَجَدَ
wa-wajada
and he found
مِن
miñ
besides them
دُونِهِمُ
doonihimum
besides them
ٱمۡرَأَتَيۡنِ
raʹatayni
two women
تَذُودَانِۖ
taẓoodaan.
keeping back
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
مَا
maa-
What
خَطۡبُكُمَاۖ
khaṭbukumaa?
(is the) matter with both of you
قَالَتَا
Q̣aalataa
They said
لَا
laa-
We cannot water
نَسۡقِي
nasq̣ee
We cannot water
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يُصۡدِرَ
yuṣdirar
take away
ٱلرِّعَآءُۖ
riʻaaaʹu
the shepherds
وَأَبُونَا
wa-ʹaboonaa
and our father
شَيۡخٞ
shaykhuñ
(is) a very old man
كَبِيرٞ
kabeer.
(is) a very old man
٢٣
28:24
فَسَقَىٰ
Fasaq̣aa
So he watered
لَهُمَا
lahumaa
for them
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
تَوَلَّىٰٓ
tawallaaa
he turned back
إِلَى
ʹilaz̤̣
to
ٱلظِّلِّ
z̤̣illi
the shade
فَقَالَ
faq̣aala
and said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I am
لِمَآ
limaaa
of whatever
أَنزَلۡتَ
añzalta
You send
إِلَيَّ
ʹilayya
to me
مِنۡ
min
of
خَيۡرٖ
khayriñ
good
فَقِيرٞ
faq̣eer!..
(in) need
٢٤
28:25
فَجَآءَتۡهُ
Fajaaaʹathu
Then came to him
إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا
ʹiḥdaahumaa
one of the two women
تَمۡشِي
tamshee
walking
عَلَى
ʻalas
with
ٱسۡتِحۡيَآءٖ
tiḥyaaaʹ,
shyness
قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
She said
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
أَبِي
ʹabee
my father
يَدۡعُوكَ
yadʻooka
calls you
لِيَجۡزِيَكَ
liyajziyaka
that he may reward you
أَجۡرَ
ʹajra
(the) reward
مَا
maa-
(for) what
سَقَيۡتَ
saq̣ayta
you watered
لَنَاۚ
lanaa.
for us
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
So when
جَآءَهُۥ
jaaaʹahoo
he came to him
وَقَصَّ
wa-q̣aṣṣa
and narrated
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhil
to him
ٱلۡقَصَصَ
q̣aṣaṣa
the story
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَخَفۡۖ
takhaf:
fear
نَجَوۡتَ
najawta
You have escaped
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmiz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
٢٥
28:26
قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
Said
إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا
ʹiḥdaahumaa
one of them
يَٰٓأَبَتِ
yaaaʹabatis
O my father
ٱسۡتَـٔۡجِرۡهُۖ
taʹjirh;
Hire him
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
خَيۡرَ
khayra
(the) best
مَنِ
manis
whom
ٱسۡتَـٔۡجَرۡتَ
taʹjartal
you (can) hire
ٱلۡقَوِيُّ
q̣awiyyul
(is) the strong
ٱلۡأَمِينُ
ʹameen.
the trustworthy
٢٦
28:27
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أُرِيدُ
ʹureedu
[I] wish
أَنۡ
ʹan
to
أُنكِحَكَ
ʹuñkiḥaka
marry you to
إِحۡدَى
ʹiḥdab
one
ٱبۡنَتَيَّ
natayya
(of) my daughters
هَٰتَيۡنِ
haatayni
(of) these two
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
on
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَأۡجُرَنِي
taʹjuranee
you serve me
ثَمَٰنِيَ
s̤amaaniya
(for) eight
حِجَجٖۖ
ḥijaj;
years
فَإِنۡ
faʹin
but if
أَتۡمَمۡتَ
ʹatmamta
you complete
عَشۡرٗا
ʻashrañ
ten
فَمِنۡ
famin
then from
عِندِكَۖ
ʻiñdik.
you
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أُرِيدُ
ʹureedu
I wish
أَنۡ
ʹan
to
أَشُقَّ
ʹashuq̣q̣a
make it difficult
عَلَيۡكَۚ
ʻalayk:
for you
سَتَجِدُنِيٓ
satajiduneee
You will find me
إِن
ʹiñ
if
شَآءَ
shaaaʹal
Allah wills
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah wills
مِنَ
minaṣ
of
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
Ṣaaliḥeen.
