(A) mention
رَحۡمَتِ
Raḥmati
(of the) Mercy
رَبِّكَ
Rabbika
(of) your Lord
عَبۡدَهُۥ
ʻabdahoo
(to) His servant
زَكَرِيَّآ
Zakariyyaa.
Zakariya

19:3
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
نَادَىٰ
naadaa
he called
رَبَّهُۥ
Rabbahoo
(to) his Lord
نِدَآءً
nidaaaʹan
a call
خَفِيّٗا
khafiyyaa.
secret
٣
19:4
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed [I]
وَهَنَ
wahanal
(have) weakened
ٱلۡعَظۡمُ
ʻaz̤̣mu
my bones
مِنِّي
minnee
my bones
وَٱشۡتَعَلَ
washtaʻalar
and flared
ٱلرَّأۡسُ
raʹsu
(my) head
شَيۡبٗا
shaybañw
(with) white
وَلَمۡ
walam
and not
أَكُنۢ
ʹakum
I have been
بِدُعَآئِكَ
biduʻaaaʹika
in (my) supplication (to) You
رَبِّ
Rabbi
my Lord
شَقِيّٗا
shaq̣iyyaa!
unblessed
٤
19:5
وَإِنِّي
Wa-ʹinnee
And indeed I
خِفۡتُ
khiftul
[I] fear
ٱلۡمَوَٰلِيَ
mawaaliya
the successors
مِن
miñw
after me
وَرَآءِي
waraaaʹee
after me
وَكَانَتِ
wa-kaanat
and is
ٱمۡرَأَتِي
imraʹatee
my wife
عَاقِرٗا
ʻaaq̣irañ
barren
فَهَبۡ
fahab
So give
لِي
lee
[to] me
مِن
mil
from
لَّدُنكَ
laduñka
Yourself
وَلِيّٗا
waliyyaa,―
an heir
٥
19:6
يَرِثُنِي
Yaris̤unee
Who will inherit me
وَيَرِثُ
wa-yaris̤u
and inherit
مِنۡ
min
from
ءَالِ
ʹaali
(the) family
يَعۡقُوبَۖ
Yaʻq̣ooba
(of) Yaqub
وَٱجۡعَلۡهُ
wajʻalhu
And make him
رَبِّ
Rabbi
my Lord
رَضِيّٗا
raḍiyyaa!
pleasing
٦
19:7
يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ
Yaa-Zakariyyaaa
O Zakariya
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed We
نُبَشِّرُكَ
nubashshiruka
[We] give you glad tidings
بِغُلَٰمٍ
big̣ulaamin
of a boy
ٱسۡمُهُۥ
ismuhoo
his name
يَحۡيَىٰ
Yaḥyaa
(will be) Yahya
لَمۡ
lam
not
نَجۡعَل
najʻal
We (have) assigned
لَّهُۥ
lahoo
[for] it
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
سَمِيّٗا
samiyyaa.
(this) name
٧
19:8
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
أَنَّىٰ
ʹannaa
How
يَكُونُ
yakoonu
can
لِي
lee
I have
غُلَٰمٞ
g̣ulaamuñw
a boy
وَكَانَتِ
wakaanatim
while is
ٱمۡرَأَتِي
raʹatee
my wife
عَاقِرٗا
ʻaaq̣irañw
barren
وَقَدۡ
Waq̣ad
and indeed
بَلَغۡتُ
balag̣tu
I have reached
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡكِبَرِ
kibari
the old age
عِتِيّٗا
ʻitiyyaa?
extreme
٨
19:9
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
كَذَٰلِكَ
kaẓaalik:
Thus
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
رَبُّكَ
Rabbuka
your Lord
هُوَ
huwa
It
عَلَيَّ
ʻalayya
(is) easy for Me
هَيِّنٞ
hayyinuñw
(is) easy for Me
وَقَدۡ
waq̣ad
and certainly
خَلَقۡتُكَ
khalaq̣tuka
I (have) created you
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
while not
تَكُ
taku
you were
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹaa!
anything
٩
19:10
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbij
My Lord
ٱجۡعَل
ʻal
Make
لِّيٓ
leee
for me
ءَايَةٗۖ
ʹAayah.
