14:1
الٓرۚ
ʹAlif-Laaam-Raa.
Alif Laam Ra
كِتَٰبٌ
Kitaabun
A Book
أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ
ʹañzalnaahu
which We have revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to you
لِتُخۡرِجَ
litukhrijan
so that you may bring out
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the mankind
مِنَ
minaz̤̣
from
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
z̤̣ulumaati
the darkness[es]
إِلَى
ʹilan
to
ٱلنُّورِ
Noori―
the light
بِإِذۡنِ
biʹiẓni
by the permission
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
(of) their Lord
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
صِرَٰطِ
Ṣiraaṭil
the Path
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
ʻAzeezil
(of) the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَمِيدِ
Ḥameed!―
the Praiseworthy
١
14:2
ٱللَّهِ
ʹAllaahil
Allah
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(is) the One
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to Him (belongs)
مَا
maa-
whatever
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَمَا
wa-maa
and whatever
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ
ʹarḍ!
the earth
وَوَيۡلٞ
Wa-waylul
And woe
لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireena
to the disbelievers
مِنۡ
min
from
عَذَابٖ
ʻaẓaabiñ
the punishment
شَدِيدٍ
shadeed!
severe
٢
14:3
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
يَسۡتَحِبُّونَ
yastaḥibboonal
love more
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ
ḥayaatad
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
عَلَى
ʻalal
than
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
the Hereafter
وَيَصُدُّونَ
wa-yaṣuddoona
and hinder
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَبِيلِ
sabeelil
(the) Path
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَيَبۡغُونَهَا
wa-yabg̣oonahaa
and seek in it
عِوَجًاۚ
ʻiwajaa:
crookedness
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹika
those
فِي
fee
[in]
ضَلَٰلِۭ
ḍalaalim
(are) far astray
بَعِيدٖ
baʻeed.
(are) far astray
٣
14:4
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
ʹarsalnaa
We sent
مِن
mir
any
رَّسُولٍ
rasoolin
Messenger
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بِلِسَانِ
bilisaani
with the language
قَوۡمِهِۦ
q̣awmihee
(of) his people
لِيُبَيِّنَ
liyubayyina
so that he might make clear
لَهُمۡۖ
Lahum.
for them
فَيُضِلُّ
Fayuḍillul
Then Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Then Allah lets go astray
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
وَيَهۡدِي
wa-yahdee
and guides
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ:
He wills
وَهُوَ
wa-Huwal
And He
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
ʻAzeezul
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
Ḥakeem.
the All-Wise
٤
14:5
وَلَقَدۡ
wa-laq̣ad
And verily
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
ʹarsalnaa
We sent
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ
biʹAayaatinaaa
with Our Signs
أَنۡ
ʹan
that
أَخۡرِجۡ
ʹakhrij
Bring out
قَوۡمَكَ
q̣awmaka
your people
مِنَ
minaz̤̣
from
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
z̤̣ulumaati
the darkness[es]
إِلَى
ʹilan
to
ٱلنُّورِ
Noori,
the light
وَذَكِّرۡهُم
waẓakkirhum̃
And remind them
بِأَيَّىٰمِ
biʹAyyaamil
of the days
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah.
(of) Allah
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَٰتٖ
laʹAayaatil
surely (are) the signs
لِّكُلِّ
likulli
for everyone
صَبَّارٖ
ṣabbaariñ
patient
شَكُورٖ
shakoor.
and thankful

وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
لِقَوۡمِهِ
liq̣awmihiẓ
to his people
ٱذۡكُرُواْ
kuroo
Remember
نِعۡمَةَ
niʻmatal
(the) Favor of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(the) Favor of Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
أَنجَىٰكُم
ʹañjaakum
He saved you
مِّنۡ
min
from
ءَالِ
ʹAali
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
يَسُومُونَكُمۡ
yasoomoonakum
they were afflicting you
سُوٓءَ
soooʹal
(with) evil
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
ʻaẓaabi
torment
وَيُذَبِّحُونَ
wa-yuẓabbiḥoona
and were slaughtering
أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ
ʹabnaaaʹakum
your sons
وَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَ
wa-yastaḥyoona
and letting live
نِسَآءَكُمۡۚ
nisaaʹakum:
your women
وَفِي
wa-fee
And in
ذَٰلِكُم
ẓaalikum
that
بَلَآءٞ
balaaaʹum
(was) a trial
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
Rabbikum
your Lord
عَظِيمٞ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
great
٦
14:7
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
تَأَذَّنَ
taʹaẓẓana
proclaimed
رَبُّكُمۡ
Rabbukum
your Lord
لَئِن
laʹiñ
If
شَكَرۡتُمۡ
shakartum
you are thankful
لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمۡۖ
laʹazeedannakum
surely I will increase you
وَلَئِن
wa-laʹiñ
but if
كَفَرۡتُمۡ
kafartum
you are ungrateful
إِنَّ
ʹinna
indeed
عَذَابِي
ʻaẓaabee
My punishment
لَشَدِيدٞ
lashadeed.
(is) surely severe
٧
14:8
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aala
And said
مُوسَىٰٓ
Moosaaa
Musa
إِن
ʹiñ
If
تَكۡفُرُوٓاْ
takfurooo
you disbelieve
أَنتُمۡ
ʹañtum
you
وَمَن
wa-mañ
and whoever
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
جَمِيعٗا
jameeʻañ
all
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَغَنِيٌّ
la-G̣aniyyun
certainly (is) Free of need
حَمِيدٌ
Ḥameed.
Praiseworthy
٨
14:9
أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam
Has not
يَأۡتِكُمۡ
yaʹtikum
come to you
نَبَؤُاْ
nabaʹul
(the) news
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
مِن
miñ
(were) before you
قَبۡلِكُمۡ
q̣ablikum
(were) before you
قَوۡمِ
Q̣awmi
the people
نُوحٖ
Nooḥiñw
of Nuh
وَعَادٖ
waʻAadiñw
and Aad
وَثَمُودَ
wa-S̤amooda
and Thamud
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wallaẓeena
and those who
مِنۢ
mim
(were) after them
بَعۡدِهِمۡ
baʻdihim?
(were) after them
لَا
Laa-
None
يَعۡلَمُهُمۡ
yaʻlamuhum
knows them
إِلَّا
ʹillallaah.
except
ٱللَّهُۚ
Jaaaʹat
Allah
جَآءَتۡهُمۡ
hum
Came to them
رُسُلُهُم
rusuluhum
their Messengers
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
bilbayyinaati
with clear proofs
فَرَدُّوٓاْ
faraddooo
but they returned
أَيۡدِيَهُمۡ
ʹaydiyahum
their hands
فِيٓ
feee
in
أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ
ʹafwaahihim
their mouths
وَقَالُوٓاْ
wa-q̣aalooo
and they said
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
كَفَرۡنَا
kafarnaa
[we] disbelieve
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
أُرۡسِلۡتُم
ʹursiltum̃
you have been sent
بِهِۦ
bihee
with [it]
وَإِنَّا
wa-ʹinnaa
and indeed we
لَفِي
lafee
(are) surely in
شَكّٖ
shakkim
doubt
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
about what
تَدۡعُونَنَآ
tadʻoonanaaa
you invite us
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
to it
مُرِيبٖ
mureeb.
suspicious
٩
14:10
۞قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
Said
رُسُلُهُمۡ
rusuluhum
their Messengers
أَفِي
ʹafil
Can (there) be about
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
شَكّٞ
shakkuñ
any doubt
فَاطِرِ
Faaṭiris
(the) Creator
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
wal-ʹarḍ?
and the earth
يَدۡعُوكُمۡ
Yadʻookum
He invites you
لِيَغۡفِرَ
liyag̣fira
so that He may forgive
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّن
miñ
[of]
ذُنُوبِكُمۡ
ẓunoobikum
your sins
وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمۡ
wa-yuʹakhkhirakum
and give you respite
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
for
أَجَلٖ
ʹajalim
a term
مُّسَمّٗىۚ
musammaa!
appointed
قَالُوٓاْ
Q̣aalooo
They said
إِنۡ
ʹin
Not
أَنتُمۡ
ʹañtum
you
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
(are) but
بَشَرٞ
basharum
a human
مِّثۡلُنَا
mis̤lunaa!
like us
تُرِيدُونَ
Tureedoona
you wish
أَن
ʹañ
to
تَصُدُّونَا
taṣuddoonaa
hinder us
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
from what
كَانَ
kaana
used to
يَعۡبُدُ
yaʻbudu
worship
ءَابَآؤُنَا
ʹaabaaaʹunaa
our forefathers
فَأۡتُونَا
faʹtoonaa
So bring us
بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ
bisulṭaanim
an authority
مُّبِينٖ
mubeen.

قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
Said
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
رُسُلُهُمۡ
rusuluhum
their Messengers
إِن
ʹin
Not
نَّحۡنُ
naḥnu
we (are)
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
but
بَشَرٞ
basharum
a human
مِّثۡلُكُمۡ
mis̤lukum
like you
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnal
but
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَمُنُّ
yamunnu
bestows His Grace
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
مِنۡ
min
of
عِبَادِهِۦۖ
ʻibaadih.
His slaves
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كَانَ
kaana
is
لَنَآ
lanaaa
for us
أَن
ʹan
that
نَّأۡتِيَكُم
naʹtiyakum̃
we bring you
بِسُلۡطَٰنٍ
bisulṭaanin
an authority
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بِإِذۡنِ
biʹiẓnil
by the permission of Allah
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah.
by the permission of Allah
وَعَلَى
Wa-ʻalal
And upon
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ
falyatawakkalil
so let put (their) trust
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
Muʹminoon.
the believers
١١
14:12
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And what
لَنَآ
lanaaa
(is) for us
أَلَّا
ʹallaa
that not
نَتَوَكَّلَ
natawakkala
we put our trust
عَلَى
ʻalal
upon
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَقَدۡ
wa-q̣ad
while certainly
هَدَىٰنَا
hadaanaa
He has guided us
سُبُلَنَاۚ
Subulanaa.
to our ways
وَلَنَصۡبِرَنَّ
Wa-lanaṣbiranna
And surely we will bear with patience
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
مَآ
maaa
what
ءَاذَيۡتُمُونَاۚ
ʹaaẓaytumoonaa.
harm you may cause us
وَعَلَى
Wa-ʻalal
And upon
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ
falyatawakkalil
so let put (their) trust
ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
Mutawakkiloon.
the ones who put (their) trust
١٢
14:13
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aalal
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
لِرُسُلِهِمۡ
lirusulihim
to their Messengers
لَنُخۡرِجَنَّكُم
lanukhrijannakum
Surely we will drive you out
مِّنۡ
min
of
أَرۡضِنَآ
ʹarḍinaaa
our land
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
لَتَعُودُنَّ
lataʻoodunna
surely you should return
فِي
fee
to
مِلَّتِنَاۖ
millatinaa.
our religion
فَأَوۡحَىٰٓ
Faʹawḥaaa
So inspired
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
to them
رَبُّهُمۡ
Rabbuhum
their Lord
لَنُهۡلِكَنَّ
lanuhlikannaz̤̣
We will surely destroy
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen!
the wrongdoers
١٣
14:14
وَلَنُسۡكِنَنَّكُمُ
Wa-lanuskinan-nakumul
And surely We will make you dwell
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹarḍa
(in) the land
مِنۢ
mim
after them
بَعۡدِهِمۡۚ
baʻdihim.
after them
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
لِمَنۡ
liman
(is) for whoever
خَافَ
khaafa
fears
مَقَامِي
Maq̣aamee
standing before Me
وَخَافَ
wa-khaafa
and fears
وَعِيدِ
waʻeed.
My Threat
١٤
14:15
وَٱسۡتَفۡتَحُواْ
wastaftaḥoo
And they sought victory
وَخَابَ
wa-khaaba
and disappointed
كُلُّ
kullu
every
جَبَّارٍ
jabbaarin
tyrant
عَنِيدٖ
ʻaneed;
obstinate
١٥
14:16
مِّن
Miñw
of him
وَرَآئِهِۦ
waraaaʹihee
Ahead
جَهَنَّمُ
Jahannamu
(is) Hell
وَيُسۡقَىٰ
wa-yusq̣aa
and he will be made to drink
مِن
mim
of
مَّآءٖ
maaaʹiñ
water
صَدِيدٖ
ṣadeed.
purulent
١٦
14:17
يَتَجَرَّعُهُۥ
Yatajarraʻuhoo
He will sip it
وَلَا
wa-laa
but not
يَكَادُ
yakaadu
he will be near
يُسِيغُهُۥ
yuseeg̣uhoo
(to) swallowing it
وَيَأۡتِيهِ
wayaʹteehil
And will come to him
ٱلۡمَوۡتُ
mawtu
the death
مِن
miñ
from
كُلِّ
kulli
every
مَكَانٖ
makaaniñw
side
وَمَا
wamaa
but not
هُوَ
huwa
he
بِمَيِّتٖۖ
bimayyit:
will die
وَمِن
wa-miñw
And ahead of him
وَرَآئِهِۦ
waraaaʹihee
And ahead of him
عَذَابٌ
ʻaẓaabun
(is) a punishment
غَلِيظٞ
g̣aleez̤̣.

