16:1
أَتَىٰٓ
ʹAtaaa
Will come
أَمۡرُ
ʹAmrul
(the) command of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(the) command of Allah
فَلَا
falaa
so (do) not
تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوهُۚ
tastaʻjilooh:
(be) impatient for it
سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ
Subḥaanahoo
Glorified is He
وَتَعَٰلَىٰ
wa-taʻaalaa
and Exalted (is) He
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
above what
يُشۡرِكُونَ
yushrikoon.
they associate
١
16:2
يُنَزِّلُ
Yunazzilul
He sends down
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ
malaaaʹikata
the Angels
بِٱلرُّوحِ
birrooḥi
with the inspiration
مِنۡ
min
of
أَمۡرِهِۦ
ʹAmrihee
His Command
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
upon
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
مِنۡ
min
of
عِبَادِهِۦٓ
ʻibaadiheee
His slaves
أَنۡ
ʹan
that
أَنذِرُوٓاْ
ʹañẓirooo
Warn
أَنَّهُۥ
ʹannahoo
that [He]
لَآ
Laaa
(there is) no
إِلَٰهَ
ʹilaaha
god
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَنَا۠
ʹana
Me
فَٱتَّقُونِ
fattaq̣oon.
so fear Me
٢
16:3
خَلَقَ
Khalaq̣as
He created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-ʹarḍa
and the earth
بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ
bilḥaq̣q̣:
in truth
تَعَٰلَىٰ
Taʻaalaa
Exalted is He
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
above what
يُشۡرِكُونَ
yushrikoon!
they associate
٣
16:4
خَلَقَ
Khalaq̣al
He created
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ
ʹiñsaana
the human kind
مِن
min
from
نُّطۡفَةٖ
nuṭfatiñ
a minute quantity of semen
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
then behold
هُوَ
huwa
he
خَصِيمٞ
khaṣeemum
(is) an opponent
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen!
clear
٤
16:5
وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمَ
Wal-ʹanʻaama
And the cattle
خَلَقَهَاۖ
khalaq̣ahaa
He created them
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
فِيهَا
feehaa
in them
دِفۡءٞ
difʹuñw
(is) warmth
وَمَنَٰفِعُ
wamanaafiʻu
and benefits
وَمِنۡهَا
wa-minhaa
and from them
تَأۡكُلُونَ
taʹkuloon.
you eat
٥
16:6
وَلَكُمۡ
Wa-lakum
And for you
فِيهَا
feehaa
in them
جَمَالٌ
jamaalun
(is) beauty
حِينَ
ḥeena
when
تُرِيحُونَ
tureeḥoona
you bring them in
وَحِينَ
waḥeena
and when
تَسۡرَحُونَ
tasraḥoon.
you take them out

وَتَحۡمِلُ
Wa-taḥmilu
And they carry
أَثۡقَالَكُمۡ
ʹas̤q̣aalakum
your loads
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
بَلَدٖ
baladil
a land
لَّمۡ
lam
not
تَكُونُواْ
takoonoo
you could
بَٰلِغِيهِ
baalig̣eehi
reach it
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بِشِقِّ
bishiq̣q̣il
with great trouble
ٱلۡأَنفُسِۚ
ʹañfus:
(to) yourselves
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
رَبَّكُمۡ
Rabbakum
your Lord
لَرَءُوفٞ
la-Raʹoofur
surely is Most Kind
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
٧
16:8
وَٱلۡخَيۡلَ
Walkhayla
And horses
وَٱلۡبِغَالَ
wal-big̣aala
and mules
وَٱلۡحَمِيرَ
wal-ḥameera
and donkeys
لِتَرۡكَبُوهَا
litarkaboohaa
for you to ride them
وَزِينَةٗۚ
wa-zeenah;
and (as) adornment
وَيَخۡلُقُ
wa-yakhluq̣u
And He creates
مَا
maa
what
لَا
laa-
not
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon.
you know
٨
16:9
وَعَلَى
Wa-ʻalal
And upon
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
قَصۡدُ
q̣aṣdus
(is) the direction
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
Sabeeli
(of) the way
وَمِنۡهَا
wa-minhaa
and among them
جَآئِرٞۚ
jaaaʹir:
(are) crooked
وَلَوۡ
wa-law
And if
شَآءَ
shaaaʹa
He willed
لَهَدَىٰكُمۡ
lahadaakum
surely He would have guided you
أَجۡمَعِينَ
ʹajmaʻeen.