a sign
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
ءَايَتُكَ
ʹAayatuka
Your sign
أَلَّا
ʹallaa
(is) that not
تُكَلِّمَ
tukalliman
you will speak
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
(to) the people
ثَلَٰثَ
s̤alaas̤a
(for) three
لَيَالٖ
layaaliñ
nights
سَوِيّٗا
sawiyyaa.
sound
١٠
19:11
فَخَرَجَ
Fakharaja
Then he came out
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
to
قَوۡمِهِۦ
q̣awmihee
his people
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡمِحۡرَابِ
miḥraabi
the prayer chamber
فَأَوۡحَىٰٓ
faʹawḥaaa
and he signaled
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
to them
أَن
ʹañ
to
سَبِّحُواْ
sabbiḥoo
glorify (Allah)
بُكۡرَةٗ
bukratañw
(in) the morning
وَعَشِيّٗا
waʻashiyyaa.
and (in) the evening

19:12
يَٰيَحۡيَىٰ
Yaa-Yaḥyaa
O Yahya
خُذِ
khuẓil
Hold
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Scripture
بِقُوَّةٖۖ
biq̣uwwah:
with strength
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ
wa-ʹaataynaahul
And We gave him
ٱلۡحُكۡمَ
Ḥukma
[the] wisdom
صَبِيّٗا
ṣabiyyaa.
(when he was) a child
١٢
19:13
وَحَنَانٗا
Waḥanaanam
And affection
مِّن
mil
from
لَّدُنَّا
ladunnaa
Us
وَزَكَوٰةٗۖ
wazakaah:
and purity
وَكَانَ
wa-kaana
and he was
تَقِيّٗا
taq̣iyyaa,
righteous
١٣
19:14
وَبَرَّۢا
Wa-barram
And dutiful
بِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ
biwaalidayhi
to his parents
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
and not
يَكُن
yakuñ
he was
جَبَّارًا
jabbaaran
a tyrant
عَصِيّٗا
ʻaṣiyyaa.
disobedient
١٤
19:15
وَسَلَٰمٌ
Wa-Salaamun
And peace be
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
upon him
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(the) day
وُلِدَ
wulida
he was born
وَيَوۡمَ
wa-yawma
and (the) day
يَمُوتُ
yamootu
he dies
وَيَوۡمَ
wa-yawma
and (the) day
يُبۡعَثُ
yubʻas̤u
he will be raised
حَيّٗا
ḥayyaa!
alive
١٥
19:16
وَٱذۡكُرۡ
Waẓkur
And mention
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Book
مَرۡيَمَ
Maryam.
Maryam
إِذِ
ʹIẓiñ
when
ٱنتَبَذَتۡ
tabaẓat
she withdrew
مِنۡ
min
from
أَهۡلِهَا
ʹahlihaa
her family
مَكَانٗا
makaanañ
(to) a place
شَرۡقِيّٗا
sharq̣iyyaa.
eastern
١٦
19:17
فَٱتَّخَذَتۡ
Fattakhaẓat
Then she took
مِن
miñ
from them
دُونِهِمۡ
doonihim
from them
حِجَابٗا
ḥijaabaa.
a screen
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَآ
Faʹarsalnaaa
Then We sent
إِلَيۡهَا
ʹilayhaa
to her
رُوحَنَا
rooḥanaa
Our Spirit
فَتَمَثَّلَ
fatamas̤s̤ala
then he assumed for her the likeness
لَهَا
lahaa
then he assumed for her the likeness
بَشَرٗا
basharañ
(of) a man
سَوِيّٗا
sawiyyaa.
well-proportioned
١٧
19:18
قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
She said
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَعُوذُ
ʹaʻooẓu
[I] seek refuge
بِٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ
bir-Raḥmaani
with the Most Gracious
مِنكَ
miñka
from you
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتَ
kuñta
you are
تَقِيّٗا
taq̣iyyaa.