١٧
14:18
مَّثَلُ
Mas̤alul
(The) example
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ
bi-Rabbihim
in their Lord
أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡ
ʹaʻmaaluhum
their deeds
كَرَمَادٍ
karamaadinish
(are) like ashes
ٱشۡتَدَّتۡ
taddat
blows furiously
بِهِ
bihir
on it
ٱلرِّيحُ
reeḥu
the wind
فِي
fee
in
يَوۡمٍ
yawmin
a day
عَاصِفٖۖ
ʻaaṣif:
stormy
لَّا
laa-
No
يَقۡدِرُونَ
yaq̣diroona
control (they have)
مِمَّا
mimmaa
of what
كَسَبُواْ
kasaboo
they have earned
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
شَيۡءٖۚ
shayʹ:
anything
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
That
هُوَ
huwaḍ
[it]
ٱلضَّلَٰلُ
ḍalaalul
(is) the straying
ٱلۡبَعِيدُ
baʻeed.

أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam
Do not
تَرَ
tara
you see
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
خَلَقَ
khalaq̣as
created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-ʹarḍa
and the earth
بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ
bil-Ḥaq̣q̣?
in truth
إِن
ʹIñy
If
يَشَأۡ
yashaʹ
He wills
يُذۡهِبۡكُمۡ
yuẓhibkum
He can remove you
وَيَأۡتِ
wa-yaʹti
and bring
بِخَلۡقٖ
bikhalq̣iñ
a creation
جَدِيدٖ
jadeed.

14:20
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
(is) that
عَلَى
ʻalal
on
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
بِعَزِيزٖ
biʻazeez.
great
٢٠
14:21
وَبَرَزُواْ
Wa-barazoo
And they will come forth
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
before Allah
جَمِيعٗا
jameeʻañ
all together
فَقَالَ
faq̣aalaḍ
then will say
ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُاْ
ḍuʻafaaaʹu
the weak
لِلَّذِينَ
lil-laẓeenas
to those who
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوٓاْ
takbarooo
were arrogant
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
كُنَّا
kunnaa
we were
لَكُمۡ
lakum
your
تَبَعٗا
tabaʻañ
followers
فَهَلۡ
fahal
so can
أَنتُم
ʹañtum
you (be)
مُّغۡنُونَ
mug̣noona
the one who avails
عَنَّا
ʻannaa
us
مِنۡ
min
from
عَذَابِ
ʻAẓaabil
(the) punishment
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
مِن
miñ
anything
شَيۡءٖۚ
shayʹ?
anything
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They will say
لَوۡ
law
If
هَدَىٰنَا
hadaanal
Allah had guided us
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah had guided us
لَهَدَيۡنَٰكُمۡۖ
lahadaynaakum!
surely we would have guided you
سَوَآءٌ
Sawaaaʹun
(It is) same
عَلَيۡنَآ
ʻalaynaaa
for us
أَجَزِعۡنَآ
ʹajaziʻnaaa
whether we show intolerance
أَمۡ
ʹam
or
صَبَرۡنَا
ṣabarnaa
we are patient
مَا
maa-
not
لَنَا
lanaa
(is) for us
مِن
mim
any
مَّحِيصٖ
maḥeeṣ.
place of escape
٢١
14:22
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aalash
And will say
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
لَمَّا
lammaa
when
قُضِيَ
q̣uḍiyal
has been decided
ٱلۡأَمۡرُ
ʹamru
the matter
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَعَدَكُمۡ
waʻadakum
promised you
وَعۡدَ
waʻdal
a promise
ٱلۡحَقِّ
Ḥaq̣q̣i
(of) truth
وَوَعَدتُّكُمۡ
wa-waʻattukum
And I promised you
فَأَخۡلَفۡتُكُمۡۖ
faʹakhlaftukum.
but I betrayed you
وَمَا
Wa-maa
But not
كَانَ
kaana
I had
لِيَ
liya
I had
عَلَيۡكُم
ʻalaykum
over you
مِّن
miñ
any
سُلۡطَٰنٍ
sulṭaanin
authority
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañ
that
دَعَوۡتُكُمۡ
daʻawtukum
I invited you
فَٱسۡتَجَبۡتُمۡ
fastajabtum
and you responded
لِيۖ
lee:
to me
فَلَا
falaa
So (do) not
تَلُومُونِي
taloomoonee
blame me
وَلُومُوٓاْ
wa-loomooo
but blame
أَنفُسَكُمۖ
ʹañfusakum.
yourselves
مَّآ
Maaa
Not
أَنَا۠
ʹana
(can) I
بِمُصۡرِخِكُمۡ
bimuṣrikhikum
(be) your helper
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and not
أَنتُم
ʹañtum
you (can)
بِمُصۡرِخِيَّ
bimuṣrikhiyy.
(be) my helper
إِنِّي
ʹInnee
Indeed I
كَفَرۡتُ
kafartu
deny
بِمَآ
bimaaa
[of what]
أَشۡرَكۡتُمُونِ
ʹashraktumooni
your association of me (with Allah)
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُۗ
q̣abl.
before
إِنَّ
ʹInnaz̤̣
Indeed
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeena
the wrongdoers
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
عَذَابٌ
ʻaẓaabun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٞ
ʹaleem.
painful
٢٢
14:23
وَأُدۡخِلَ
Wa-ʹudkhilal
And will be admitted
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believed
وَعَمِلُواْ
wa-ʻamiluṣ
and did
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
ṣaaliḥaati
righteous deeds
جَنَّٰتٖ
Jannaatiñ
(to) Gardens
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flows
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهَا
taḥtihal
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
ʹanhaaru
the rivers
خَٰلِدِينَ
khaalideena
(will) abide forever
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
بِإِذۡنِ

Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُ

مَثَلٗا
mas̤alañ
the example
كَلِمَةٗ
Kalimatañ
a word
طَيِّبَةٗ
Ṭayyibatañ
good
كَشَجَرَةٖ
kashajaratiñ
(is) like a tree
طَيِّبَةٍ
ṭayyibatin
good
أَصۡلُهَا
ʹaṣluhaa
its root
ثَابِتٞ
s̤aabituñw
(is) firm
وَفَرۡعُهَا
wafarʻuhaa
and its branches
فِي
fis
(are) in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹ,―
the sky

Giving
أُكُلَهَا
ʹukulahaa
its fruit
كُلَّ

all
حِينِۭ
ḥeenim
time
بِإِذۡنِ
biʹiẓni

رَبِّهَاۗ
Rabbihaa.
of its Lord
وَيَضۡرِبُ
Wa-yaḍribul
And Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
And Allah sets forth
ٱلۡأَمۡثَالَ
ʹams̤aala
the examples
لِلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
for mankind
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
yataẓakkaroon.
remember

وَمَثَلُ
Wa-mas̤alu
And (the) example
كَلِمَةٍ
kalimatin
(of) a word
خَبِيثَةٖ
khabees̤atiñ
evil
كَشَجَرَةٍ
kashajaratin
(is) like a tree
خَبِيثَةٍ
khabees̤atinij
evil
ٱجۡتُثَّتۡ
tus̤s̤at
uprooted
مِن
miñ
from
فَوۡقِ
fawq̣il
the surface
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
(of) the earth
مَا
maa-
not
لَهَا
lahaa
for it
مِن
miñ
(is) any
قَرَارٖ
q̣araar.
stability

14:27
يُثَبِّتُ
Yus̤abbitul
Allah keeps firm
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah keeps firm
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ
bil-Q̣awlis̤
with the firm word
ٱلثَّابِتِ
S̤aabiti
with the firm word
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
وَفِي
wa-fil
and in
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ
ʹAakhirah;
the Hereafter
وَيُضِلُّ
wa-yuḍillul
And Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
laahuz̤̣
And Allah lets go astray
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَۚ
z̤̣aalimeena
the wrongdoers
وَيَفۡعَلُ
wayafʻalul
And Allah does
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
And Allah does
مَا
maa-
what
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹ.
He wills
٢٧
14:28
۞أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam
Have not
تَرَ
tara
you seen
إِلَى
ʹilal
[to]
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
بَدَّلُواْ
baddaloo
(have) changed
نِعۡمَتَ
niʻmatal
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
كُفۡرٗا
kufrañw
(for) disbelief
وَأَحَلُّواْ
waʹaḥalloo
and they led
قَوۡمَهُمۡ
q̣awmahum
their people
دَارَ
Daaral
(to the) house
ٱلۡبَوَارِ
Bawaar.―
(of) destruction
٢٨
14:29
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
Hell
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَاۖ
yaṣlawnahaa,
(in) it they will burn
وَبِئۡسَ
wa-biʹsal
and a wretched
ٱلۡقَرَارُ
q̣araar!
place to settle
٢٩
14:30
وَجَعَلُواْ
Wa-jaʻaloo
And they set up
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
to Allah
أَندَادٗا
ʹañdaadal
equals
لِّيُضِلُّواْ
liyuḍilloo
so that they mislead
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَبِيلِهِۦۗ
Sabeelih!
His Path
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
تَمَتَّعُواْ
tamattaʻoo
Enjoy
فَإِنَّ
faʹinna
but indeed
مَصِيرَكُمۡ
maṣeerakum
your destination
إِلَى
ʹilan
(is) to
ٱلنَّارِ
Naar!
the Fire