the righteous
٢٧
28:28
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
That
بَيۡنِي
baynee
(is) between me
وَبَيۡنَكَۖ
wa-baynak:
and between you
أَيَّمَا
ʹayyamal
Whichever
ٱلۡأَجَلَيۡنِ
ʹajalayni
(of) the two terms
قَضَيۡتُ
q̣aḍaytu
I complete
فَلَا
falaa
then no
عُدۡوَٰنَ
ʻudwaana
injustice
عَلَيَّۖ
ʻalayy.
to me
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
and Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَا

۞فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
Then when
قَضَىٰ
q̣aḍaa
Musa fulfilled
مُوسَى
Moosal
Musa fulfilled
ٱلۡأَجَلَ
ʹajala
the term
وَسَارَ
wa-saara
and was traveling
بِأَهۡلِهِۦٓ
biʹahliheee
with his family
ءَانَسَ
ʹaanasa
he saw
مِن
miñ
in
جَانِبِ
jaanibiṭ
(the) direction
ٱلطُّورِ
Ṭoori
(of) Mount Tur
نَارٗاۖ
naaraa.
a fire
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
لِأَهۡلِهِ
liʹahlihim
to his family
ٱمۡكُثُوٓاْ
kus̤ooo
Stay here
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
indeed I
ءَانَسۡتُ
ʹaanastu
[I] perceive
نَارٗا
naaral
a fire
لَّعَلِّيٓ
laʻalleee
Perhaps
ءَاتِيكُم
ʹaateekum
I will bring you
مِّنۡهَا
minhaa
from there
بِخَبَرٍ
bikhabarin
some information
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
جَذۡوَةٖ
jaẓwatim
a burning wood
مِّنَ
minan
from
ٱلنَّارِ
naari
the fire
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَصۡطَلُونَ
taṣṭaloon.
warm yourselves
٢٩
28:30
فَلَمَّآ
Falammaaa
But when
أَتَىٰهَا
ʹataahaa
he came (to) it
نُودِيَ
noodiya
he was called
مِن
miñ
from
شَٰطِيِٕ
shaaṭiʹil
(the) side
ٱلۡوَادِ
waadil
(of) the valley
ٱلۡأَيۡمَنِ
ʹaymani
the right
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡبُقۡعَةِ
buq̣ʻatil
the place even
ٱلۡمُبَٰرَكَةِ
mubaarakati
blessed
مِنَ
minash
from
ٱلشَّجَرَةِ
shajarati
the tree
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed
أَنَا
ʹAnal
I Am
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
رَبُّ
Rabbul
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
ʻAalameen.
(of) the worlds
٣٠
28:31
وَأَنۡ
Wa-ʹan
And [that]
أَلۡقِ
ʹalq̣i
throw
عَصَاكَۚ
ʻaṣaak!
your staff
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
But when
رَءَاهَا
raʹaahaa
he saw it
تَهۡتَزُّ
tahtazzu
moving
كَأَنَّهَا
kaʹannahaa
as if it
جَآنّٞ
jaaannuñw
(were) a snake
وَلَّىٰ
wallaa
he turned
مُدۡبِرٗا
mudbirañw
(in) flight
وَلَمۡ
walam
and (did) not
يُعَقِّبۡۚ
yuʻaq̣q̣ib:
return
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
Yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
أَقۡبِلۡ
ʹaq̣bil
Draw near
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَخَفۡۖ
takhaf:
fear
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnaka
Indeed you
مِنَ
minal
(are) of
ٱلۡأٓمِنِينَ
ʹaamineen.
the secure
٣١
28:32
ٱسۡلُكۡ
ʹUsluk
Insert
يَدَكَ
yadaka
your hand
فِي
fee
in
جَيۡبِكَ
jaybika
your bosom
تَخۡرُجۡ
takhruj
it will come forth
بَيۡضَآءَ
bayḍaaaʹa
white
مِنۡ
min
without
غَيۡرِ
g̣ayri
without
سُوٓءٖ
soooʹ:
any harm
وَٱضۡمُمۡ
waḍmum
And draw
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to yourselves
جَنَاحَكَ
janaaḥaka
your hand
مِنَ
minar
against
ٱلرَّهۡبِۖ
rahbi
fear
فَذَٰنِكَ
fazaanika
So these
بُرۡهَٰنَانِ
burhaanaani
(are) two evidences
مِن
mir
from
رَّبِّكَ
Rabbika
your Lord
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
Firaun
وَمَلَإِيْهِۦٓۚ
wa-malaʹih:
and his chiefs
إِنَّهُمۡ
ʹinnahum
Indeed they
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
are
قَوۡمٗا
q̣awmañ
a people
فَٰسِقِينَ
faasiq̣een.