16:10
هُوَ
Huwal
He
ٱلَّذِيٓ
laẓeee
(is) the One Who
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzala
sends down
مِنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
مَآءٗۖ
maaaʹal
water
لَّكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنۡهُ
minhu
of it
شَرَابٞ
sharaabuñw
(is) drink
وَمِنۡهُ
waminhu
and from it
شَجَرٞ
shajaruñ
(grows) vegetation
فِيهِ
feehi
in which
تُسِيمُونَ
tuseemoon.
you pasture your cattle
١٠
16:11
يُنۢبِتُ
Yumbitu
He causes to grow
لَكُم
lakum̃
for you
بِهِ
bihiz
with it
ٱلزَّرۡعَ
zarʻa
the crops
وَٱلزَّيۡتُونَ
wazzaytoona
and the olives
وَٱلنَّخِيلَ
wannakheela
and the date-palms
وَٱلۡأَعۡنَٰبَ
wal-ʹaʻnaaba
and the grapes
وَمِن
wa-miñ
and of
كُلِّ
kullis̤
every kind
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِۚ
s̤amaraat:
(of) fruits
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَةٗ
laʹAayatal
surely (is) a sign
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
yatafakkaroon.
who reflect
١١
16:12
وَسَخَّرَ
Wa-sakhkhara
And He has subjected
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلَّيۡلَ
layla
the night
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wannahaara
and the day
وَٱلشَّمۡسَ
washshamsa
and the sun
وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ
walq̣amar;
and the moon
وَٱلنُّجُومُ
wannujoomu
and the stars
مُسَخَّرَٰتُۢ
musakhkharaatum
(are) subjected
بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۚ
biʹAmrih:
by His command
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَٰتٖ
laʹAayaatil
surely (are) signs
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَعۡقِلُونَ
yaʻq̣iloon.
who use reason
١٢
16:13
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And whatever
ذَرَأَ
ẓaraʹa
He multiplied
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
مُخۡتَلِفًا
mukhtalifan
(of) varying
أَلۡوَٰنُهُۥٓۚ
ʹalwaanuh:
colors
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَةٗ
laʹaayatal
surely (is) a sign
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَذَّكَّرُونَ
yaẓẓakkaroon.
who remember
١٣
16:14
وَهُوَ
Wa-Huwal
And He
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(is) the One Who
سَخَّرَ
sakhkharal
subjected
ٱلۡبَحۡرَ
baḥra
the sea
لِتَأۡكُلُواْ
litaʹkuloo
for you to eat
مِنۡهُ
minhu
from it
لَحۡمٗا
laḥmañ
meat
طَرِيّٗا
ṭariyyañw
fresh
وَتَسۡتَخۡرِجُواْ
watastakhrijoo
and that you bring forth
مِنۡهُ
minhu
from it
حِلۡيَةٗ
ḥilyatañ
ornaments
تَلۡبَسُونَهَاۖ
talbasoonahaa:
(that) you wear them
وَتَرَى
wa-taral
And you see
ٱلۡفُلۡكَ
fulka
the ships
مَوَاخِرَ
mawaakhira
ploughing
فِيهِ
feehi
through it
وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ
wa-litabtag̣oo
and that you may seek
مِن
miñ
of
فَضۡلِهِۦ
faḍlihee
His Bounty
وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ
wa-laʻallakum
and that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuroon.