14:31
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لِّعِبَادِيَ
liʻibaadiyal
to My slaves
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
يُقِيمُواْ
yuq̣eemuṣ
(to) establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
ṣalaata
the prayers
وَيُنفِقُواْ
wa-yuñfiq̣oo
and (to) spend
مِمَّا
mimmaa
from what
رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ
razaq̣naahum
We have provided them
سِرّٗا
sirrañw
secretly
وَعَلَانِيَةٗ
waʻalaaniyatam
and publicly
مِّن
miñ
before
قَبۡلِ
q̣abli
before
أَن
ʹañy
[that]
يَأۡتِيَ
yaʹtiya
comes
يَوۡمٞ
Yawmul
a Day
لَّا
laa
not
بَيۡعٞ
bayʻuñ
any trade
فِيهِ
feehi
in it
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
خِلَٰلٌ
khilaal.
any friendship

14:32
ٱللَّهُ
ʹAllaahul
Allah
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaq̣as
created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-ʹarḍa
and the earth
وَأَنزَلَ
wa-ʹañzala
and sent down
مِنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaʹi
the sky
مَآءٗ
maaaʹañ
water
فَأَخۡرَجَ
faʹakhraja
then brought forth
بِهِۦ
bihee
from it
مِنَ
minas̤
of
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
s̤amaraati
the fruits
رِزۡقٗا
rizq̣al
(as) a provision
لَّكُمۡۖ
lakum:
for you
وَسَخَّرَ
wa-sakhkhara
and subjected
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلۡفُلۡكَ
fulka
the ships
لِتَجۡرِيَ
litajriya
so that they may sail
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡبَحۡرِ
baḥri
the sea
بِأَمۡرِهِۦۖ
biʹAmrih:
by His command
وَسَخَّرَ
wa-sakhkhara
and subjected
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرَ
ʹanhaar.
the rivers
٣٢
14:33
وَسَخَّرَ
Wa-sakhkhara
And He subjected
لَكُمُ
lakumush
for you
ٱلشَّمۡسَ
shamsa
the sun
وَٱلۡقَمَرَ
walq̣amara
and the moon
دَآئِبَيۡنِۖ
daaaʹibayni;
both constantly pursuing their courses
وَسَخَّرَ
wa-sakhkhara
and subjected
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلَّيۡلَ
layla
the night
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wan-Nahaar.
and the day

وَءَاتَىٰكُم
Waʹaataakum
And He gave you
مِّن
miñ
of
كُلِّ
kulli
all
مَا
maa-
what
سَأَلۡتُمُوهُۚ
saʹaltumooh.
you asked of Him
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
تَعُدُّواْ
taʻuddoo
you count
نِعۡمَتَ
niʻmatal
(the) Favor of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(the) Favor of Allah
لَا
laa-
not
تُحۡصُوهَآۗ
tuḥṣoohaa.
you will (be able to) count them
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ
ʹiñsaana
the mankind
لَظَلُومٞ
laz̤̣aloomuñ
(is) surely unjust
كَفَّارٞ
kaffaar.
(and) ungrateful
٣٤
14:35
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
إِبۡرَٰهِيمُ
ʹIbraaheemu
Ibrahim
رَبِّ
Rabbij
My Lord
ٱجۡعَلۡ
ʻal
Make
هَٰذَا
haaẓal
this
ٱلۡبَلَدَ
Balada
city
ءَامِنٗا
ʹaaminañw
safe
وَٱجۡنُبۡنِي
wajnubnee
and keep me away
وَبَنِيَّ
wa-baniyya
and my sons
أَن
ʹan
that
نَّعۡبُدَ
naʻbudal
we worship
ٱلۡأَصۡنَامَ
ʹaṣnaam.
the idols
٣٥
14:36
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
إِنَّهُنَّ
ʹinnahunna
Indeed they
أَضۡلَلۡنَ
ʹaḍlalna
have led astray
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeram
many
مِّنَ
minan
among
ٱلنَّاسِۖ
naas;
the mankind
فَمَن
famañ
So whoever
تَبِعَنِي
tabiʻanee
follows me
فَإِنَّهُۥ
faʹinnahoo
then indeed he
مِنِّيۖ
minnee,
(is) of me
وَمَنۡ
wa-man
and whoever
عَصَانِي
ʻaṣaanee
disobeys me
فَإِنَّكَ
faʹinnaka
then indeed You
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(are) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
٣٦
14:37
رَّبَّنَآ
Rabbanaaa
Our Lord
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَسۡكَنتُ
ʹaskañtu
[I] have settled
مِن
miñ
(some) of
ذُرِّيَّتِي
ẓurriyyatee
my offsprings
بِوَادٍ
biwaadin
in a valley
غَيۡرِ
g̣ayri
not
ذِي
ẓee
with
زَرۡعٍ
zarʻin
cultivation
عِندَ
ʻiñda
near
بَيۡتِكَ
Baytikal
Your Sacred House
ٱلۡمُحَرَّمِ
Muḥarrami
Your Sacred House
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
our Lord
لِيُقِيمُواْ
liyuq̣eemus
That they may establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayers
فَٱجۡعَلۡ
fajʻal
So make
أَفۡـِٔدَةٗ
ʹafʹidatam
hearts
مِّنَ
minan
of
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
the men
تَهۡوِيٓ
tahweee
incline
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
towards them
وَٱرۡزُقۡهُم
warzuq̣hum
and provide them
مِّنَ
minas̤
with
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
s̤amaraati
the fruits
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَشۡكُرُونَ
yashkuroon.
be grateful