God fearing
١٨
19:19
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنَّمَآ
ʹinnamaaa
Only
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I am
رَسُولُ
rasoolu
a Messenger
رَبِّكِ
Rabbiki
(from) your Lord
لِأَهَبَ
liʹahaba
that I (may) bestow
لَكِ
laki
on you
غُلَٰمٗا
g̣ulaamañ
a son
زَكِيّٗا
zakiyyaa.
pure
١٩
19:20
قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
She said
أَنَّىٰ
ʹannaa
How
يَكُونُ
yakoonu
can be
لِي
lee
for me
غُلَٰمٞ
g̣ulaamuñw
a son
وَلَمۡ
walam
when not
يَمۡسَسۡنِي
yamsasnee
has touched me
بَشَرٞ
basharuñw
a man
وَلَمۡ
walam
and not
أَكُ
ʹaku
I am
بَغِيّٗا
bag̣iyyaa?
unchaste
٢٠
19:21
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
كَذَٰلِكِ
kaẓaalik:
Thus
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
رَبُّكِ
Rabbuki
your Lord
هُوَ
huwa
It
عَلَيَّ
ʻalayya
(is) for Me
هَيِّنٞۖ
hay-yin:
easy
وَلِنَجۡعَلَهُۥٓ
wa-linajʻalahooo
and so that We will make him
ءَايَةٗ
ʹAayatal
a sign
لِّلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
for the mankind
وَرَحۡمَةٗ
wa-Raḥmatam
and a Mercy
مِّنَّاۚ
minnaa:
from Us
وَكَانَ
wa-kaana
And (it) is
أَمۡرٗا
ʹamram
a matter
مَّقۡضِيّٗا
maq̣ḍiyyaa.
decreed
٢١
19:22
۞فَحَمَلَتۡهُ
Faḥamalathu
So she conceived him
فَٱنتَبَذَتۡ
fañtabaẓat
and she withdrew
بِهِۦ
bihee
with him
مَكَانٗا
makaanañ
(to) a place
قَصِيّٗا
q̣aṣiyyaa.
remote

19:23
فَأَجَآءَهَا
Faʹajaaaʹahal
Then drove her
ٱلۡمَخَاضُ
makhaaḍu
the pains of childbirth
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
جِذۡعِ
jiẓʻin
(the) trunk
ٱلنَّخۡلَةِ
nakhlah;
(of) the date-palm
قَالَتۡ
q̣aalat
She said
يَٰلَيۡتَنِي
yaa-laytanee
O! I wish
مِتُّ
mittu
I (had) died
قَبۡلَ
q̣abla
before
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
this
وَكُنتُ
wa-kuñtu
and I was
نَسۡيٗا
nasyam
(in) oblivion
مَّنسِيّٗا
mañsiyyaa!
forgotten
٢٣
19:24
فَنَادَىٰهَا
Fanaadaahaa
So cried to her
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهَآ
taḥtihaaa
beneath her
أَلَّا
ʹallaa
That (do) not
تَحۡزَنِي
taḥzanee
grieve
قَدۡ
q̣ad
verily
جَعَلَ
jaʻala
(has) placed
رَبُّكِ
Rabbuki
your Lord
تَحۡتَكِ
taḥtaki
beneath you
سَرِيّٗا
sariyyaa;
a stream
٢٤
19:25
وَهُزِّيٓ
Wa-huzzeee
And shake
إِلَيۡكِ
ʹilayki
towards you
بِجِذۡعِ
bijiẓʻin
(the) trunk
ٱلنَّخۡلَةِ
nakhlati
(of) the date-palm
تُسَٰقِطۡ
tusaaq̣iṭ
it will drop
عَلَيۡكِ
ʻalayki
upon you
رُطَبٗا
ruṭabañ
fresh dates
جَنِيّٗا
janiyyaa.
ripe

19:26
فَكُلِي
Fakulee
So eat
وَٱشۡرَبِي
washrabee
and drink
وَقَرِّي
wa-q̣arree
and cool
عَيۡنٗاۖ
ʻaynaa.
(your) eyes
فَإِمَّا
Faʹimmaa
And if
تَرَيِنَّ
tarayinna
you see
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡبَشَرِ
bashari
human being
أَحَدٗا
ʹaḥadañ
anyone
فَقُولِيٓ
faq̣ooleee
then say
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I
نَذَرۡتُ
naẓartu
[I] have vowed
لِلرَّحۡمَٰنِ
lir-Raḥmaani
to the Most Gracious
صَوۡمٗا
ṣawmañ
a fast
فَلَنۡ
falan
so not
أُكَلِّمَ
ʹukallimal
I will speak
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
yawma
today
إِنسِيّٗا
ʹiñsiyyaa.