defiantly disobedient
٣٢
28:33
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed
قَتَلۡتُ
q̣ataltu
I killed
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
of them
نَفۡسٗا
nafsañ
a man
فَأَخَافُ
faʹakhaafu
and I fear
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَقۡتُلُونِ
yaq̣tuloon.
they will kill me
٣٣
28:34
وَأَخِي
Wa-ʹakhee
And my brother
هَٰرُونُ
Haaroonu
Harun
هُوَ
huwa
he
أَفۡصَحُ
ʹafṣaḥu
(is) more eloquent
مِنِّي
minnee
than me
لِسَانٗا
lisaanañ
(in) speech
فَأَرۡسِلۡهُ
faʹarsilhu
so send him
مَعِيَ
maʻiya
with me
رِدۡءٗا
rid-ʹañy
(as) a helper
يُصَدِّقُنِيٓۖ
yuṣaddiq̣unee;
who will confirm me
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed
أَخَافُ
ʹakhaafu
I fear
أَن
ʹañy
that
يُكَذِّبُونِ
yukaẓẓiboon.
they will deny me
٣٤
28:35
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
سَنَشُدُّ
sanashuddu
We will strengthen
عَضُدَكَ
ʻaḍudaka
your arm
بِأَخِيكَ
biʹakheeka
through your brother
وَنَجۡعَلُ
wa-najʻalu
and We will make
لَكُمَا
lakumaa
for both of you
سُلۡطَٰنٗا
sulṭaanañ
an authority
فَلَا
falaa
so not
يَصِلُونَ
yaṣiloona
they will reach
إِلَيۡكُمَا
ʹilaykumaa:
to both of you
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۚ
biʹAayaatinaaa
Through Our Signs
أَنتُمَا
ʹañtumaa
you two
وَمَنِ
wa-manit
and (those) who
ٱتَّبَعَكُمَا
tabaʻakumal
follow you
ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ
g̣aaliboon.
(will) be the dominant

فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
But when
جَآءَهُم
jaaaʹahum
came to them
مُّوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biʹAayaatinaa
with Our Signs
بَيِّنَٰتٖ
bayyinaatiñ
clear
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
مَا
maa-
Not
هَٰذَآ
haaẓaaa
(is) this
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
سِحۡرٞ
siḥrum
a magic
مُّفۡتَرٗى
muftarañw
invented
وَمَا
wamaa
and not
سَمِعۡنَا
samiʻnaa
we heard
بِهَٰذَا
bihaaẓaa
of this
فِيٓ
feee
among
ءَابَآئِنَا
ʹaabaaaʹinal
our forefathers
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
ʹawwaleen!
our forefathers
٣٦
28:37
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aala
And Musa said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
And Musa said
رَبِّيٓ
Rabbeee
My Lord
أَعۡلَمُ
ʹaʻlamu
knows best
بِمَن
bimañ
of who
جَآءَ
jaaaʹa
has come
بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ
bil-Hudaa
with [the] guidance
مِنۡ
min
from Him
عِندِهِۦ
ʻiñdihee
from Him
وَمَن
wa-mañ
and who
تَكُونُ
takoonu
will be
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
عَٰقِبَةُ
ʻAaq̣ibatud
the good end in the Hereafter
ٱلدَّارِۚ
daar:
the good end in the Hereafter
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed
لَا
laa-
not
يُفۡلِحُ
yufliḥuz̤̣
will be successful
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoon.
the wrongdoers
٣٧
28:38
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aala
And Firaun said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firʻawnu
And Firaun said
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaaaʹayyuhal
O chiefs
ٱلۡمَلَأُ
malaʹu
O chiefs
مَا
maa-
Not
عَلِمۡتُ
ʻalimtu
I know
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنۡ
min
any
إِلَٰهٍ
ʹilaahin
god
غَيۡرِي
g̣ayree:
other than me
فَأَوۡقِدۡ
faʹawq̣id
So kindle
لِي
lee
for me
يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ
yaa-Haamaanu
O Haman
عَلَى
ʻalaṭ
Upon
ٱلطِّينِ
ṭeeni
the clay
فَٱجۡعَل
fajʻal
and make
لِّي
lee
for me
صَرۡحٗا
ṣarḥal
a lofty tower
لَّعَلِّيٓ
laʻalleee
so that [I]
أَطَّلِعُ
ʹaṭṭaliʻu
I may look
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
at
إِلَٰهِ
ʹilaahi
(the) God
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
(of) Musa
وَإِنِّي
wa-ʹinnee
And indeed I
لَأَظُنُّهُۥ
laʹaz̤̣unnuhoo
[I] think that he
مِنَ
minal
(is) of
ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
kaaẓibeen!