(be) grateful

16:15
وَأَلۡقَىٰ
Wa-ʹalq̣aa
And He has cast
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
رَوَٰسِيَ
rawaasiya
firm mountains
أَن
ʹañ
lest
تَمِيدَ
tameeda
it should shake
بِكُمۡ
bikum
with you
وَأَنۡهَٰرٗا
wa-ʹanhaarañw
and rivers
وَسُبُلٗا
wasubulal
and roads
لَّعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَهۡتَدُونَ
tahtadoon:
be guided
١٥
16:16
وَعَلَٰمَٰتٖۚ
Wa-ʻalaamaat;
And landmarks
وَبِٱلنَّجۡمِ
wa-binnajmi
And by the stars
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَهۡتَدُونَ
yahtadoon.
guide themselves
١٦
16:17
أَفَمَن
ʹAfamañy
Then is He Who
يَخۡلُقُ
yakhluq̣u
creates
كَمَن
kamal
like one who
لَّا
laa
(does) not
يَخۡلُقُۚ
yakhluq̣?
create
أَفَلَا
ʹAfalaa
Then will you not
تَذَكَّرُونَ
taẓakkaroon?
remember
١٧
16:18
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
تَعُدُّواْ
taʻuddoo
you should count
نِعۡمَةَ
niʻmatal
the Favors of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
the Favors of Allah
لَا
laa-
not
تُحۡصُوهَآۗ
tuḥṣoohaa:
you could enumerate them
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَغَفُورٞ
la-G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
١٨
16:19
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
مَا
maa-
what
تُسِرُّونَ
tusirroona
you conceal
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
تُعۡلِنُونَ
tuʻlinoon.
you reveal
١٩
16:20
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those whom
يَدۡعُونَ
yadʻoona
they invoke
مِن
miñ
besides
دُونِ
doonil
besides
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
لَا
laa-
not
يَخۡلُقُونَ
yakhluq̣oona
they create
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
anything
وَهُمۡ
wahum
but (are) themselves
يُخۡلَقُونَ
yukhlaq̣oon.
created
٢٠
16:21
أَمۡوَٰتٌ
ʹAmwaatun
(They are) dead
غَيۡرُ
g̣ayru
not alive
أَحۡيَآءٖۖ
ʹaḥyaaaʹ:
not alive
وَمَا
wa-maa
And not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroona
they perceive
أَيَّانَ
ʹayyaana
when
يُبۡعَثُونَ
yubʻas̤oon.
they will be resurrected
٢١
16:22
إِلَٰهُكُمۡ
ʹIlaahukum
Your god
إِلَٰهٞ
ʹIlaahuñw
(is) God
وَٰحِدٞۚ
Waaḥid:
One
فَٱلَّذِينَ
fallaẓeena
But those who
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
believe
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
bil-ʹAakhirati
in the Hereafter
قُلُوبُهُم
q̣uloobuhum
their hearts
مُّنكِرَةٞ
muñkiratuñw
refuse
وَهُم
wahum
and they
مُّسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ
mustakbiroon.
(are) arrogant
٢٢
16:23
لَا
Laa-
No doubt
جَرَمَ
jarama
No doubt
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
مَا
maa-
what
يُسِرُّونَ
yusirroona
they conceal
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
يُعۡلِنُونَۚ
yuʻlinoon:
they reveal
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed He
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
love
ٱلۡمُسۡتَكۡبِرِينَ
mustakbireen.
the arrogant ones
٢٣
16:24
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
قِيلَ
q̣eela
it is said
لَهُم
lahum
to them
مَّاذَآ
maaẓaaa
What
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzala
has your Lord sent down
رَبُّكُمۡ
Rabbukum
has your Lord sent down
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aalooo
They say
أَسَٰطِيرُ
ʹasaaṭeerul
Tales
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
ʹawwaleen?