(to any) human being
٢٦
19:27
فَأَتَتۡ
Faʹatat
Then she came
بِهِۦ
bihee
with him
قَوۡمَهَا
q̣awmaahaa
(to) her people
تَحۡمِلُهُۥۖ
taḥmiluh.
carrying him
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
يَٰمَرۡيَمُ
yaa-Maryamu
O Maryam
لَقَدۡ
laq̣ad
Certainly
جِئۡتِ
jiʹti
you (have) brought
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañ
an amazing thing
فَرِيّٗا
fariyyaa.
an amazing thing
٢٧
19:28
يَٰٓأُخۡتَ
Yaaaʹukhta
O sister
هَٰرُونَ
Haaroona
(of) Harun
مَا
maa-
Not
كَانَ
kaana
was
أَبُوكِ
ʹabookim
your father
ٱمۡرَأَ
raʹa
an evil man
سَوۡءٖ
sawʹiñw
an evil man
وَمَا
wamaa
and not
كَانَتۡ
kaanat
was
أُمُّكِ
ʹummuki
your mother
بَغِيّٗا
bag̣iyyaa!
unchaste
٢٨
19:29
فَأَشَارَتۡ
Faʹashaarat
Then she pointed
إِلَيۡهِۖ
ʹilayh.
to him
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
How
نُكَلِّمُ
nukallimu
(can) we speak
مَن
mañ
(to one) who
كَانَ
kaana
is
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡمَهۡدِ
mahdi
the cradle
صَبِيّٗا
ṣabiyyaa?
a child
٢٩
19:30
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I am
عَبۡدُ
ʻAbdul
a slave
ٱللَّهِ
laah:
(of) Allah
ءَاتَىٰنِيَ
ʹaataaniyal
He gave me
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Scripture
وَجَعَلَنِي
wa-jaʻalanee
and made me
نَبِيّٗا
Nabiyyaa;
a Prophet
٣٠
19:31
وَجَعَلَنِي
Wa-jaʻalanee
And He (has) made me
مُبَارَكًا
mubaarakan
blessed
أَيۡنَ
ʹayna
wherever
مَا
maa
wherever
كُنتُ
kuñtu,
I am
وَأَوۡصَٰنِي
wa-ʹawṣaanee
and has enjoined (on) me
بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
biṣ-Ṣalaati
[of] the prayer
وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ
waz-Zakaati
and zakah
مَا
maa-
as long as I am
دُمۡتُ
dumtu
as long as I am
حَيّٗا
ḥayyaa:
alive
٣١
19:32
وَبَرَّۢا
Wa-barram
And dutiful
بِوَٰلِدَتِي
biwaalidatee
to my mother
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
and not
يَجۡعَلۡنِي
yajʻalnee
He (has) made me
جَبَّارٗا
jabbaarañ
insolent
شَقِيّٗا
shaq̣iyyaa;
unblessed
٣٢
19:33
وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ
Was-Salaamu
And peace (be)
عَلَيَّ
ʻalayya
on me
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(the) day
وُلِدتُّ
wulittu
I was born
وَيَوۡمَ
wa-yawma
and (the) day
أَمُوتُ
ʹamootu
I will die
وَيَوۡمَ
wa-yawma
and (the) Day
أُبۡعَثُ
ʹubʻas̤u
I will be raised
حَيّٗا
ḥayyaa!
alive
٣٣
19:34
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
عِيسَى
ʻEesab
(was) Isa
ٱبۡنُ
nu
(the) son
مَرۡيَمَۖ
Maryam:
(of) Maryam
قَوۡلَ
q̣awlal
a statement
ٱلۡحَقِّ
ḥaq̣q̣il
(of) truth
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
that which
فِيهِ
feehi
about it
يَمۡتَرُونَ
yamtaroon.
they dispute
٣٤
19:35
مَا
Maa-
Not
كَانَ
kaana
(it) is
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
for Allah
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَتَّخِذَ
yattakhiẓa
He should take
مِن
miñw
any son
وَلَدٖۖ
waladiñ
any son
سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥٓۚ
Subḥaanah!