14:38
رَبَّنَآ
Rabbanaaa
Our Lord
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnaka
Indeed You
تَعۡلَمُ
taʻlamu
You know
مَا
maa-
what
نُخۡفِي
nukhfee
we conceal
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
نُعۡلِنُۗ
nuʻlin:
we proclaim
وَمَا
wa-maa
And not
يَخۡفَىٰ
yakhfaa
(is) hidden
عَلَى
ʻalal
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
مِن
miñ
any
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
فِي
fis
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹ.
the heaven
٣٨
14:39
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ
ʹAl-Ḥamdu
All the Praise
لِلَّهِ
lillaahil
(is) for Allah
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the One Who
وَهَبَ
wahaba
has granted
لِي
lee
me
عَلَى
ʻalal
in
ٱلۡكِبَرِ
kibari
the old age
إِسۡمَٰعِيلَ
ʹIsmaaʻeela
Ishmael
وَإِسۡحَٰقَۚ
wa-ʹIsḥaaq̣:
and Isaac
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
رَبِّي
Rabbee
my Lord
لَسَمِيعُ
la-Sameeʻud
(is) All-Hearer
ٱلدُّعَآءِ
duʻaaaʹ!
(of) the prayer
٣٩
14:40
رَبِّ
Rabbij
My Lord
ٱجۡعَلۡنِي
ʻalnee
Make me
مُقِيمَ
muq̣eemaṣ
an establisher
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
Ṣalaati
(of) the prayer
وَمِن
wa-miñ
and from
ذُرِّيَّتِيۚ
ẓurriyyatee,
my offsprings
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
Our Lord
وَتَقَبَّلۡ
wa-taq̣abbal
and accept
دُعَآءِ
Duʻaaaʹ.
my prayer

14:41
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanag̣
Our Lord
ٱغۡفِرۡ
fir
Forgive
لِي
lee
me
وَلِوَٰلِدَيَّ
wa-liwaalidayya
and my parents
وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
wa-lil-Muʹmineena
and the believers
يَوۡمَ
Yawma
(on) the Day
يَقُومُ
yaq̣oomul
will (be) established
ٱلۡحِسَابُ
Ḥisaab!
the account
٤١
14:42
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَحۡسَبَنَّ
taḥsabannal
think
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
(that) Allah
غَٰفِلًا
g̣aafilan
(is) unaware
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
of what
يَعۡمَلُ
yaʻmaluz̤̣
do
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَۚ
z̤̣aalimoon.
the wrongdoers
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamaa
Only
يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ
yuʹakhkhiruhum
He gives them respite
لِيَوۡمٖ
li-Yawmiñ
to a Day
تَشۡخَصُ
tashkhaṣu
will stare
فِيهِ
feehil
in it
ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
ʹabṣaar,―
the eyes