(of) the ancient
٢٤
16:25
لِيَحۡمِلُوٓاْ
Liyaḥmilooo
That they may bear
أَوۡزَارَهُمۡ
ʹawzaarahum
their own burdens
كَامِلَةٗ
kaamilatañy
(in) full
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
on (the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
وَمِنۡ
wa-min
and of
أَوۡزَارِ
ʹawzaaril
the burdens
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those whom
يُضِلُّونَهُم
yuḍilloonahum̃
they misled [them]
بِغَيۡرِ
big̣ayri
without
عِلۡمٍۗ
ʻilm.
knowledge
أَلَا
ʹAlaa
Unquestionably
سَآءَ
saaaʹa
evil
مَا
maa-
(is) what
يَزِرُونَ
yaziroon!
they will bear
٢٥
16:26
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Verily
مَكَرَ
makaral
plotted
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
مِن
miñ
(were) before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡ
q̣ablihim
(were) before them
فَأَتَى
faʹatal
but Allah came
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
but Allah came
بُنۡيَٰنَهُم
bunyaanahum
(at) their building
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ
q̣awaaʻidi
the foundations
فَخَرَّ
fakharra
so fell
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimus
upon them
ٱلسَّقۡفُ
saq̣fu
the roof
مِن
miñ
from
فَوۡقِهِمۡ
fawq̣ihim
above them
وَأَتَىٰهُمُ
wa-ʹataahumul
and came to them
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
ʻaẓaabu
the punishment
مِنۡ
min
from
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
where
لَا
laa-
they (did) not perceive
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroon.
they (did) not perceive

ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(on) the Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
يُخۡزِيهِمۡ
yukhzeehim
He will disgrace them
وَيَقُولُ
wa-yaq̣oolu
and say
أَيۡنَ
ʹayna
Where
شُرَكَآءِيَ
shurakaaaʹiyal
(are) My partners
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those (for) whom
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used (to)
تُشَٰٓقُّونَ
tushaaaq̣q̣oona
oppose
فِيهِمۡۚ
feehim?
[in them]
قَالَ
Q̣aalal
Will say
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
أُوتُواْ
ʹootul
were given
ٱلۡعِلۡمَ
ʻilma
the knowledge
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱلۡخِزۡيَ
khizyal
the disgrace
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
yawma
this Day
وَٱلسُّوٓءَ
wassoooʹa
and evil
عَلَى
ʻalal
(are) upon
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen,―
the disbelievers
٢٧
16:28
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those whom
تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ
tatawaffaahumul
take them in death
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
malaaaʹikatu
the Angels
ظَالِمِيٓ
z̤̣aalimeee
(while) wronging
أَنفُسِهِمۡۖ
ʹañfusihim.
themselves
فَأَلۡقَوُاْ
Faʹalq̣awus
then they would offer
ٱلسَّلَمَ
salama
the submission
مَا
maa-
Not
كُنَّا
kunnaa
we were
نَعۡمَلُ
naʻmalu
doing
مِن
miñ
any
سُوٓءِۭۚ
soooʹ.
evil
بَلَىٰٓۚ
Balaaa
Nay
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
ʻAleemum
(is) All-Knower
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you used (to)
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon.
do
٢٨
16:29
فَٱدۡخُلُوٓاْ
Fadkhulooo
So enter
أَبۡوَٰبَ
ʹabwaaba
(the) gates
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
(of) Hell
خَٰلِدِينَ
khaalideena
(to) abide forever
فِيهَاۖ
feeha.
in it
فَلَبِئۡسَ
Falabiʹsa
Surely wretched
مَثۡوَى
mas̤wal
(is the) abode
ٱلۡمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
mutakabbireen.
(of) the arrogant
٢٩
16:30
۞وَقِيلَ
Wa-q̣eela
And it will be said
لِلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeenat
to those who
ٱتَّقَوۡاْ
taq̣aw
fear Allah
مَاذَآ
maaẓaaa
What
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzala
has your Lord sent down
رَبُّكُمۡۚ
Rabbukum?
has your Lord sent down
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They will say
خَيۡرٗاۗ
khayraa.
Good
لِّلَّذِينَ
Lillaẓeena
For those who
أَحۡسَنُواْ
ʹaḥsanoo
do good
فِي
fee
in
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihid
this
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
world
حَسَنَةٞۚ
ḥasanah.