Glory be to Him
إِذَا
ʹIẓaa
When
قَضَىٰٓ
q̣aḍaaa
He decrees
أَمۡرٗا
ʹamrañ
a matter
فَإِنَّمَا
faʹinnamaa
then only
يَقُولُ
yaq̣oolu
He says
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to it
كُن
Kuñ
Be
فَيَكُونُ
Fayakoon.˺
and it is
٣٥
19:36
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinnal
And indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
رَبِّي
Rabbee
(is) my Lord
وَرَبُّكُمۡ
wa-Rabbukum
and your Lord
فَٱعۡبُدُوهُۚ
faʻbudooh:
so worship Him
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
This
صِرَٰطٞ
Ṣiraaṭum
(is) a path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٞ
Mustaq̣eem.
straight
٣٦
19:37
فَٱخۡتَلَفَ
Fakhtalafal
But differed
ٱلۡأَحۡزَابُ
ʹaḥzaabu
the sects
مِنۢ
mim
from among them
بَيۡنِهِمۡۖ
baynihim:
from among them
فَوَيۡلٞ
fawaylul
so woe
لِّلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
to those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
مِن
mim
from
مَّشۡهَدِ
Mashhadi
(the) witnessing
يَوۡمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍ
ʻaz̤̣eem!
great
٣٧
19:38
أَسۡمِعۡ
ʹAsmiʻ
How they will hear
بِهِمۡ
bihim
How they will hear
وَأَبۡصِرۡ
wa-ʹabṣir
and how (they will) see
يَوۡمَ
Yawma
(the) Day
يَأۡتُونَنَا
yaʹtoonanaa
they will come to Us
لَٰكِنِ
laakiniz̤̣
but
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoonal
the wrongdoers
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
yawma
today
فِي
fee
(are) in
ضَلَٰلٖ
ḍalaalim
error
مُّبِينٖ
mubeen!
clear
٣٨

19:39
وَأَنذِرۡهُمۡ
Waʹañẓirhum
And warn them
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(of the) Day
ٱلۡحَسۡرَةِ
Ḥasrati
(of) the Regret
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
قُضِيَ
q̣uḍiyal
has been decided
ٱلۡأَمۡرُ
ʹamr.
the matter
وَهُمۡ
Wa-hum
And they
فِي
fee
(are) in
غَفۡلَةٖ
g̣aflatiñw
heedlessness
وَهُمۡ
wahum
and they
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon!
believe
٣٩
19:40
إِنَّا
ʹInnaa
Indeed We
نَحۡنُ
Naḥnu
[We]
نَرِثُ
naris̤ul
[We] will inherit
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹarḍa
the earth
وَمَنۡ
wa-man
and whoever
عَلَيۡهَا
ʻalayhaa
(is) on it
وَإِلَيۡنَا
wa-ʹilaynaa
and to Us
يُرۡجَعُونَ
yurjaʻoon.
they will be returned
٤٠
19:41
وَٱذۡكُرۡ
Waẓkur
And mention
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Book
إِبۡرَٰهِيمَۚ
ʹIbraaheem:
Ibrahim
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed he
كَانَ
kaana
was
صِدِّيقٗا
Ṣiddeeq̣an
a man of truth
نَّبِيًّا
Nabiyyaa.
a Prophet
٤١
19:42
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
لِأَبِيهِ
liʹabeehi
to his father
يَٰٓأَبَتِ
yaaaʹabati
O my father
لِمَ
lima
Why
تَعۡبُدُ
taʻbudu
(do) you worship
مَا
maa
that which
لَا
laa-
not
يَسۡمَعُ
yasmaʻu
hears
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يُبۡصِرُ
yubṣiru
sees
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يُغۡنِي
yug̣nee
benefits
عَنكَ
ʻañka
[to] you
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹaa?