the liars
٣٨
28:39
وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ
Wastakbara
And he was arrogant
هُوَ
huwa
And he was arrogant
وَجُنُودُهُۥ
wa-junooduhoo
and his hosts
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
بِغَيۡرِ
big̣ayril
without
ٱلۡحَقِّ
ḥaq̣q̣i
right
وَظَنُّوٓاْ
waz̤̣annooo
and they thought
أَنَّهُمۡ
ʹannahum
that they
إِلَيۡنَا
ʹilaynaa
to Us
لَا
laa-
not
يُرۡجَعُونَ
yurjaʻoon!
will be returned
٣٩
28:40
فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُ
Faʹakhaẓnaahu
So We seized him
وَجُنُودَهُۥ
wa-junoo-dahoo
and his hosts
فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُمۡ
fanabaẓnaahum
and We threw them
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡيَمِّۖ
yamm:
the sea
فَٱنظُرۡ
fañz̤̣ur
So see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kaana
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
ʻAaq̣ibatuz̤̣
(the) end
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen!
(of) the wrongdoers
٤٠
28:41
وَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ
Wa-jaʻalnaahum
And We made them
أَئِمَّةٗ
ʹaʹimmatañy
leaders
يَدۡعُونَ
yadʻoona
inviting
إِلَى
ʹilan
to
ٱلنَّارِۖ
Naar;
the Fire
وَيَوۡمَ
Wa-Yawmal
and (on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
لَا
laa-
not
يُنصَرُونَ
yuñṣaroon.
they will be helped
٤١
28:42
وَأَتۡبَعۡنَٰهُمۡ
Wa-ʹatbaʻnaahum
And We caused to follow them
فِي
fee
in
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihid
this
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
world
لَعۡنَةٗۖ
Laʻnah;
a curse
وَيَوۡمَ
wa-Yawmal
and (on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
هُم
hum
they
مِّنَ
minal
(will be) of
ٱلۡمَقۡبُوحِينَ
maq̣booḥeen.
the despised
٤٢
28:43
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And verily
ءَاتَيۡنَا
ʹaataynaa
We gave
مُوسَى
Moosal
Musa
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Scripture
مِنۢ
mim
after [what]
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after [what]
مَآ
maaa
after [what]
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
ʹahlaknal
We had destroyed
ٱلۡقُرُونَ
q̣uroonal
the generations
ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
ʹoolaa
former
بَصَآئِرَ
Baṣaaaʹira
(as) an enlightenment
لِلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
for the mankind
وَهُدٗى
wa-Hudañw
and a guidance
وَرَحۡمَةٗ
wa-Raḥmatal
and mercy
لَّعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
that they may
يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
yataẓakkaroon.
remember
٤٣

وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كُنتَ
kuñta
you were
بِجَانِبِ
bijaanibil
on (the) side
ٱلۡغَرۡبِيِّ
G̣arbiyyi
western
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
قَضَيۡنَآ
q̣aḍaynaaa
We decreed
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
مُوسَى
Moosal
Musa
ٱلۡأَمۡرَ
ʹAmra
the Commandment
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
كُنتَ
kuñta
you were
مِنَ
minash
among
ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
shaahideen.
the witnesses
٤٤
28:45
وَلَٰكِنَّآ
Wa-laakinnaaa
But We
أَنشَأۡنَا
ʹañshaʹnaa
[We] produced
قُرُونٗا
q̣uroonañ
generations
فَتَطَاوَلَ
fataṭaawala
and prolonged
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimul
for them
ٱلۡعُمُرُۚ
ʻumur;
the life
وَمَا
wa-maa
And not
كُنتَ
kuñta
you were
ثَاوِيٗا
s̤aawiyañ
a dweller
فِيٓ
feee
among
أَهۡلِ
ʹahli
(the) people
مَدۡيَنَ
Madyana
(of) Madyan
تَتۡلُواْ
tatloo
reciting
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
to them
ءَايَٰتِنَا
ʹAayaatinaa
Our Verses
وَلَٰكِنَّا
wa-laakinnaa
but We
كُنَّا
kunnaa
[We] were
مُرۡسِلِينَ
mursileen.