(is) a good
وَلَدَارُ
Wa-la-Daarul
and the home
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
of the Hereafter
خَيۡرٞۚ
khayr.
(is) better
وَلَنِعۡمَ
Wa-laniʻma
And surely excellent
دَارُ
Daarul
(is) the home
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Muttaq̣een,―
(of) the righteous
٣٠
16:31
جَنَّٰتُ
Jannaatu
Gardens
عَدۡنٖ
ʻAdniñy
(of) Eden
يَدۡخُلُونَهَا
yadkhuloonahaa
which they will enter
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flows
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهَا
taḥtihal
underneath them
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖ
ʹanhaaru
the rivers
لَهُمۡ
lahum
For them
فِيهَا
feehaa
therein
مَا
maa-
(will be) whatever
يَشَآءُونَۚ
yashaaaʹoon:
they wish
كَذَٰلِكَ
kaẓaalika
Thus
يَجۡزِي
yajzil
Allah rewards
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah rewards
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Muttaq̣een,―
the righteous
٣١
16:32
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those whom
تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ
tatawaffaahumul
take them in death
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
malaaaʹikatu
the Angels
طَيِّبِينَ
ṭayyibeena
(when they are) pure
يَقُولُونَ
yaq̣ooloona
saying
سَلَٰمٌ
Salaamun
Peace
عَلَيۡكُمُ
ʻalaykumud
(be) upon you
ٱدۡخُلُواْ
khulul
Enter
ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
Jannata
Paradise
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used (to)
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon.
do

16:33
هَلۡ
Hal
Do
يَنظُرُونَ
yañz̤̣uroona
they wait
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَأۡتِيَهُمُ
taʹtiyahumul
(should) come to them
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
malaaaʹikatu
the Angels
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يَأۡتِيَ
yaʹtiya
(should) come
أَمۡرُ
ʹAmru
(the) Command
رَبِّكَۚ
Rabbik?
(of) your Lord
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Thus
فَعَلَ
faʻalal
did
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
مِن
miñ
(were) before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ
q̣ablihim.
(were) before them
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
ظَلَمَهُمُ
z̤̣alamahumul
wronged them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakiñ
but
كَانُوٓاْ
kaanooo
they were
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
يَظۡلِمُونَ
yaz̤̣limoon.
wronging
٣٣
16:34
فَأَصَابَهُمۡ
Faʹaṣaabahum
Then struck them
سَيِّـَٔاتُ
sayyiʹaatu
(the) evil (results)
مَا
maa-
(of) what
عَمِلُواْ
ʻamiloo
they did
وَحَاقَ
waḥaaq̣a
and surrounded
بِهِم
bihim
them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used (to)
بِهِۦ
bihee
[of it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
yastahziʹoon.

وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aalal
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
أَشۡرَكُواْ
ʹashrakoo
associate partners (with Allah)
لَوۡ
law
If
شَآءَ
shaaaʹal
Allah (had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah (had) willed

نَّحۡنُ
naḥnu
we
وَلَآ
wa-laaa
and not
ءَابَآؤُنَا
ʹaabaaaʹunaa
our forefathers
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
حَرَّمۡنَا
ḥarramnaa
we (would) have forbidden
مِن
miñ
other than Him
دُونِهِۦ
doonihee
other than Him
مِن
miñ
anything
شَيۡءٖۚ
shayyʹ.
anything
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Thus
فَعَلَ
faʻalal
did
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
مِن
miñ
(were) before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ
q̣ablihim
(were) before them
فَهَلۡ
Fahal
Then is (there)
عَلَى
ʻalar
on
ٱلرُّسُلِ
rusuli
the messengers
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ
Balaag̣ul
the conveyance
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
Mubeen?