(in) anything
٤٢
19:43
يَٰٓأَبَتِ
Yaaaʹabati
O my father
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed [I]
قَدۡ
q̣ad
verily
جَآءَنِي
jaaaʹanee
(has) come to me
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡعِلۡمِ
ʻilmi
the knowledge
مَا
maa-
what
لَمۡ
lam
not
يَأۡتِكَ
yaʹtika
came to you
فَٱتَّبِعۡنِيٓ
fattabiʻneee
so follow me
أَهۡدِكَ
ʹahdika
I will guide you
صِرَٰطٗا
Ṣiraaṭañ
(to) the path
سَوِيّٗا
sawiyyaa.
even
٤٣
19:44
يَٰٓأَبَتِ
Yaaaʹabati
O my father
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَعۡبُدِ
taʻbudish
worship
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَۖ
Shayṭaan:
the Shaitaan
إِنَّ
ʹinnash
Indeed
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ
Shayṭaana
the Shaitaan
كَانَ
kaana
is
لِلرَّحۡمَٰنِ
lir-Raḥmaani
to the Most Gracious
عَصِيّٗا
ʻaṣiyyaa.
disobedient
٤٤
19:45
يَٰٓأَبَتِ
Yaaaʹabati
O my father
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَخَافُ
ʹakhaafu
[I] fear
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَمَسَّكَ
yamassaka
will touch you
عَذَابٞ
ʻAẓaabum
a punishment
مِّنَ
minar
from
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ
Raḥmaani
the Most Gracious
فَتَكُونَ
fatakoona
so you would be
لِلشَّيۡطَٰنِ
lish-Shayṭaani
to the Shaitaan
وَلِيّٗا
waliyyaa.
a friend
٤٥
19:46
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَرَاغِبٌ
ʹaraag̣ibun
Do you hate
أَنتَ
ʹañta
Do you hate
عَنۡ
ʻan
(from)
ءَالِهَتِي
ʹaalihatee
my gods
يَٰٓإِبۡرَٰهِيمُۖ
yaaaʹIbraaheem?
O Ibrahim
لَئِن
Laʹil
Surely if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
تَنتَهِ
tañtahi
you desist
لَأَرۡجُمَنَّكَۖ
laʹarjumannaka
surely I will stone you
وَٱهۡجُرۡنِي
wahjurnee
so leave me
مَلِيّٗا
maliyyaa!
(for) a prolonged time
٤٦
19:47
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
سَلَٰمٌ
Salaamun
Peace (be)
عَلَيۡكَۖ
ʻalayk:
on you
سَأَسۡتَغۡفِرُ
saʹastag̣firu
I will ask forgiveness
لَكَ
laka
for you
رَبِّيٓۖ
Rabbee:
(from) my Lord
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed He
كَانَ
kaana
is
بِي
bee
to me
حَفِيّٗا
Ḥafiyyaa.
Ever Gracious
٤٧
19:48
وَأَعۡتَزِلُكُمۡ
Wa-ʹaʻtazilukum
And I will leave you
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
تَدۡعُونَ
tadʻoona
you invoke
مِن
miñ
besides
دُونِ
doonil
besides
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَأَدۡعُواْ
wa-ʹadʻoo
and I will invoke
رَبِّي
Rabbee
my Lord
عَسَىٰٓ
ʻasaaa
May be
أَلَّآ
ʹallaaa
that not
أَكُونَ
ʹakoona
I will be
بِدُعَآءِ
biduʻaaaʹi
in invocation
رَبِّي
Rabbee
(to) my Lord
شَقِيّٗا
shaq̣iyyaa.
unblessed
٤٨
19:49
فَلَمَّا
Falammaʻ
So when
ٱعۡتَزَلَهُمۡ
tazalahum
he left them
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
يَعۡبُدُونَ
yaʻbudoona
they worshipped
مِن
miñ
besides Allah
دُونِ
doonil
besides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
besides Allah
وَهَبۡنَا
wahabnaa
[and] We bestowed
لَهُۥٓ
lahooo
[to] him
إِسۡحَٰقَ
ʹIsḥaaq̣a
Isaac
وَيَعۡقُوبَۖ
wa-Yaʻq̣oob:
and Yaqub
وَكُلّٗا
wa-kullañ
and each (of them)
جَعَلۡنَا
jaʻalnaa
We made
نَبِيّٗا
nabiyyaa.
a Prophet
٤٩
19:50
وَوَهَبۡنَا
Wa-wahabnaa
And We bestowed
لَهُم
lahum
to them
مِّن
mir
of
رَّحۡمَتِنَا
Raḥmatinaa
Our Mercy
وَجَعَلۡنَا
wa-jaʻalnaa
and We made
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
لِسَانَ
lisaana
a truthful mention
صِدۡقٍ
ṣidq̣in
a truthful mention
عَلِيّٗا
ʻaliyyaa.