مُهۡطِعِينَ
Muhṭiʻeena
Racing ahead
مُقۡنِعِي
muq̣niʻee
raised up
رُءُوسِهِمۡ
ruʹoosihim
their heads
لَا
laa-
not
يَرۡتَدُّ
yartaddu
returning
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
towards them
طَرۡفُهُمۡۖ
ṭarfuhum,
their gaze
وَأَفۡـِٔدَتُهُمۡ
wa-ʹafʹidatuhum
and their hearts
هَوَآءٞ
hawaaaʹ!
(are) empty
٤٣
14:44
وَأَنذِرِ
Wa-ʹañẓirin
And warn
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the mankind
يَوۡمَ
Yawma
(of) a Day
يَأۡتِيهِمُ
yaʹteehimul
(when) will come to them
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
ʻAẓaabu
the punishment
فَيَقُولُ
fayaq̣oolul
then will say
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ظَلَمُواْ
z̤̣alamoo
did wrong
رَبَّنَآ
Rabbanaaa
Our Lord
أَخِّرۡنَآ
ʹakhkhirnaaa
Respite us
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
for
أَجَلٖ
ʹajaliñ
a term
قَرِيبٖ
q̣areebin
short
نُّجِبۡ
nujib
we will answer
دَعۡوَتَكَ
Daʻwataka
Your call
وَنَتَّبِعِ
wa-nattabiʻir
and we will follow
ٱلرُّسُلَۗ
rusul!
the Messengers
أَوَلَمۡ
ʹAwalam
Had not
تَكُونُوٓاْ
takoonooo
you
أَقۡسَمۡتُم
ʹaq̣samtum
sworn
مِّن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
مَا
maa-
not
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّن
miñ
any
زَوَالٖ
zawaal?
end
٤٤
14:45
وَسَكَنتُمۡ
Wa-sakañtum
And you dwelt
فِي
fee
in
مَسَٰكِنِ
masaakinil
the dwellings
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
ظَلَمُوٓاْ
z̤̣alamooo
wronged
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
وَتَبَيَّنَ
wa-tabayyana
and it had become clear
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
فَعَلۡنَا
faʻalnaa
We dealt
بِهِمۡ
bihim
with them
وَضَرَبۡنَا
wa-ḍarabnaa
and We put forth
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلۡأَمۡثَالَ
ʹAms̤aal!
the examples
٤٥
14:46
وَقَدۡ
Wa-q̣ad
And indeed
مَكَرُواْ
makaroo
they planned
مَكۡرَهُمۡ
makrahum:
their plan
وَعِندَ
wa-ʻindal
but with
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
مَكۡرُهُمۡ
makruhum:
(was) their plan
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñ
even if
كَانَ
kaana
was
مَكۡرُهُمۡ
makruhum
their plan
لِتَزُولَ
litazoola
that should be moved
مِنۡهُ
minhul
by it
ٱلۡجِبَالُ
jibaal!
the mountains
٤٦
14:47
فَلَا
Falaa
So (do) not
تَحۡسَبَنَّ
taḥsabannal
think
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
(that) Allah
مُخۡلِفَ
mukhlifa
will fail
وَعۡدِهِۦ
waʻdihee
(to) keep His Promise
رُسُلَهُۥٓۚ
rusulah:
(to) His Messengers
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَزِيزٞ
ʻAzeezuñ
(is) All-Mighty
ذُو
Ẓuñ
Owner (of) Retribution
ٱنتِقَامٖ
tiq̣aam.
Owner (of) Retribution
٤٧
14:48
يَوۡمَ
Yawma
(On the) Day
تُبَدَّلُ
tubaddalul
will be changed
ٱلۡأَرۡضُ
ʹArḍu
the earth
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayral
(to) other (than)
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹArḍi
the earth
وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُۖ
was-Samaawaatu
and the heavens
وَبَرَزُواْ
wa-barazoo
and they will come forth
لِلَّهِ
lillaahil
before Allah
ٱلۡوَٰحِدِ
Waaḥidil
the One
ٱلۡقَهَّارِ
Q̣ahhaar;
the Irresistible
٤٨
14:49
وَتَرَى
Wa-taral
And you will see
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
Mujrimeena
the criminals
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawmaʹiẓim
(on) that Day
مُّقَرَّنِينَ
muq̣arraneena
bound together
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَصۡفَادِ
ʹaṣfaad;
the chains
٤٩
14:50
سَرَابِيلُهُم
Saraabeeluhum
Their garments
مِّن
miñ
of
قَطِرَانٖ
q̣aṭiraaniñw
tar
وَتَغۡشَىٰ
watag̣shaa
and will cover
وُجُوهَهُمُ
wujoohahumun
their faces
ٱلنَّارُ
Naar:
the Fire