clear
٣٥
16:36
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
بَعَثۡنَا
baʻas̤naa
We sent
فِي
fee
into
كُلِّ
kulli
every
أُمَّةٖ
ʹummatir
nation
رَّسُولًا
rasoolan
a Messenger
أَنِ
ʹaniʻ
that
ٱعۡبُدُواْ
budul
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ
wajtanibuṭ
and avoid
ٱلطَّٰغُوتَۖ
Ṭaag̣oot;
the false deities
فَمِنۡهُم
faminhum
Then among them
مَّنۡ
man
(were some) whom
هَدَى
hadal
Allah guided
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah guided
وَمِنۡهُم
wa-minhum
and among them
مَّنۡ
man
(were) some
حَقَّتۡ
ḥaq̣q̣at
was justified
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhiḍ
on them
ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُۚ
ḍalaalah.
the straying
فَسِيرُواْ
Faseeroo
So travel
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
فَٱنظُرُواْ
fañz̤̣uroo
and see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kaana
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
ʻaaq̣ibatul
the end
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
mukaẓẓibeen.
(of) the deniers
٣٦
16:37
إِن
ʹIñ
If
تَحۡرِصۡ
taḥriṣ
you desire
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
[for]
هُدَىٰهُمۡ
hudaahum
their guidance
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَا
laa-
(will) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdee
guide
مَن
mañy
whom
يُضِلُّۖ
yuḍillu
He lets go astray
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not (are)
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مِّن
min
any
نَّٰصِرِينَ
naaṣireen.
helpers
٣٧
16:38
وَأَقۡسَمُواْ
Wa-ʹaq̣samoo
And they swear
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
by Allah
جَهۡدَ
jahda
strongest
أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ
ʹaymaanihim
(of) their oaths
لَا
laa-
Allah will not resurrect
يَبۡعَثُ
yabʻas̤ul
Allah will not resurrect
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah will not resurrect
مَن
mañy
(one) who
يَمُوتُۚ
yamoot:
dies
بَلَىٰ
balaa
Nay
وَعۡدًا
waʻdan
(it is) a promise
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
upon Him
حَقّٗا
ḥaq̣q̣añw
(in) truth
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walaakinna
but
أَكۡثَرَ
ʹaks̤aran
most
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
(of) the mankind
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know
٣٨
16:39
لِيُبَيِّنَ
Liyubayyina
That He will make clear
لَهُمُ
lahumul
to them
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
that
يَخۡتَلِفُونَ
yakhtalifoona
they differ
فِيهِ
feehi
wherein
وَلِيَعۡلَمَ
wa-liyaʻlamal
and that may know
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafarooo
disbelieved
أَنَّهُمۡ
ʹannahum
that they
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
were
كَٰذِبِينَ
kaaẓibeen.
liars
٣٩
16:40
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamaa
Only
قَوۡلُنَا
q̣awlunaa
Our Word
لِشَيۡءٍ
lishayʹin
to a thing
إِذَآ
ʹiẓaaa
when
أَرَدۡنَٰهُ
ʹaradnaahu
We intend it
أَن
ʹan
(is) that
نَّقُولَ
naq̣oola
We say
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to it
كُن
Kuñ
Be
فَيَكُونُ
Fayakoon.
and it is
٤٠
16:41
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
هَاجَرُواْ
haajaroo
emigrated
فِي
fil
in (the way)
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
مِنۢ
mim
after
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
مَا
maa-
[what]
ظُلِمُواْ
z̤̣ulimoo
they were wronged
لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمۡ
lanubawwiʹannahum
surely We will give them position
فِي
fid
in
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
the world
حَسَنَةٗۖ
ḥasanah;
good
وَلَأَجۡرُ
wa-laʹajrul
but surely the reward
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
(of) the Hereafter
أَكۡبَرُۚ
ʹakbar.