the Senders
٤٥
28:46
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كُنتَ
kuñta
you were
بِجَانِبِ
bijaanibiṭ
at (the) side
ٱلطُّورِ
Ṭoori
(of) the Tur
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
نَادَيۡنَا
naadaynaa
We called
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakir
But
رَّحۡمَةٗ
Raḥmatam
(as) a mercy
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّكَ
Rabbika
your Lord
لِتُنذِرَ
lituñẓira
so that you warn
قَوۡمٗا
q̣awmam
a people
مَّآ
maaa
not
أَتَىٰهُم
ʹataahum
(had) come to them
مِّن
min
any
نَّذِيرٖ
naẓeerim
warner
مِّن
miñ
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
q̣ablika
before you
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
yataẓakkaroon.
remember
٤٦
28:47
وَلَوۡلَآ
Wa-lawlaaa
And if not
أَن
ʹañ
[that]
تُصِيبَهُم
tuṣeebahum
struck them
مُّصِيبَةُۢ
muṣeebatum
a disaster
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
قَدَّمَتۡ
q̣addamat
had sent forth
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
ʹaydeehim
their hands
فَيَقُولُواْ
fayaq̣ooloo
and they would say
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
Our Lord
لَوۡلَآ
Law-laaa
Why not
أَرۡسَلۡتَ
ʹarsalta
You sent
إِلَيۡنَا
ʹilaynaa
to us
رَسُولٗا
rasoolañ
a Messenger
فَنَتَّبِعَ
fanattabiʻa
so we (could have) followed
ءَايَٰتِكَ
ʹAayaatika
Your Verses
وَنَكُونَ
wa-nakoona
and we (would) have been
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen!
the believers
٤٧
28:48
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
But when
جَآءَهُمُ
jaaaʹahumul
came to them
ٱلۡحَقُّ
Ḥaq̣q̣u
the truth
مِنۡ
min
from Us
عِندِنَا
ʻiñdinaa
from Us
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
لَوۡلَآ
law-laaa
Why not
أُوتِيَ
ʹootiya
he was given
مِثۡلَ
mis̤la
(the) like
مَآ
maaa
(of) what
أُوتِيَ
ʹootiya
was given
مُوسَىٰٓۚ
Moosaa?
(to) Musa
أَوَلَمۡ
ʹAwalam
Did not
يَكۡفُرُواْ
yakfuroo
they disbelieve
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
أُوتِيَ
ʹootiya
was given
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
(to) Musa
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُۖ
q̣abl?
before
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
سِحۡرَانِ
siḥraani
Two magic (works)
تَظَٰهَرَا
taz̤̣aaharaa!
supporting each other
وَقَالُوٓاْ
Wa-q̣aalooo
And they said
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
بِكُلّٖ
bikulliñ
in all
كَٰفِرُونَ
kaafiroon!
(are) disbelievers
٤٨
28:49
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
فَأۡتُواْ
faʹtoo
Then bring
بِكِتَٰبٖ
bi-Kitaabim
a Book
مِّنۡ
min
from Allah
عِندِ
ʻiñdil
from Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
from Allah
هُوَ
huwa
which
أَهۡدَىٰ
ʹahdaa
(is) a better guide
مِنۡهُمَآ
minhumaaa
than both of them
أَتَّبِعۡهُ
ʹattabiʻhu
that I may follow it
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
ṣaadiq̣een!
truthful
٤٩
28:50
فَإِن
Faʹil
But if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
يَسۡتَجِيبُواْ
yastajeeboo
they respond
لَكَ
laka
to you
فَٱعۡلَمۡ
faʻlam
then know
أَنَّمَا
ʹannamaa
that only
يَتَّبِعُونَ
yattabiʻoona
they follow
أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ
ʹahwaaaʹahum:
their desires
وَمَنۡ
wa-man
And who
أَضَلُّ
ʹaḍallu
(is) more astray
مِمَّنِ
mimmanit
than (one) who
ٱتَّبَعَ
tabaʻa
follows
هَوَىٰهُ
hawaahu
his own desire
بِغَيۡرِ
big̣ayri
without
هُدٗى
hudam
guidance
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah?
Allah
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdil
guide
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awmaz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
٥٠