(is) greater
لَوۡ
Law
if
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon!
know
٤١
16:42
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
صَبَرُواْ
ṣabaroo
(are) patient
وَعَلَىٰ
wa-ʻalaa
and on
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
yatawakkaloon.
they put their trust

وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
ʹarsalnaa
We sent
مِن
miñ
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
q̣ablika
before you
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
رِجَالٗا
rijaalan
men
نُّوحِيٓ
nooḥeee
We revealed
إِلَيۡهِمۡۖ
ʹilayhim,
to them
فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ
fasʹalooo
so ask
أَهۡلَ
ʹahlaẓ
(the) people
ٱلذِّكۡرِ
Ẓikri
(of) the Reminder
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you
لَا
laa-
(do) not
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon,―
know
٤٣
16:44
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
Bil-Bayyinaati
With the clear proofs
وَٱلزُّبُرِۗ
waz-Zubur;
and the Books
وَأَنزَلۡنَآ
wa-ʹañzalnaaa
And We sent down
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilaykaẓ
to you
ٱلذِّكۡرَ
Ẓikra
the Remembrance
لِتُبَيِّنَ
litubayyina
that you may make clear
لِلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
to the mankind
مَا
maa-
what
نُزِّلَ
nuzzila
has been sent down
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
to them
وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ
wa-laʻallahum
and that they may
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
yatafakkaroon.
reflect
٤٤
16:45
أَفَأَمِنَ
ʹA-faʹaminal
Do then feel secure
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
مَكَرُواْ
makarus
plotted
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
sayyiʹaati
the evil deeds
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَخۡسِفَ
yakhsifal
Allah will cave
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah will cave
بِهِمُ
bihimul
with them
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹarḍa
the earth
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يَأۡتِيَهُمُ
yaʹtiyahumul
will come to them
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
ʻaẓaabu
the punishment
مِنۡ
min
from
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
where
لَا
laa-
not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroon?
they perceive
٤٥
16:46
أَوۡ
ʹAw
Or
يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ
yaʹkhuẓahum
that He may seize them
فِي
fee
in
تَقَلُّبِهِمۡ
taq̣allubihim
their going to and fro
فَمَا
famaa
then not
هُم
hum̃
they
بِمُعۡجِزِينَ
bimuʻjizeen?―
will be able to escape
٤٦
16:47
أَوۡ
ʹAw
Or
يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ
yaʹkhuẓahum
that He may seize them
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
with
تَخَوُّفٖ
takhawwuf:
a gradual wasting
فَإِنَّ
faʹinna
But indeed
رَبَّكُمۡ
Rabbakum
your Lord
لَرَءُوفٞ
la-Raʹoofur
(is) surely Full of Kindness
رَّحِيمٌ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
٤٧
16:48
أَوَلَمۡ
ʹA-walam
Have not
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they seen
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
[towards]
مَا
maa-
what
خَلَقَ
khalaq̣al
Allah has created
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah has created
مِن
miñ
from
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñy
a thing
يَتَفَيَّؤُاْ
yatafayyaʹu
Incline
ظِلَٰلُهُۥ
z̤̣ilaaluhoo
their shadows
عَنِ
ʻanil
to
ٱلۡيَمِينِ
yameeni
the right
وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ
washshamaaaʹili
and to the left
سُجَّدٗا
sujjadal
prostrating
لِّلَّهِ
lillaahi
to Allah
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
دَٰخِرُونَ
daakhiroon?
(are) humble
٤٨
16:49
وَلِلَّهِۤ
Wa-lillaahi
And to Allah
يَسۡجُدُۤ
yasjudu
prostrate
مَا
maa-
whatever
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَمَا
wa-maa
and whatever
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
مِن
miñ
of
دَآبَّةٖ
daaabbatiñw
moving creatures
وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
walmalaaaʹikatu
and the Angels
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
and they
لَا
laa-
(are) not
يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ
yastakbiroon,
arrogant
٤٩
16:50
يَخَافُونَ
Yakhaafoona
They fear
رَبَّهُم
Rabbahum
their Lord
مِّن
miñ
above them
فَوۡقِهِمۡ
fawq̣ihim
above them
وَيَفۡعَلُونَ
wayafʻaloona
and they do
مَا
maa-
what
يُؤۡمَرُونَ۩
yuʹmaroon.
they are commanded
